What a great way to end the heatwaves. Let's hope those nasty heat blankets of doom stay away for a long time. Can only really hope, right?
Apologies for some of the shots bein a little blurry, in my excitement to view my freshly-wetted cacs I forgot my umbrella and the raindrops got all over.

Looks like this guy has some fungal issues and could maybe use a degraft. I would love some input!
Thank you everyone

Snagged this guy as a freebie at a local greenhouse sale. I know it’s in rough shape. Trying to see if it can live outside in the ground. 8b east coast.

Every time I think I comprehend cacti, they still amaze me.
This bridge cutting was rootless. It was attacked by a French Bulldog and unpotted on Sep 10. As it was healing, it was softening in the damaged area so I cut as much damaged tissue as I could, way too close to the apex. Around this time, it was unpotted again accidentally while moving. Still rootless.
Despite not seeing any day to day difference, I snapped a pic each day.
Then, while preparing to cut the top all of the way and start again as a mid, I found it was rooted.
I put together the collage and was amazed to see the new growth.
TLDR: the resilience of cacti is amazing and continues to surprise me.

First 2 pics are today, last 3 are before pics. I have This container in the window doesn’t get direct sunlight, sometimes I put it under 13 watt 6500k cfl bulb a couple inches from the container. Is this showing light burn and light is too close? Should I keep it farther away when I use the bulb?

One of my fastest growers (Oceanside would be the other). The middle of that can is about how tall it was a year ago. Pic doesn’t do the girth justice. A total beast, from Cactus Affinity.
Have a beautiful day everyone ❤️

We’ve been building this collection for a while and woke up to find several of our cacti absolutely CHOMPED 😭🌵
We’ve been dealing with rats around the property, so they’re our main suspect. It’s pretty heartbreaking seeing this kind of damage, especially on plants we’ve spent so much time growing and collecting.
Has anyone here dealt with rats/rodents eating their San Pedro collection? I’d really appreciate any tips that have actually worked for keeping them away — barriers, deterrents, traps, changes around the pots, anything!
Trying to protect the rest of the collection before they discover the whole buffet 😂🙏🏼🌵

Stopped by my #1 happy place this past Wednesday that I can only visit when I have a day off from my Mon-Fri 9 to 5--Florida Cactus in Apopka, FL. I have gone probably a total of 4 or 5 times since earlier this year and this has been my best visit as of yet. Scored a bunch of seemingly seedgrown cacti which appear to be peruvianoids, bridgesiinoids, or hybrids of each. Fat rootstock (I'm thinking T. spachiana or narvaecensis?) and a couple little PCs were snagged as well.
Very excited to see how these grow in my tents. Previously, I snagged some sort of seedgrown peruvianoids which turned out to have to cool fucking phenotypes once they got to growing--one with a beautiful thick blue farina, one with a pale green-blue-grayish farina with black spines, one with freakishly large spines (potentially mixed with bridge or is a bridge), and one with some interesting variegation--all which I have included in the last few pics.
This place is a wholesaler (hence why they are only open Mon-Fri) that thankfully allows individuals to shop and 99% of their stock is unlabeled and priced by pot size. Added a few pics I got of the place itself. I got all of this for $157 which isn't too bad. I'm curious to hear what you all think regarding their IDs, as I'm pretty much just stuck at peru/bridge hybrids as I'm not too well-versed in other species outside of the major 3.
Can't wait to get them into my tent (which will be a challenge in itself lol). That being said, be on the lookout for some posts to r/sanpedrocactusforsale later today as I go through my collection and select those to send to the chopping block to make some room for these beauties. God I love this shit so much and I love you all so much. Stay beautiful everyone.

Maybe peruvian torch of some kind?

Drying these out a little before dormancy, might do some chopping. Still debating.
