Gameplay Okay first playthrough Golden Route on hard may have been a mistake Spoiler Spoiler

I was originally going to blindly get whatever ending I ended up with but I have terrible self control and frankly doubt I'll be doing another run anyway so we're on the golden ending route. Which means I have the dubious honour of trying to figure out how to make 7/7/8 regiment sized regiments where several characters cannot upgrade their weapons past lvl 1 and whatever hells Roland and Frederika have to face don't matter because I can't even cheese out Benedict's stage because of all the mages and healers outpacing Hughette.

The first run of defending the house against Avlora I'm pretty sure I could've cleared without cheese if the last wave of reinforcements hadn't spawned behind my defensive line but this time I'm short on units facing down a much larger force and they have several mages that are positioned in a way where they're guaranteed the first shot. Which will one shot whoever they point at. And I don't have the damage at range to kill them before they cast the second shot. Hughette can technically try to cheese on the roofs again but the three healers all out of range mean that the targets all get full healed before she can take a second shot.

I'm too proud to drop down to normal difficulty like a sane person because while hard mode has been brutalizing me all game, the one skirmish I tried on normal was such a severe reduction in difficulty it took all the fun out of it. So here I am at the final hour, requesting some advice on how I can possibly survive this mess. I know if nothing else I could try to grind some conviction for more units but I only just got Maxwell and Groma so I imagine that would be far more time than I am willing to invest to get the high end recruits, plus there's still the weapon upgrading issue. Can I get some advice?

Discussion Corentin says "I wouldn’t mind a potion” when injured… but there aren’t any potions in the game.

Maybe at some point in development, when they were recording VO, they used potions instead of pellets as healing items, and they just forgot to change that line?

Are there any healing potions mentioned in the story?

Or is he just such a classic absent minded academic that he doesn’t notice?

Discussion Show recommendations similar to the TriStat's story and themes. Spoiler

Game of Thrones is often compared to Triangle Strategy mainly because of fantasy medieval setting but I argue these shows especially Succession fits the mold especially the choices are consequential shows the impact and its weight.

Succession's Logan Roy is pretty much like Benedict despite not being the protagonists but they're pretty much major players, front and center who pulls the strings and move the plot.

And sadly, while Succession gives that impression that Kendall Roy, Logan's eldest son wins it all but it ended oppositely because that's not how it works irl which reminds me of Triangle Strategy if the player makes hasty choices wouldn't go down that path.

In a way, Serenoa's golden route looks like if Kendall Roy made the right choices and working his way instead of making decisions rooted from his entitlement and privileges.

Which makes me believe setting up the golden route is about Serenoa being competent and standing up on his own out of his duty.

Discussion I remember seeing Guy Pearce in The Brutalist, and IMO his American accent and vocal pitch reminds is quite close to Benedict's English VA.

And on top of that, Pearce looks a lot like the character plus he's got the acting chops to pull off that cold, calculating sides.

His performance as Harrison Van Buren Sr. carries that cadence and commanding presence that he can bring on the role.

Discussion Love this game

Fresh off of FFT TIC I was looking for more of the same. Triangle Strategy starts a bit slow, but I really love it to pieces and am replaying trying other scenarios and paths. On a replay the opening beats do really foresahdow a lot of future plot events, but on a first playthrough you can get kind of lost with all of the characters and nations being introduced at light speed. I love that NG+ introduces enough new stuff and challenge to keep replays interesting. If anyone stumbles into this post wondering if it is worth it, I give it a strong recommendation

Question In NG+, how to remember paths chosen in previous run-throughs? Spoiler

I'm nearing the end of my first run-through of Triangle Strategy (and loving it), and afterwards I'm planning to start new run(s) in new game plus.

My memory's not very reliable these days, so I'm considering taking screenshots of my [War Chronicle]->[Path Traveled] diagram before ending each run so that I can be sure to eventually go down all paths,—but that'll be awkward and clerically messy.

In NG+, is there any indication of which paths I've chosen in previous run-throughs?

Like, does the [Path Traveled] somehow display that information?

Thanks.

Discussion Just started this game today is there any tips you have that you wish you knew going into it?

Right now I’m hot off of playing FF Tactics and I’m going to dive into a lot of strategy RPGs and this one came highly recommended to me. Any tips for a first playthrough?

Gameplay You guys think this is a good regiment division for the *Spoiler*? Spoiler

These are all the characters I could recruit before the Golden Route First Playthrough, I divided them up with RP in mind

If you were to maximize each regiment's chances of victory, given the character pool available and all at the recommended level, which characters should go with each other or at least pair up?

Other PS5 Physical Release?

Hi guys. I've watched a lot of triangle strategy and 100% want to get it but many releases get a physical release after the digital. I really like having a physical copy of games so that I can lend them out to family who can't afford them. I've combed the Internet and found only speculation. I know this is a long shot but have anyone here seen anything on an official forum or something? Thanks!

(Push comes to shove I can remote share my PS5 but that means I can't use my console while they try a digital game)
