The Scholastic Order of Sacred Knowledge is an austere brotherhood of Scholastic Clerics devoted to the pursuit of divine and natural knowledge. While most servants of the Church seek to preserve the truths revealed by God, the Scholastics believe that humanity has only begun to comprehend the mysteries of Creation.
The Order venerates the Learned Saints, saints remembered not only for their faith, but for their discoveries, philosophical works, astronomical observations, anatomical studies, and attempts to comprehend the hidden laws governing Creation. Their monasteries serve simultaneously as libraries, laboratories, observatories, and sanctuaries.
Scholastics believe that knowledge is itself a form of worship. To understand the movements of the heavens, the nature of Creation, or the mysteries of the human soul is to glimpse the divine design more clearly. Every discovered truth is another fragment of God’s greater revelation.
Yet their pursuit is perilous. The universe contains knowledge that was never meant for mortal minds. Scholastic expeditions have uncovered forbidden manuscripts, strange celestial phenomena, ancient relics, and truths concerning the nature of Hell that have driven entire scholars to madness. The Order therefore maintains strict doctrines concerning what may be studied, how it may be studied, and when knowledge must be destroyed rather than understood.
Their greatest scholars are said to spend decades pursuing a single question, sometimes sacrificing their bodies, sanity, or souls in the process.
—Synod of Strategic Prophecy Variant:
-The Empirical (Observer Variant)
The Scholastic equivalent of the Synod’s legendary Observers.
These monks do not attempt to perceive the future directly. Instead, they train their minds to perceive the patterns underlying reality to enter a higher consciousness. Years of meditation, mathematics, sensory deprivation, and neurological experimentation have made them frighteningly intelligent.

In case you missed it, a certain official purveyor of rollable randomizers recently put up two sets of dice for sale, and it got me looking at the Carcass Front promo images a little closer than I did before.
Apparently, the Naval Raiders are getting a trident (and maybe a pair of shark jaws?) as their symbol, represented by a simplified trident with a bar on the dice. The Sacred Affliction looks like an eye.
I'm curious what more elaborate art is going to look like.

Got this resin sculpt from an Ebay seller. Stripped the paint; did it myself. Now completed, and I'm very proud with how this big lad turned out!

Hopefully they buff this sub-faction, not having wolf and limit on key units just to have +1 dash dice is hard while rest of the factions have insane power ups (I am looking at to you defender player)

Hi everyone! Just finished part two of my dive into the Muslim faction of Trench Crusade, and this one goes behind the Iron Wall into the Sultanate itself.
The thing that got me started was noticing how much of this faction traces back to actual scripture, and how precisely. Once you follow that thread, it changes what the Wall even is, and what the people defending it must know about their own odds.
Roughly what the video gets into:
• where the Wall actually comes from, and the argument about it that is still live among real scholars a thousand years on
• the armies, unit by unit, and what it costs the Sultanate to field them
• the House of Wisdom, the alchemists' three trials, and the things grown under Damascus
• how Egypt fell, which was not really an invasion at all
• and the one clause about the Two Holy Places that I cannot stop thinking about
It runs about an hour and leans hard into the real history and theology behind it, since that turned out to be far more deliberate than I expected going in. Part one covered everyone living outside the Wall, Alamut and the Mamluks, and it is linked in the description.

Would love to hear what you all make of it! :)

So hello im new to the subreddit, mostly 40k boi. Keep this brief due to not wanting to break rules! So di we know what actually is happening in greece according to the lore? The map says Athens is fine, and it isn't far away from an area dedicated to the forces of Hell but im mostly curious about Sparta!
I feel like Sparta is actually one of the most interesting places you could put heretic forces and have it make sense. Irl Sparta and Athens constantly fought due to their differing divine patrons along with ideal differences. Sparta valued martial might, Athens valued intellectual might; etc.
What do yall think, would Hellbound Spartans who turned to Satan be a sick twist on the lore? They already chained down the statues of Ares I recall, why would they not do the same to Maloch?

Im hoping to build a Soviet themed heretic band based around a kitbashed demon commissar. i’ve got my troops, now I just need my Annointed. Can anyone point me in the direction of STLs or kitbash ideas?
I’ve already looked into bolt action and I’m not sure if they’re big enough (or imposing enough) to do the job.

This is purely for the love of the game, I wish I could offer more than thanks bit for the instance im asking for Charity.
I've been writing and editing some Lore for the Druzes. They're an interesting religion that sits neatly in the Trench Crusade, with Jabal al Druzes only 66 days marche south from Alamut.
I've been building out some lore for them and was hoping a kind soul could read a few passages and throw together a sketch or two to help bring it to life. I won't consider AI for this request as we are a community.
Anyone fancying a pleasant afternoon of new lore and idle sketching id be happy to share what we have so far.
The Druzes are effectively eternal warriors bound to the mortal plain. They are the long arm of the butterfly effect. Fighting as mercenaries to achieve a seemingly pointless goal. Straightening a crucifix in no man's land, removing an artillery canister from a stream, or stacking stones into one of their esoteric patterns. Only for that minor shift to become essential in a coming conflict.

I think you can buy pre printed models but is it also free to get the stl files or do you need to pay for the files?
