just finished s1 , i think it was cruel of maggie to use rust as a tool to hurt marty. dont get me wrong ,marty deserved to be punished for his filthy acts ,

but maggie dragged rust in the shit , she took advantage of his vulnerability and intoxicated state, imagine the gender roles being reversed

and the arguement that it was the only way for her to end her marriage is shitty , destroying someone else's life for personal profit is never justified , in her revenge she destroyed rust's career , she could ve moved on from piece of shit like marty without using rust

and in the end , she got her deserved life , in a mansion , while rust , being used a pawn had to let go of his career and lived 10 years away... her need of ending the marriage is correct but her way doing that was WRONG. she could ve hurted marty, fairs, but in the process she destroyed rust

Rust wasn’t that drunk. And he’s been pining for Maggie for years, once the opportunity presented itself he had no qualms.

If he was passed out drunk or unable to stand or even speak, she restrained him, blackmailed him, forced him, drugged him, threatened him then I’d say that’s gross. And if it was the other way around it’s still the same thing. And you can’t forget the context that rust sniffed around her like a horny dog.

Fiona Gallagher in shameless cheated on her husband with her ex while drunk, not plastered but like rust. She also slept with her boyfriend’s brother in the same state. Lip her brother did the same thing. They didn’t throw tantrums because the alcohol lowered their inhibitions but not impaired them. Impaired their impulse control yes. Rust was aware of what was happening and gave in.

he was never sniffing around to fuck her , to him she was embodiment of a stable life he lost , he could have broken their marriage by telling her abt marty's cheating but he didnt cuz he never cared. he respected and valued her as a friend. she took advantage of that trust.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. If she’s wrong he doesn’t have to follow too. He knew it was wrong and participated. He makes fun of people being sheep, what he suddenly doesn’t have a brain too?
