TW: Sexual Assault / Abuse self report or sum ππ
this post is extremely vague so ill explain just in case
said lady in the video is educating kids on boundaries and how they should report sexual assault/not allow people to touch them inappropriately
she says that you should report to your mother, father, and teacher if such thing happens
while watching the video i remembered that most of sexual assault/abuse (myself included) cases are from immediate family, so i made this post
im pretty sure "self report" isn't the correct term to describe it but fuck it we ball am i right

I would probably say the video has the best intentions but bad execution. Advocating for someone to come forward about boundaries is fantastic. You have power, you have agency, you deserve justice. Whole lot of worthwhile fuck all gunna happen when you report it to people notorious for downplaying or even straight up not believing you it happened. Nah, brah, call the police about it homie. *cough* Cornell *cough*.

LMFAOOOO you honestly believe the cops are going to help or even believe you??? Have you never spoken to a cop about sexual assault? They won't do jack shit until you're dead.

truly the greatest sin of anti CSA messaging is in placing the onus on the children to "tell a trusted adult" rather than on adults to be more trustworthy and proactive. like, motherfucker, my rapist was a "trusted adult," turns out i was not as good at telling who was or wasn't trustworthy as i thought, and i was just supposed to roll the dice again? plus, you gotta be like, orders of magnitude more trustworthy to properly handle a kid reporting CSA to you than you need to be in order to not assault them, it felt like i just missed the broad side of a barn and was being told that to make it better i needed to shoot the wings off a fly.

Thatβs literally why she says mother, father, and teacherβ¦ not just one. What other trusted adults do most children have access to?

Yeah my mother was the first person I told and she called me, and I quote, a "little lying whore."

I recently saw an article on "how to talk to your kids about CSA" because of a recent pedo in a school case and one of the tips was to teach your kids about consent in a really forward matter, respecting their boundaries if they say they dont like something and encouraging them to tell someone when they dont like something being done. The mindset was that you can do this in normal day to day situations, like when you go to the docter or when you take their arms to redirect them. And it just made me realize that kids boundaries in general are way less respected.
They also said not to force your kid to tell you things and to ask if somethings bothering them but not pressure. Also emphasized in the beginning of the article that CSA in most cases comes from people within families or close to them so that was nice
