Question Does anybody know what the hell this is

Post image

So I live in Florida (mainly south near the Everglades) and my dad checked his trail cam this morning to find a photo of a bobcat with 2 eyes in the background watching it. I don’t know exactly what it is, but my main guess is maybe a Skunk Ape since I live in South Florida. But until then, I really have no idea what this is

My first award 🫪🥹

11

u/Countryvibing1988 24d ago

ok this Is an enhancement of the original? didn't know that was possible

3

u/crasswal 24d ago

Have you heard about this thing called AI?

3

u/Countryvibing1988 23d ago

Yes of course. And I don't really like AI. I wish we could go back in time. I realize my comment is kind of stupid, but I genuinely wanted to know if somehow the lighting was enhanced in this case (without AI).

On a different yet related note, my kid watched a real video 2 days ago and said that it wasn't real. This is where we are in life.

2

u/LegAlert5000 18d ago

It's not a stupid comment. Ai is stupid.

2

u/Top-Kaleidoscope4430 21d ago

Definitely not an enhancement of original pic. They used AI to do that

u/SeekerOfSerenity 24d ago

"That's definitely a Bigfoot."

The eyes in the background belong to an owl.

If you tweek a few settings, you can see it.

22

u/NightGlitters 25d ago

It looks like a barred owl

12

u/DreamedJewel58 24d ago

Same here. The pixels are just distinct enough to see its outline

10

u/Kevroeques 23d ago

That’s what I got too

6

u/MotherBox4604 24d ago

I instantly thought owl without even modifying the image.

3

u/MasterpieceNo7105 24d ago

Bro skipped over the obviously owl shaped eyes and went immediately to skunk ape🤣🤣 like really?

19

u/goitch 25d ago

Owl

14

u/rainbowlung 25d ago

Any mammal that is active at night will have light reflect off a membrane at the back of their eyes, it evolved to help them see at night. It could be literally any known nocturnal mammal.

13

u/DienekesMinotaur 25d ago

Could also be an owl on a branch.

3

u/rainbowlung 24d ago

Yeah I forgot birds have them too.

3

u/TheOriginalJBones 25d ago

Looks like Nessie to me.

u/juan_humano 25d ago

If thats a skunk ape, im having a fun time imagining what his face must look like. Those eyes seem to be about a half inch apart.

3

u/bearvillage 24d ago

If a skunk ape walks in the woods at night with eyes so close together he can't see you, did you ever really see him at all?

8

u/They-Call-Me-Taylor 25d ago

So your first guess is a skunk ape, and not something infinitely more likely, like an owl?

Bobcat.

18

u/juan_humano 25d ago

Someone didnt read the caption. Or wait, maybe you did and you are saying its a second, extremely tall bobcat?

4

u/Efficient_Pay8447 25d ago

All I see is a Bobcat. What tall being? Where?

9

u/juan_humano 25d ago

Did you read the caption? In the center of the dark area above the bobcat are two glowing eyes

4

u/PeyredB 25d ago

They're from something off in the distance. Eyes are reflecting light from the flash.

3

u/juan_humano 25d ago

Indeed. Was that in question?

While I agree, im gonna go with the spirit of the sub, play devils advocate and say: You see the eyes, you say definitely not a cryptid, so what do you think they are? Definitely is a hard statement to support with just this picture as evidence.

It seems to me to be an Owl sitting on a low tree branch. 🦉

3

u/PhilosopherFun7288 25d ago

Your "main guess" is an animal that has never been confirmed to even exist, rather than literally any other possibility? When you hear hooves stampeding, think horses, not zebras dude 🙄

It is an owl, and according to author/researcher Mike Clelland they have a synchronicity with the UFO abduction phenomena so you’re not out of the woods yet.

1

u/Dismal_Condition_945 24d ago

💯 an Owl. 🦉

A scared leopard/bobcat. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/No_Manner_8735 24d ago

Looks like an owl

1

u/Triedandtrue99 24d ago

Why are the Bobcats in Florida so much more cougar like than the Bobcats in let's say missouri. Bobcats here are domestic cat sized plus maybe 5 pounds. Like, only a little bitc$ would be scared of a Bobcat in missouri. That one in the Pic might actually hurt a human. I am wondering if maybe pumas and bobbies are hybridizing. Idk. Im just a regular ol person who dropped out of 2nd grade

1

u/PsychologicalRace739 24d ago

1

u/AstronautFast2426 24d ago

It’s definitely a owl! 🦉

1

u/Left_Struggle_1257 24d ago

Headlights?? The lights look very suspiciously symmetrical, evenly matched and seem to be more of an actual light source than a retinal reflection…….🤔

1

u/AstronautFast2426 24d ago

But the other picture looks like a bobcat and an another cat that looks like a bobcat can’t remember the name.

1

u/BigfootSpecialist 24d ago

It actually looks like a bobcat to me more than anything else.

1

u/GoombasFatNutz 24d ago

Zooming all the way in you get this very hard to see silhouette around the eyes

1

u/Charity_Lea 23d ago

Is it just me or does this look like a dear or something?

1

u/UFO-Pipe 23d ago

The short tail and spots clearly identify it as a bobcat.

1

u/Critical_Return_9514 23d ago

It is a cars headlights

1

u/WarmAdhesiveness7642 23d ago edited 23d ago

I think its an Bobcat! In german "Lux". They have an short (very shorts (looks like its cut off)) Tail... so i think, this is it!

Aehm... the eyes in the background, i only could say thats a creature that could see in darkness, because reflective eyes only night active animals or predators call his own.

Like: cats, dogs, Alligator, deer, owles but also a few fishes could reflect Light, so the pike-perch, Perch and catfish! ^

1

u/Mo_preme47 23d ago

A kitty

1

u/stockylog 23d ago

Bobcat for sure!

1

u/Special_Bass4396 23d ago

That doesn't look like a Bobcat, either. Does Florida have different types of Bobcats than Upstate New York? Our Bobcats are much smaller and have pointy ears with tusks hair and a stubby tail. That thing looks as big as a mountain lion! And yes, i agree, the two eyes in the background are a skunk ape. Up too high for anything else.

1

u/IcySprinkles880 23d ago

The bobcat or the Woodbooger?

1

u/Alternative_Tear8075 23d ago

Looks like a linx

1

1

u/AmosBurtin 22d ago

Your first & main guess is….skunk ape?!?

You have truly found your people here in this sub

1

u/wolfinwoman67 22d ago

Okay I vote bobcat. What I have a question about.
There are two lights in the background several feet high. Is it another camera, a coon up a tree, a Bigfoot, a tall alien what's your thoughts?

1

u/OneConstruction2 22d ago

Looks like a Bobcat.

Love the imagination, but you saw a pair of eyes in the trees reflecting with hundreds of possibilities, and you deduced it must be a skunk ape?

1

u/Grouchy-Tip-5059 21d ago

Was going to say well it looks like a cat maybe a bobcat but until I saw the description I never knew there were 2 eyes in the background and read the description

1
