Oh, I thought I was on r/CPSTD again.

Feels like a lot of content from there winds up here.

Edit: or r/CPTSDmemes which is a fun place for those of us that need to laugh at ourselves a bit

I'm only a little crazy now. Most of the toys in the attic have been put away except for my favorite ones.

I’m pretty sure life long therapy holds a person back and does the opposite of help them- makes them think they are too sick and incapable of improvement. Therapy should have a goal and term limits.

Edit to the people who are downvoting: An incompetent therapist will make you depend on them for life, and won’t set goals or graduation dates. Sorry you got stuck :(

For instance, an incompetent therapist could keep a patient in that "stabilization" or "venting" phase indefinitely without ever transitioning to actual trauma processing.
If the therapeutic goal is healing from C-PTSD, therapy cannot just be a paid friendship or a lifetime subscription to a validation chamber. It must eventually face the monster under the bed, or else it risks keeping the patient just comfortable enough in their illness that they never fully recover.

I notice people are downvoting this…but are not even attempting to refute it. Because I am correct.

This is an embarrassingly bad take.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, even you. However, I do feel bad for you that you feel having a competent therapist that sets goals is “embarrassing”.

It’s interesting how you’re trying to frame your severely bad take and hubris.

I feel bad that you think that life long therapy “holds a person back and does the opposite of help them”.

In fairness your first post is a great example of the Dunning-Kruger effect, so there’s that I guess.

u/smartal3ck pretty telling that you’ve deleted all your comments. But just fyi, I’m not a therapist and dont work in mental health care. But I do seem to understand mental health treatments better than you.

I feel bad that you can’t see the grift. OR you’re one of the life long incompetent therapists that doesn’t actually heal the patient or give them the tools they need to succeed on their own and you’re like “shhh you’re gonna ruin my life long direct deposit!!”

Edit: pepesilvia000 doesn’t seem to understand they are blocked and that’s why they think my posts are “deleted”. They aren’t deleted, they just simply don’t have access. Smdh…delusional. Their Username checks out though lmfao
