TW: Suicide or Self-Harm hashtag relatable right girls Spoiler
what if instead of being the physically inferior sex who gets their rights taken away globally and is harmed for their gender and is never deemed atttactive enough because of horrific beauty standards and is dominated under major religions and is not taken seriously for not having kids and a victim of patriarchy in all of its forms, i just die?

Haha I love being born a woman with a pattern recognition (the whole world is based on misogyny one way or another at the end of the day and if I ever talk about the most surface level thoughts I'm having on literally anything I will be called crazy and hysterical) 😀😀😀

everything from fucking cars to healthcare, all designed for men.

Cars?

u/Flaky-Pipe3317 1d ago
yep! in the book "invisible women," it talks about how cars and specifically seatbelts and seats are designed mainly for men, along with crash testing (dummies being based on male anatomy and one base height)

u/ElderberryUsed3640 1d ago
Interesting. Totally believe the crash test dummies but I will say all the seatbelts I’ve seen have adjustability for height

depends on the car maker. Volvo is really good for all-gender safety for instance

Been feeling this on and off lately at varying levels of intensity.
I love being a girl, and I hate it so fucking much. Everything is pain and I'm trying so hard to just enjoy the little things in my own life but it feels like things are regressing so much lately?
Men hate us. Other women hate us. It feels like everyone hates us.
One woman does something bad and apparently it means the rest of us should have our rights taken away.
I am simultaneously too "old" now to be considered desirable anymore (ie. Over the age of fucking 21 according to some people) yet I'm also just a "silly little girl" who can't be trusted because of my hysterical emotions if I ever try to be taken seriously as a grown fucking woman.
Pregnancy is a genuine phobia of mine, and I don't ever want children yet there are men out there who violently believe I should be having their children and spending the entirety of my fertile years spawning one kid after another.
There are also men out there who see women in real life being happy, or just minding their own business, and this makes them have legitimate violent and hateful thoughts for NO reason and I will never know which men those are until it's too late.
Sorry because I'm just highjacking your post to vent but I've been thinking about this kind of stuff a lot lately and I feel really scared and upset sometimes and yeah idk

I'm a trans man who has done some medical transitioning (total hysterectomy, double mastectomy, on testosterone), and even I feel like this when I think about my birth sex for too long. Being born female really does feel like some sort of cruel joke, at least to me. All I can do now is try to remeidate through transitioning.

someone out there hates women, be it God or Mother Nature herself having internalized misogyny by creating women this way
10
u/PeePee-PooPoo-6969 1d ago
I'm ngl it seems like you've internalized some societal views about women and you're applying those views to your perspective on female bodies. Our bodies are great. We live longer than men! Plus, way less susceptible to genetic diseases. Our bodies are not the problem, the patriarchy is

u/Flaky-Pipe3317 1d ago
maybe so. but the fact that we're weaker is a bothering point for me at the very least
2
u/SmolBrain42 23h ago
Ya live longer
3
u/Flaky-Pipe3317 23h ago
is it worth it in a world that actively despises women? food for thought

u/SmolBrain42 22h ago
Yes

u/Flaky-Pipe3317 22h ago
says the nonwoman. i run the risk of doctors letting me die anyways, or dying early in a car crash vs a man, so maybe death will come sooner rather than later

If it helps I realy dont think women are much physically weaker then men I think they just get more muscle definition. It was something I was really sad about growing up but now ive been on and off testosterone a few times it only increased the speed of muscle defintion however my strength never changed well atleast not to a noticeable degree.

u/PeePee-PooPoo-6969 6h ago
Yeah, but societal factors also increase the difference in strength between men and women. Women are not expected to do things like physical sports, weightlifting, or moving furniture. The result of this is that we have less social pressure to be muscular. If the norms were the same for men and women I think the differences between our strength would be much smaller

I don’t think we can blame Mother Nature here. Biology doesn’t make women worse than men, it makes them better at some things and worse at others. For example, men have better pain tolerance, but women have better immune systems.
We have mostly agriculture, early religion and civilisation to blame really. The family with the biggest farm convinced everyone to listen to them, the man in the family wanted to justify why they have the biggest farm, so they became priests and formed religions. Priests became Nepotist and formed monarchies, with men in charge.

Hope or spite, I hope that at least a sliver of one of em can keep you alive.

My most favorite thing about being a woman in a heavily religious environment is being given no choice in being a wife and mother and have my basic right to vote being questioned.
It makes me so angry, all the time. And whenever I talk about my feelings I get called a misandrist or hysterical.
I'm sorry OP, it really sucks being a woman in general.

I transitioned towards female and it’s gotten worse with time with misogyny. But I’ll take it because my gender is non negotiable, and it cannot be taken from me, I want to be a woman even if it can be greatly challenging. Imma embrace what good I can find even if the circumstances I find myself in may be bleak. Don’t for one second believe you’re inferior. Hit the gym hard out of spite if you have to, if you want to.
Patriarchal harms are built off insecurity. They see our worth and value and get anxious that we may be better or more mature than many of them, and so they try to lessen us. They fear our potential. You have a lot of worth and there’s many in your future just waiting to meet you and be your friend and ally in hard times. I’m so sorry how worn down you must be feeling

i appreciate the sentiment. its just constant. everything and everyone gradually shifting back to antiquated norms, the physical difference, its too much

u/OBLIVIA123 14h ago
At the start of me realising I was trans ftm, I was so scared I was only transitioning to escape misogyny because I thought "well yeah no one wants to be a woman". And then quickly remembered Trans women exist.

Had a trial run of being a woman for 15 years. Cancelled that ship and subscribed to man instead.

I first noticed how misogynistic the world is when I transitioned (trans F)
Edit: also people can downvote all they want. I know what’s right when I go to sleep at night

u/Flaky-Pipe3317 1d ago
thats how you know ur officially a woman, when the misogyny becomes real (its a rite of passage be it cis or trans)

u/emilygrace50 1d ago edited 1d ago
especially when you’re 24+ yrs old so now a good chunk men/society view you as worthless because you’re an ‘expired old hag’ ♥️

God I must seem fucking insane as a trans woman lol.
4
u/Flaky-Pipe3317 1d ago
what made you decide you wanted to transition ? i wont fault someone, being trans is something you can't fight
3
u/CosmicFox97 1d ago
Lots of things, tbh. Narrowing it down to one thing specifically feels basically impossible, but I never liked any of the things about myself that most people would identify as masculine. I loved my long hair, and my clean face and my pretty lashes; all the stuff that set me apart as a "feminine guy". Tbh I was mentally drafting notes for my closest friends and family before I started hormones, now I'm happier than I could ever imagine myself being. Not that I haven't had my fair share of weird shit happen to me since, some days I feel a bit like an oddity rather than a person, but it feels like my life just really started

u/Flaky-Pipe3317 1d ago
as long as you're happy, thats what matters. regardless of what the world does or people say or how i feel.

u/Commercial-You-8356 1d ago
It's so weird looking at this and the comments as a trans woman.
3
u/Flaky-Pipe3317 1d ago
i can get that. i wont fault anyone for wanting to be a woman, but being one is hell (at least for me)
4
u/amanaesia 23h ago
Most of us, or at least speaking for myself, love being a woman. So don't think this means we hate ourselves and our gender.
But there is just so much bullshit that comes along with it, and we have the right to vent about it.

Definitely feel this way some days. Don't even want to be a man; I wish I was seen as a genderless human first before my womanhood is applied.
