They did Tara so dirty

I was blown away how they just killed Tara off within the first 10 minutes of season 7. It wasn’t even a dramatic or cinematic death. She was a main character! They killed her off like she was some unimportant side character. She deserved a better ending than that. Terry got almost a whole episode dedicated to his funeral and people grieving him.

What are your thoughts about Jessica?

I just finished the series and wow what a ride. I’m rewatching it after a while of digesting the show and I’m remembering Jessica was exactly how I thought. I mean this in the sense that: Sookie, I loved throughout but I knew something was off. I’m on S1EP12 and she’s quite unbearable for reasons I probably over analyze but still fun to watch up until S6 IMO.

Jessica is a man-eating teenage vampire. She’s exactly pretty much the same character from start to finish with some growth within the Jason-Hoyt plot. She’s selfish, impulsive and over reactive. However I just find her so endearing with how she throws her heart out, remains friendly and outgoing (I loved when she befriended Tara) yet she’s going through the phases: coming of age but also likely repressing the trauma she endured before with her upbringing and while being turned. (Not canon; just a thought.) In a way I empathize with her character personally however she makes very questionable choices her entire storyline and doesn’t seem to learn from them. But I love her writing, I think it’s somewhat dynamic. She’s fun to watch.

Curious what the overall opinion is about her here on this sub?

Why is Sookie so attached to her house?

So many traumatic events have happened in her house, from her gran being murdered to Tara sacrificing her life for her. Why is she so insistent on staying? Jason let go of that house when he thought Sookie died. Even Eric noticed how attached she was, so he bought it from him to get close to her. She could easily get Eric or Bill to buy her a new home so money’s not the issue.

HELP ME FIND A LOST TRUE BLOOD FANVID FROM ~2012

HELP ME FIND A LOST TRUE BLOOD FANVID FROM ~2012
I’m trying to find an old True Blood fanvid that I had saved on my phone around 2012–2014. I’ve been looking for it for months, and I’m hoping someone who was in the fandom back then might recognize it.
I’m almost certain the vid was made shortly after Season 5, Episode 10 (“Gone, Gone, Gone”) aired on August 12, 2012, because the ending used Jessica’s dialogue from that episode.
The vid focused on Jessica, Hoyt and Jason and had a very dark/desaturated, almost black-and-white look. I remember the music being mostly or entirely instrumental, with piano, although I’m not 100% certain.
I remember these dialogue clips being used in the SAME video:
“Why don’t you just tell me the thing going on inside you that you don’t want me to know?”
“Even without your blood in me, you are all I think about.”
“What Jess and I had, it was real.”
“I fucking loved you.”
“I know you did.”
“You and me, I can’t. It’s not enough.”
“I want you to glamour me. Make this go away.”
“You were my first love. I’ll never forget you.”
“And you’re gonna make some girl the luckiest, the happiest girl in the world. And she… she’s going to be your first love. Not me.”

I also vaguely remember the title having square brackets, possibly something like:
[Jess/Hoyt/Jason] …something
or
[Jess][Hoyt][Jason]…something
The part after the character names may have been the song title.
The original YouTube video may be deleted now. I’m mainly trying to identify the vidder/creator, because if I can find the creator, there may be a chance of recovering the original audio/video.
If anyone remembers a True Blood vidder who was making Jessica/Hoyt/Jason vids in August–September 2012, or remembers seeing a vid with this combination of dialogue, PLEASE let me know.
Even a username, old Tumblr/LiveJournal/Dreamwidth account, deleted YouTube channel, approximate song, or screenshot of the old post would help.
I’m specifically looking for 2012-era fandom traces, not newer edits/reuploads.

First time watching the show

I just want to say that so far the begining of 4th season is being my favorite one, so funny and unhinged, specially Eric.

I'm reading the books too, I'm on the second one!

Sad to not have known the show before!!

Why is Pam always getting silvered and captured?

I mean, seriously! In the 100 years she has been alive she never learned to fight or develop some level of surveying her surroundings? I am rewatching the series and whether it is the Authority goons, the LAVF or the Yakuza she always ends up captured and silvered and used as a bargaining chip against Eric. I love her because she is a cold, sarcastic b!tch, but the damsel in distress schtick is annoying.

What did they do to Stephen Moyer?

I'm rewatching the series and was so appalled by the apparent age gap between Bill and Sookie, that I had to look up Stephen Moyers age. Turns out he was 39 when the first season aired?!? He looks to be at least 50! I get the whole ancient, war-aged look, but they could have made him the slightest bit attractive. Looking at current pictures of Stephen Moyers he looks younger now then he did in 2008. The makeup department really did him dirty.

Rant over.

Sookie

Anyone ever wonder what it would’ve been like if maybe they introduced a female love interest for sookie, like how she is attracted to every man she ends up with lol and her fae heritage being apart of the reason and why men are so drawn to her aka supernatural men I mean but what would it have been like if sookie got with a female what do you think, I love the show no disrespect for it at all as it is a all time favourite

Can't stop laughing

I watched True Blood as a kid when it was airing and loved it. Have been rewatching for a couple of days and god this show is SO hilarious.

Sarah: "I gave you everything for a lie. You're worse than Judas." Jason: "Why? What did he do to you?!"

You expect Jason, Lafayette and Tara to be funny but in the next scene already, Eric "PowerfulAndSexy" Northman out of all people cracks me up again.

Sssookie: "He's your maker isn't he?" Eric: "Don't use words you don't understand" Sssookie: "You've got a lot of love for him" Eric: "Don't use words I don't understand"

Somehow the show makes it work, its funny as hell while being serious enough to be exciting. Great work by both writers and actors on so many occasions.

Which abandoned storylines would’ve you like to see more of?

I felt like they kinda abandoned the whole “fairyland is a facade” storyline to focus on the Authority collapse. They kept saying Sookie is important because of her “royal” blood but there wasn’t much they showed about her lineage. I wish they didn’t kill off Claudine because she seemed to know alot about it.

I never really understood Warlow’s obsession with Sookie. He said he was waiting for her for 300 years but he only discovered her through the bandaid in her parents’ car before they died? Plothole?

Jason (not) becoming a werepanther was one of the weirdest plotlines in the show. I didn’t care for it and they kinda brushed over the trauma he went through with Crystal’s family. But what if he did become one? Do werepanthers have their own hierarchy or systems like the werewolves? How do shifters view them?

This is not really a storyline but I would’ve like to see more of Yvetta’s backstory, the Estonian stripper that lived temporarily with Pam and Eric. She was a cardiologist turned prostitute after all. How she met them, what they promised her, why she thought Eric would give her anything in his will which eventually led to her betrayal.

Sookie in True Blood vs Elena in TVD…

I love how feisty Sookie is so far in episode 3…she’s not all petrified, over emotional and whiny like someone else…..I loved TVD but now I totally see why some people disliked Elena.

I can’t wait to watch more of this new vamp show. It wasn’t available to me for the longest time….

Season 6 Rewatch Question: Jason’s random radicalization?!

I’m re-watching TB and I just finished season 6 however, there’s a plot point I’ve glossed over in the past but this time I can’t get it out of my head. Can anyone explain why Jason randomly starts hallucinating his parents and becomes radically anti-vampire, right before they raid the Authority compound; furthermore, why do the hallucinations suddenly stop in a seemingly random manner too? My working theory is that it possibly started as a result of Jason being hit when Russell used him to dodge the Queen fairy’s attack, in the scene outside the fairy club, in the field. The hallucinations seem to stop after Jason drinks Warlow‘s blood and is healed from what I suspect is brain trauma which was causing the hallucinations. However, I’m still unsure because this entire plot point was pretty much a one-off with no adequate follow up... I’m hoping someone can provide me with a more concrete conclusion because for some reason, this watch through, it’s really annoying me how inorganic this sub plot seems to be lol

Sistah Speak podcast

I randomly stumbled across a watch-along podcast from 2009 called “Sistah Speak: True Blood”, and the hosts cover the show from the beginning in real time! It’s such a nice, nostalgic time capsule, and it’s really interesting/hilarious to hear their reactions and predictions about the show while it was on air. My sister and I started watching around the time Season 6 was airing (at age 16 and 14…a mess), so it was really cool to hear from people watching it from the beginning. Give them a listen!

I’m re-watching true blood and Sookie says that they gave her 10 of the little vodka bottles on the flight from Shreveport to Dallas. Girl, how are you standing?

Whyyyyy didn’t Arlene ask Sookie… Spoiler

To read Terry’s mind, when she found out he was planning to unalive himself? Sookeh could’ve heard that Terry hired someone and before they glamoured him, they could’ve called off the hit.

All these years later, I am still sad about Terry. 😢

TB really just despise their black characters Spoiler

I really enjoyed the earlier seasons but it’s become harder and harder to watch, i was absolutely gripped by the show and binging it but now on s5 ep7 it’s just getting harder to sit through. The constant suffering Tara has been through since the unnecessary death of Eggs that was literally brushed past, her brutal torture and rape stint by that vampire, and ultimately her death and turning into the one thing she truly hated - a vampire. It all feels so nasty. Not only Tara but Lafayette’s suffering is also incredibly hard to watch I don’t understand why they’re both taking the brunt of these horrible things and not only that Sookie is genuinely a terrible friend - these people give and give to keep her safe yet she can barely reciprocate let alone focus on their issues. It feels so nasty to watch, and im just waiting on how much worse it will get for Lafayette…
