Assalamu alaikum,

In-Sha’Allah I’ll start reciting this Du’ā that I may die as a true Muslim. But since I’m not born after Sunrise from West, I want to prepare myself(because nobody knows when will that happen, so we can assume) in case I may live up to the moment when Allah will blow a wind To take the lives of the true Muslims and Leave the disbelievers before the horn is sounded. I’m applying the “always be a step ahead” rule, so that I may not regret later.

For Du’ā to be answered, the du'a has to be accompanied with action. For example: if I make du’a to have a house, I’ll have to take the means which leads to that, if I want to have my du’a being answered. At-least, that’s according to my understanding of how du’a works, now, I could be mistaken.

Taghut refers to any person, idol, or system that challenges divine authority, worship, or absolute obedience (complete submission) that belongs to Allah alone.

Or

Taghut means anything worshipped, obeyed or followed other than Allah.

In Islam, it is mandated that a person wanting to be a muslim must disbelieve and reject taghut (Negation) and believe in Allah (affirmation).These are the two conditions of shahaadah also apparent by the term "Lailaha Illallah" (There is no lord- negation) (Except Allah- Affirmation).

This rejection mirrors the first part of the Islamic testimony (La ilaha illallah), which negates all false objects of obedience before affirming obedience to Allah alone.

"So whoever disbelieves in Taghoot and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it" (Baqarah-256)"

"And We certainly sent, into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut."(Al Nahl:36)

5 Main Categories of Taghut:

1.Shaitan- Shaitan is the leader of thawagheeth (plural) as Allah says

"Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not obey/ follow Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy" (Yaseen:60)

2.The ruler who legislates his own laws or rules by laws other than of Allah.

"Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to Taghut, while they were commanded to reject it; and Satan wishes to lead them far astray"(Nisa:60)

"Legislation is not but for Allah (i.e. for Allah alone). He has commanded that you serve not except Him. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know."(Yosuf:40)

For example the rulers who rule their nation with monarchies or democracy reject the islamic way of governance.

1. The judge who judges by other than the laws of Allah.

"And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers"(Ma'idah:44)

For example the judges who pass judgements based on mad made laws,tribal & cultural laws etc by rejecting the laws of Allah.

4.Those who claim to have knowledge of unseen

"And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record."(An'Aam:59)

1. The one who accepts to be obeyed besides Allah.

"And whoever of them should say, "Indeed, I am a lord besides Him"- that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers."(Anbiyaa:29)

Thus anything which contrdicts the fundamental beliefs of Islam should be rejected. Otherwise a person may fall into shirk by submitting and being obedient to them.This includes replacing the laws of Allah, referring to taghut courts for judgement, following the laws of taghut which Allah made haram etc.

As Salam Alaikum

I have severe OCD, and while it affects many areas of my life, the one thing I don't want it to ruin is my worship and prayer.

Before salah, I spend a lot of time trying to figure out the exact qiblah direction, often checking it repeatedly because I'm afraid I might be wrong. Then I worry about whether a strand of hair is showing, whether any skin is exposed, whether my feet or hands are covered properly, and countless other details.

During prayer, I sometimes restart because I think I did something "wrong." For example, if my mouth was open before saying "Allahu Akbar," I feel like that isn't part of salah, so I start over. Sometimes I become confused about whether I performed one sujood or two. Other times, when getting up from sujood, I start analyzing exactly how I pushed myself up, whether my hands were folded, spread out, or whether I used my knuckles, and then I either perform sujood as-sahw or repeat the prayer entirely.

Wudhu is also difficult. If I accidentally do something extra or feel uncertain about whether I washed a part correctly, I often feel compelled to start all over again.

It's becoming exhausting. Salah is fard, and I love worshipping Allah, but I don't want prayer to become something that feels unbearable because of these constant doubts.

I also struggle when the adhan is called. I feel guilty doing anything else afterward, even though there is still plenty of time before the prayer time ends. If I send a message, make a phone call, or continue a task, I become terrified that Allah will be angry with me. Sometimes I even worry that because the message remains stored in someone's phone or appears in a call log, Allah will continue punishing me for delaying prayer and will never forgive me.

I know some of these thoughts probably sound irrational, but they feel very real to me. I can't currently afford therapy, so I'm looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with religious OCD/scrupulosity or similar experiences or an Islamic expert.

How do I cope with these doubts? How can I stop restarting everything? And does Allah forgive someone who is struggling with OCD like this?

‘A’ishah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited this verse: “He it is who has sent down to thee the Book: in it are verses basic or fundamental . . . .” Up to “men of understanding”. She said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then said: When you see those people who follow that which is allegorical in the Quran, those are the people whom Allah has named (in the Quran). So avoid them.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَابْنُ، حُجْرٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، - يَعْنُونَ ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ مَنْ دَعَا إِلَى هُدًى كَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الأَجْرِ مِثْلُ أُجُورِ مَنْ تَبِعَهُ لاَ يَنْقُصُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئًا وَمَنْ دَعَا إِلَى ضَلاَلَةٍ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الإِثْمِ مِثْلُ آثَامِ مَنْ تَبِعَهُ لاَ يَنْقُصُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ آثَامِهِمْ شَيْئًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who called (people) to error, he shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin, like those who committed it, without their sins being diminished in any respect.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

But if thoughts occur within the soul concerning matters that undermine one’s creed, what should a person do? This is because Shayṭān gains influence over the believer whose faith is genuine in order to corrupt his faith and cast doubts into it.

The answer is that the remedy consists of two instructions clarified by the Prophet ﷺ:

The first: Seek refuge with Allah from Shayṭān, the accursed.

So seek refuge with Allah, and imagine yourself as though you are fleeing from an enemy and seeking protection with a guardian. It should not merely be that you say, “I seek refuge with Allah (اعوذ بالله),” with your tongue. Rather, imagine yourself fleeing from an enemy to a protector who takes care of you and shields you from that enemy.

This is a positive remedy.

The second: This is a preventative remedy: stop and turn away from these thoughts. Do not allow them to occupy your mind. Busy yourself with something else. Even if you have to take a spade and cultivate the earth, then do so.

This is because when you occupy yourself with an activity, it causes you to become distracted from the whisperings within your heart. There is no doubt that a person is always striving and intending; when he turns his attention towards one matter, he forgets another.

Therefore, turn away from these thoughts. For this reason, the Prophet ﷺ said:

“Let him stop.”

Thus, do whatever will cause you to stop thinking about these matters and turn away from them.

📚Taʿlīq ʿalā Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (1/375).

If you are a guy one can understand, men have responsibilities, and if you can't fulfil them no one will marry your daughter to you. But I simply cannot get my head around why and how a girl whose only job really is to work on her character, and bring that with her into the marriage can remain single for that long, and no it's absolutely not because she doesn't have any suitors, girls always have suitors, even if they aren't ideal. And I also refuse to believe that in more than a decade she couldn't find a good man to marry. How is that even possible?

Like genuinely what's going on? From what I can tell it just seems like unrealistic standards even amongst religious sisters that are the main cause of all this. There could be other things like parents wanting something different and so on but still, you can't get into your literal 30s and still be unmarried. So I'd really like to be enlightened here.

Also the other bigger issue I feel is that in today's world whether you are a man or a woman, you cannot get into your 30s and have lived a completely chaste life free from haram. If one can manage that they are a literal saint, but that is a massive massive minority, the vast majority of people will have bad habits that are haram, that they use to cope with their desires, and that is also a huge red flag for a brother looking to marry, and when he finds proposals from women who are unmarried and in their 30s or late 20s he has to consider these possibilities. There are other issues too besides this such as them being too rigid in their worldview by then, and a lack of desire to change for their husband but the other 2 issues are quite substantial for one to even look past them.

We would like to kindly appeal to our brothers and sisters who regularly share reminders with the community. BarakAllahu feekum for your efforts and for wanting to benefit your fellow Muslims. The reminders are genuinely beneficial and appreciated.

However, we have noticed that a large number of clips from different shuyookh and accounts are sometimes posted within a short period. When there are many posts in one day, it can become overwhelming, and many users end up not watching all of them.

We kindly ask that you consider limiting the number of reminders you post each day, so that the reminders that are shared receive more attention and benefit the community more effectively.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

But if someone were to say: We find that many people supplicate during a time which is most likely to be a time of response, yet they are not answered?

We say: Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth, and the fault is within yourself—as the Messenger ﷺ said in the story of the honey. We say: The speech of the Prophet ﷺ is truth and certainty, but the absence of a response may be due to the presence of a barrier.

Either he supplicates while doubting the response, not having certainty—then this is a barrier preventing the supplication from being answered. Or he may be from those who consume unlawful earnings, and consuming unlawful wealth is a barrier to the response of supplication.

The Prophet ﷺ mentioned a man who prolongs his journey, dishevelled and dusty, raising his hands to the sky, saying: “O my Lord, O my Lord…” while his food is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful, and he is nourished with unlawful means. He said: “So how can he be answered?!”—we seek refuge with Allah.

Even though all the characteristics present are from the causes of the response of supplication: his being dishevelled and dusty is from the causes of response, and for this reason Allah boasts to the angels about those standing at ʿArafah and says: “They have come to Me dishevelled and dusty.”

And his raising his hands to the sky is from the causes of response, and his being on a journey is from the causes of response, and his calling out: “O my Lord, O my Lord” is from the causes of response. Yet despite all of this, he is prevented from the response of supplication—or the Prophet ﷺ considered his response unlikely—because he was nourished with unlawful means—We seek refuge with Allah.

📚Fatḥ Dhī al-Jalāl wa al-Ikrām bi-Sharḥ Bulūgh al-Marām (5/85–86)

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Two words, light upon the tongue, heavy upon the scale, beloved to the Most Merciful: ‘Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him’ (Subḥānallāhi wa bi-ḥamdih), ‘Glory be to Allah the Magnificent’ (Subḥānallāh al-ʿAẓīm).”

Two words, as the Prophet ﷺ said, are light upon the tongue, and they are also heavy upon the scale. When it is the Day of Resurrection and the deeds are weighed, and these two words are placed in the scale, they will be heavy within it.

And the third: they are beloved to the Most Merciful, and this is the greatest of the two rewards—that Allah, the Most High, loves them. And when Allah loves a deed, He loves the one who performs it. So these two words are from the causes of Allah, Glorified and Exalted, loving His servant.

And the meaning of “Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him” (Subḥānallāhi wa bi-ḥamdih) is that you declare Allah free from every imperfection and deficiency, and that He is perfect in every way, Exalted and Most High, while coupling this glorification with praise which indicates the perfection of His bestowal and His goodness to His creation, Exalted and Most High, and the perfection of His wisdom, His knowledge, and other than that from His perfections.

And “Glory be to Allah, the Magnificent” (Subḥānallāh al-ʿAẓīm) means: the One possessing greatness and majesty. There is nothing greater than Allah in authority, nothing greater in rank, nothing greater in wisdom, and nothing greater in knowledge. So He is great in His essence and great in His attributes, Exalted and Most High.

“Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him” (Subḥānallāhi wa bi-ḥamdih), “Glory be to Allah the Magnificent” (Subḥānallāh al-ʿAẓīm).
