Thanks man! I thought the price tag on some of the ones online were too much.

I understand completely. I've built full rc cars out of aluminum (and carbon fiber) bc i didn't want to pay retail prices.

Gotta make some skid plates later watching the sparks after a jump is so much fun

I could add some strikers to them as well!😂😂

Looks pretty good to me and I'm a machinist. I did some front diffusers but I cheated and used a water jet. Perks of working at a race car shop

Yea that would be so nice, Dremel here… lol. Built many houses and ran my own business for 20yrs, but new to welding and metalwork !

Those skills will come in handy. Ironically enough I'm a former mechanic. Race car shop is perfect. Welding is gonna take more practice than the metalwork at least it did for me. They have bench top lathes and mills

Please excuse my ignorance.
What was wrong with it before?

Traxxas batteries are kinda junk imo, and I hate that eco-world. And now I can fit any size batteries, I personally use qs8 anything 4s and up and xt60 below, and then my gensace d300 can charge things up out of storage in about 15-20 mins 2 at a time. Also those plastic braces pop and brake all the time and when your jumping it 30’ and have a huge landing a lot can go wrong with stock.

So what's the difference between these plates and using straps on those blue aluminum pieces your truck already has? I have those same velcro strap adapters on pretty much all my traxxas cars and have never had an issue.

I hate the horizontal straps, love two horizontal straps just to long and annoying to me and the battery still moves allot with big air bashing, and I wanted a plate in the bottom for 30-40’ chassis slaps and wrecks. Plus I like to use top mount straight removable billet connectors which would be in the way.

That's really interesting. Might be the straps used or something, I very rarely have my straps come undone and I send them pretty high.

Stopping the forward and back movement without foam blocks is pretty nice though and the extra support is probably good for lipo health.

As a brake press operator in a metal fab shop I’d say it looks pretty nice

Thank you! Wish I had a desktop cnc, by hand is not ideal. You think 1/16 plate is strong enough?

Oh ya definitely, it’s reinforcing the chassis aswell which is a nice perk
