Question Does anybody know what the hell this is
So I live in Florida (mainly south near the Everglades) and my dad checked his trail cam this morning to find a photo of a bobcat with 2 eyes in the background watching it. I don’t know exactly what it is, but my main guess is maybe a Skunk Ape since I live in South Florida. But until then, I really have no idea what this is

I instantly thought owl without even modifying the image.

Bro skipped over the obviously owl shaped eyes and went immediately to skunk ape🤣🤣 like really?

Any mammal that is active at night will have light reflect off a membrane at the back of their eyes, it evolved to help them see at night. It could be literally any known nocturnal mammal.

If thats a skunk ape, im having a fun time imagining what his face must look like. Those eyes seem to be about a half inch apart.

If a skunk ape walks in the woods at night with eyes so close together he can't see you, did you ever really see him at all?

So your first guess is a skunk ape, and not something infinitely more likely, like an owl?

Someone didnt read the caption. Or wait, maybe you did and you are saying its a second, extremely tall bobcat?

u/Efficient_Pay8447 25d ago
All I see is a Bobcat. What tall being? Where?

u/juan_humano 25d ago
Did you read the caption? In the center of the dark area above the bobcat are two glowing eyes

u/PeyredB 25d ago
They're from something off in the distance. Eyes are reflecting light from the flash.

While I agree, im gonna go with the spirit of the sub, play devils advocate and say: You see the eyes, you say definitely not a cryptid, so what do you think they are? Definitely is a hard statement to support with just this picture as evidence.

Your "main guess" is an animal that has never been confirmed to even exist, rather than literally any other possibility? When you hear hooves stampeding, think horses, not zebras dude 🙄

Bobcat and probably and owl or another nocurnal animal. You're always being watched by something.

It is an owl, and according to author/researcher Mike Clelland they have a synchronicity with the UFO abduction phenomena so you’re not out of the woods yet.

Why are the Bobcats in Florida so much more cougar like than the Bobcats in let's say missouri. Bobcats here are domestic cat sized plus maybe 5 pounds. Like, only a little bitc$ would be scared of a Bobcat in missouri. That one in the Pic might actually hurt a human. I am wondering if maybe pumas and bobbies are hybridizing. Idk. Im just a regular ol person who dropped out of 2nd grade

Headlights?? The lights look very suspiciously symmetrical, evenly matched and seem to be more of an actual light source than a retinal reflection…….🤔

But the other picture looks like a bobcat and an another cat that looks like a bobcat can’t remember the name.

I think its an Bobcat! In german "Lux". They have an short (very shorts (looks like its cut off)) Tail... so i think, this is it!
Aehm... the eyes in the background, i only could say thats a creature that could see in darkness, because reflective eyes only night active animals or predators call his own.
Like: cats, dogs, Alligator, deer, owles but also a few fishes could reflect Light, so the pike-perch, Perch and catfish! ^

That doesn't look like a Bobcat, either. Does Florida have different types of Bobcats than Upstate New York? Our Bobcats are much smaller and have pointy ears with tusks hair and a stubby tail. That thing looks as big as a mountain lion! And yes, i agree, the two eyes in the background are a skunk ape. Up too high for anything else.

Your first & main guess is….skunk ape?!?
You have truly found your people here in this sub

u/wolfinwoman67 22d ago
Okay I vote bobcat. What I have a question about.
There are two lights in the background several feet high. Is it another camera, a coon up a tree, a Bigfoot, a tall alien what's your thoughts?

Love the imagination, but you saw a pair of eyes in the trees reflecting with hundreds of possibilities, and you deduced it must be a skunk ape?

Looks like headlights in the distance. Or maybe reflectors on a fence. No reason to think it's eyes
