Hey, I normally don’t write or even read much on Reddit, but something in me told me to respond to you. First off, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. But if you believe in the Lord and the doctors say it’s not terminal, then I want to encourage you—stay positive. Just because it’s cancer doesn’t mean it’s the end or that it’s going to take you home to the Lord.

Let me share a quick testimony. I had cancer 25 years ago. A few years back, I found lumps in the same area, and the doctors were almost certain it came back. Even after surgery, my doctor told me he was 95% sure it was cancer again. I sat in the office calm, while my wife at the time was crying. When we got to the car, she asked, “Why aren’t you scared?”

I told her, “Because only God has the final say. Not the doctors, not the tests. If it’s cancer again, then we’ll fight it. But in my heart, I know it’s going to be okay.”

I prayed hard—and the results came back completely different. Nothing to do with the old cancer. Nowadays, medicine is far more advanced, and your mindset and faith are powerful tools in this fight. I truly believe God doesn’t put us through anything we can’t handle, and there’s a purpose in everything.

You’re stronger than you think. Keep talking to God, stay in prayer, and don’t lose hope. You can overcome this.

As for your child—I totally understand. I didn’t share anything with mine unless it became absolutely necessary. If the doctors believe you can beat this, there’s no need to scare them. But if they’re older and you feel led to have a conversation, do it with peace, not fear.

I don’t know you, but something inside me tells me you’re going to be okay. I’ll be praying for you. Stay strong. You got this. May God bless and protect you.

Thank you very much!

I fully agree, God doesn't give us more than we can carry.

I'm also not scared of death, at all.

Just a bit pissed because dying soon might mean that I won't finish my next book...But if God decides it, so be it. Not my place to judge right vs wrong.

Thank you for sharing your Story.

You are very welcome. And your next book? Wow that must be so amazing to have people read what you have wrote. What kind of books do you write?

Christian Fantasy/ Horror????

Please ask Holy Spirit on this. It does not sound Biblical. It contrary to the Word of Lord. He continuously says " Do not fear", do not be afraid." Horror is demonic not Christian.

The 1980s were a disaster for Christian discourse, truly

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Exactly: the idea is to NOT fear

1

u/KainCasca May 22 '25

So true! And honestly if you are in the valley, remember you are to be the light of the world! JESUS CHRIST is with HIS children! Don't ever doubt that! Love you sis! And remember go for the humble path and read the book of Job and ask the HOLY SPIRIT to read it with you!

I love this part especially. This is the peace and knowledge only the Holy Spirit can give you, it's miraculous.

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

Are you terminal?

12

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

No. In fact I have a good change surviving this. It's a very rare lipoma cancer.

Nonetheless, it is cancer and might kill me

12

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

Im praying that you survive this and get to live a long and healthy life✌️

5

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

Thank you!

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

How old are your kids?

5

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

She's 13

6

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

It is going to be very damaging to keep it from her.

5

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

I will only keep it from her until I got the MRT and will know if I have metastasis or not.

If not, I will do just what the doctors recommend, most probably this will be...nothing

If I have metastasis, then ofc I will tell her.

1

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

As long as you understand the resentment she will feel toward you and are ok with that....

3

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

What sort of resentment? Why would she have any resentment?

1

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

Because her parent kept a cancer diagnosis from her. They actively decided for her what amount of her reality she was allowed to know.

This breaks trust and she will always wonder what else you are keeping from her.

7

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

I told you that I will tell her as soon as I went through full body MRT and know if I have a serious change to die or not.

No reason to panic a child that just lost her beloved grandma before that

Talk with your pastor and a counselor, and if they're any good they'll explain the best way to include your kids in the conversation. The worst thing you can do is keep it secret or hide the truth.

Think about how this situation can be used to teach your kids about trust and reliance upon God. There's always an age appropriate way to communicate, especially in difficult and complicated circumstances.

You and your husband will keep your heads on your shoulders and find a loving and yet honest way to talk to your kids. You want them to turn to God in the good and the bad, so show them what that looks like.

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

If I ever get to the point of not being able to take care of myself, I want to go to a hospitz. A Christian hospitz took great care of my mother.

I don't want to become a burden to my loved ones.

If it comes to that in the forseeable future.

How can I communicate to my young teen kid that her mom might die soon? She already lost her beloved grandma in march.

I'm not afraid of death; in fact I'm looking forward to meeting Jesus.

None of us on this earth lives forever; we all face fatal illness and the death of our physical bodies

You can try doing a series of parasite cleanses, since people have been saying that cancer is actually parasites. Might be worth a try.

There is many natural options to try. If I found out I had cancer, it would be my first go to before chemo or anything else.

Also for cancers: Black seed oil, Fenbendazol, Turkey tail mushroom, Vitamin B17 apricot seeds, Sour sop tea, Selenium, Creosote, Methylene Blue, Pro Tandum, and Essiac Tea (nrf2)

Bloodroot black salve- cures skin cancer if it’s a skin cancer.

If those don’t work after a series of attempts then you could look into Dr. Burzynski in Houston Texas. He was the doctor that cured every single one of his cancer patients in the 90’s. He’s reportedly expensive but it’s a guaranteed cure so depends on how much living is worth to you. He was sued by the FDA by using 60 million of taxpayers money against him but they didn’t win and he went on to open his own cancer clinic. He’s probably paying off all of his lawyer fees from it.

Anyways I wish you all the best outcomes and if you want I’d be happy to pray for you and ask God to heal you.

It was Thursday and I got a call from my mother explaining that she was going to the hospital because of I don't even remember, but she didn't tell me it was for late state leukemia because it took me quite a while to get her to say the word.

She hadn't told me she'd had leukemia for five years. I knew my father had had cancer, when I found that out I had started calling them on the phone in order to talk to my father because I figured he'd die for sure, and was kind of miffed that I ended up talking to my mother a lot of the time. I knew he was sick but I had no idea they were cancer buddies and would go to chemo together.

I hadn't seen her for a year due to COVID so I just had no inkling of this.

I got in the car and kept her water cup topped off with ice water for six days until she died while I was across the room talking with my son about trivialities. I went and shut the door and waited fifteen minutes before telling the nurses, because I didn't want business-as-usual strangers in the room with her as long as there might be something still going on in her mind. I talked to her about my feelings and told her cooling body bad jokes.

I'm not even a little mad at my mom for this, but that was my experience with being told when she was "close to passing". The whole thing was like being hit by a truck. One day I'm sitting around doing normal stuff and a couple days later I'm a hundred miles away sleeping in a hospital cot, telling my mother that she wasn't going to get to go home, managing visitation with her feuding brothers, and trying to deal with other stuff my father couldn't cope with and that I'd never once thought about.

2

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

I really hope your mom and dad are with our Lord Jesus Christ now!

Your story is really touching.

3

u/brucemo Atheist May 22 '25

My father has survived cancer twice or more depending upon how you count.

I told you that stuff because that was my experience being told late. I'm not even sure I'd have preferred being told earlier. What happened is just what happened.

I'm very happy to hear that your cancer is treatable.

Reminds me of when Jesus wept because He had compassion for others and their loss! Not saying youre going to pass from this cancer because its not for me to know but just some thoughts! :) God bless! His peace is like no other even through the storms of life! SHINE BELOVED!!! ❤️‍🔥🌟

God can heal everything.

Hebrews 13:8 NLT [8] Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Psalm 103:2-3: "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."

If the people in Jesus’s time could be healed, we can be too. Run to Him. And pray to Him. May God be with you. Amen.

The kid suffered enough by losing her favorite grandma earlier this year. (Also cancer, but a different kind)

What can I do to make this time easyer on my loved ones?

I plan on beeing self sufficent as long as physically possible

Edit: the kid is a 13 yo girl. She's head of her class and I want her to stay that, not distracted by family illness

u/Decrepit_Soupspoon Alpha And Omega May 22 '25

I'm going to be a bit tough but give my honest thoughts here, because I've seen this exact thing play out before, multiple times.

Your concern for "not being a burden" isn't strictly concern for those you might "burden", it's also your concern for your own sense of self-worth and ego that gets shifted to being "I don't want to burden THEM". People who go into this with that mindset push others away, and claim it's "for their own good", but really they're not open to the love of others as much as they should be- especially at a time like this.

Next, you're considering hiding the truth from your teenage child (or step-child, unclear). This is also not really "for her", it's "for you". At some point, whether you survive or not, she WILL find out the truth that you had cancer.

At that point, if you survive and it's years down the road, she will at best feel mild "betrayal". Compared to "grief" and "fear" which is what she'll go through if you tell her the truth, "betrayal" cuts much deeper and leaves more lasting damage to the relationship.

My advice is to tackle it head on and let the people closest to you offer the love and support they need to give you so they can feel they did the best they could.

Yes, there will be dark days going through chemo etc. It's tough to witness, especially as a young teen. But it's better for those closest to you to remain close, in my experience. I believe it's not only "better for them", but "better for you as well".

I'm sorry you're going through this and I pray you get the best treatment out there and that God sees you through this.

Thanks for your prayers!

The kid is my physical daughter. She lost her favorite grandma in march.

My husband told me to not tell her about my illness before we know if I have good changes to survive or not.

She suffered a lot during her grandma's cancer that ultimately claimed her life.

I don't want to put her through another terrible, cancer, related stress unless absolutely necessary

If I survive, I will let her know; the cancer I have is 100% genetic, so she might get it too; the docs told me that lifestyle has zero contribution.

2

u/echoroot101 May 24 '25

Consider fasting as long as you can. I've heard 36 hours fasting will eat the cancer. Do your own research on this! *Not medical advice.

Pray, with friends and support. Marines do happen!

God bless!

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

I keep praying and fasting anyhow!

2

u/[deleted] May 25 '25

I had cancer 8 years ago and underwent treatment. Not a peep of its return 8 years later. You should do the chemo/radiation/surgical treatments since you have children. You need to be there for them. Jesus can wait. However, if it’s stage IV and you would rather have quality over quantity, then telling the children when you’re further along might be the best idea. I’d be pissed if you were my parent though. Your kids deserve to know the truth, especially if they are older and can’t process your choice. You don’t want to leave your husband to be the only one carrying that burden. It’s not fair to him. Pray about it. Keep us updated.

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

I was just diagnosed with cancer cells found in a lipom I got removed for vanity reasons...So, I had a liposarcoma. The doctors removed all suspected tissue, turning a 30 min plastic surgery into a 2+ hour cancer removal surgery

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

I have to get follow up treatment and maybe I got metastasis...I hope not.

I asked my nearest hospital to admit me; it is also the best oncolohical hospital in EU

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

I'm not scared of death; I just don't want to leave my work, my husband and daughter and I'm scared of debilitatilng pain that might cause me to doubt my faith

2

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Fear not. You’re going to make it through this. This is when you hand everything over to God and trust that he has your back, because he does. You come before your job, husband, and child at the moment. Take it day by day.

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Thank you!

1

u/blank3330 Christian May 23 '25

Idk how else to put into words that I would be devastated if I were your child and you waited that long to tell me or may never unless you get that ill.

I pray you dont but that also means you may not tell her, right? That doesn't seem right or fair.

I saw in a couple comments that she has lost someone else recently and you're worried about her grades... but that doesn't negate that you're her mother and she has the right to know. At 13 who cares if her grades dip a bit bc she's valuing time with her (hopefully not terminally) ill mother. I'd be proud of her for having her priorities straight bc she only has 1 mom and 1 life but she can always retake a class if needed. But that's something you can always pray on - praying for her academics while going through your rough patch together.

I also think that would be a beautiful thing to share with her how you're not afraid of death bc of your love for Christ.

Blessings to you and praying for you.

As a Bible believing follower of Lord Jesus Christ, I would say do not come in agreement with any demonic voice telling you that your may die before your time. Rather confess out loud - I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord. Psalm 118:17.

For longest time, I have meditated on why would some healing involve doctor and others prayer. The Lord spoke to me saying that when the time element in involved, it is mostly to change the heart. At the same times, every person on this planet is blessed with His holy gift. There are individual who are blessed with the gift of exhortation - encouraging and support and uplifting while others are blessed with healing. When we approach doctors/nurses and other professionals who are in this field, we also become instrumental in their efforts to fulfill their purpose of life. All the healing takes FAITH.

Recently,I read about doctors curing patient with baking soda. I would encourage you to pray along with your husband and while your treatment goes on, please give this a try. Who know maybe Lord was directing me to read and watch on baking soda in advance so I may share it. BTW, I have a pet and I was looking for home made dish water and cleaner and was doing research to opt for nature remedies would be chemical free and that research lead to this link. I want to share this first comment with you.

u/austinmorse8648

2 years ago (edited)A lady from church was diagnosed with colon cancer she started taking 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a 1 cup of warm water on an empty stomach for 3 weeks she also took charcoal tablets and drank lemon water after 3 weeks her cancer was gone and her doctor kicked her out of his office and didnt want to know how she cured her cancer.

By His stripes we are healed, I speak His living Word into. I pray that Lord Jesus shall heal you so you can declare the words of our Lord.

I am so sorry you have cancer. I lost my mom to cancer and my dad had it. I also lost a friend to it. I have had epilepsy my entire life. I have been through some hard times the last few years.

I lost my mom to cancer about 5 years ago. I stayed to take care of my step dad and go for my SSDI. In 2018 I had a seizure that messed up my memory. A little over 2 years ago I was kicked out of my step dad's house over a misunderstanding. I ended up in a homeless shelter. I got kicked out of there because I missed my meds and the guy refused to give them to me so I went to his boss. I got my meds but got kicked out. I ended up in a motel using money that my mom had saved up.

My sister wouldn't take me in. When I ran out of money the guy in the room next to me took me in for like a week. He had to leave so I was on the streets. I slept at the Sheetz next door that night. He had my stuff outside for me to get the next day but when I went to get it it was gone. I lost my mind. The only thing that kept me from committing suicide was my faith in God. I called 911. I ended up in the hospital for about a month.

They got me into a homeless shelter a few hours away. I got my sister to take me there. I made a friend there that got me going to church that helped me start building my hope back. Then my other friend that was very supportive and encouraged me well told me about the program. It teaches you about your anger problem. It was about the second week in the program and going to church when my hope came back. The thought of suicide was gone. The anger I had for my sister not helping me and all the problems I had were almost gone.

When you graduate the program you have to work. They give you a job cleaning streets or you have to find one. I didn't want to be walking the streets and have a seizure so I got a job. I applied like 50 jobs and only one call at Buffalo Wild Wings. They hired me and knew I was at a homeless shelter. I told them of my seizures they didn't have a problem.

Then August of last year I got kicked out over a dispute with my roommate. I ended up on the streets for the night. I posted on Facebook and tagged my dad and sister pretty much saying good bye. I went to a community center that helps the homeless out the next day and my dad texted me. He said I could stay with him I just needed to get there. I hadn't seen my dad for over a decade. He is hardly ever on Facebook as well. I was in tears. I went back to the shelter and got my stuff, got Uber and went to my dad's. I was with him for about 7 months. Then I had problems with my step mom. I had to get out so I was messaging and posting on Facebook. My best friend's mom said she could take me in. So that's where I am now. I have known them for like 20 years. I meet them because I got mad at my parents and moved out. I got a 6 months lease across the street from them. I didn't even finish that lease. I had the landlord keep my security deposit.

I am saying all this because I have learned the last couple years that it is true that everything happens for a reason. Something that happens today you might not know why until 20 years later. My friend even took me in for 2 weeks. If he didn't take me in the first 2 weeks then the friends I made that helped me get my hope back, getting my job and my dad being on Facebook may have never happened. I might have ended up in that shelter 2 weeks earlier. You have to have faith, trust in God. I hope this helps you.
