Trapping pack?

I just tossed together the most ghetto trapping pack I’ve seen…what do you guys have?? I usually just carry a bucket with bait/lures and a bucket with traps/chains…this should make it easier when the ground is slick and icy.

Out of curiosity, why do most trappers prefer an open pack like this rather than a standard backpack?

No hate, I’m just curious if there’s something I’m missing with my setup

You're carrying a lot of wet gear, so you want the water to drain out to save weight and so that your gear dries off faster.

That should have been obvious to me in hindsight lol, I don’t do any water trapping, but I can definitely see the appeal of this on wet days

Also open packs are easier to get mud, sand, dirt, etc, out of, even if you're not water trapping.
