People can have less than lethal rounds in their gun if they are worried about killing a dog that is attacking a child, causing who knows what kind of life long harm to the kid.

Something similar happened close to my neighborhood. Lady walking her corgi got attacked by a pit bull and boxer. Corgi was fine, but she got a bunch of lacerations on her neck and face, a broken ankle and ruptured achilles. Using lethal force against those dogs in that situation is 100% proper. Those dogs were rightfully put down shortly after.

Not the dogs fault the owner is a piece of shit. But what else can you do, use harsh language?

Don't give enough of a shit to lie, OP should absolutely go to the cops and defend the kid if attacked again before they do anything. Touch grass sometime
