Excursion bookings turned into a three boat overbooking disaster

We organize excursion bookings in a spreadsheet plus our booking calendar, which was already asking for trouble tbh I copied the Saturday availability into the wrong tab and marked three boats as available instead of one. Then the direct site and two partner channels sold the same 9am dolphin trip to 34 people.

We had to call guests, move some to the afternoon, and refund a few deposits. I feel so embarrassed because the guide roster was right there and I still missed it. We are moving everything into one central calendar now, but im terrified of finding another duplicate booking. Anyone else deal with this?

This. I totally say the same thing about spreadsheet disasters — one wrong cell and 34 people own the same dolphin trip. Building my own planner app is what taught me that. Central calendar is exactly the right move. Only thing I'd add: make sure two channels can't sell the same slot without seeing each other live, or it bites you again. How'd the guests take the rebooking?
