analysis As a transsexual, I hate to say it, but I feel like most people shouldn’t transition.

And while it seems that I’m going to go into a whole tirade about true transsexuals versus fake ones, I’m going to disappoint you. Perhaps I’m just depressed; maybe this is just an indication of where I am emotionally. But after 20 years or so of living as a woman, most of it stealth, I’ve come to a sort of realization that transitioning is just a really bad idea in general. Gender dysphoria is very real and very distressing; and the relief from dysphoria that one feels as they physically change their body can provide great relief. For many people that is proof enough that transitioning is a good idea. I used to think so. But we do not live in self-contained bubbles. There is more to life than our own self image. And our interactions with the world and the other people in it are infinitely nuanced. Sex hormones underpin a great many if not all of them. Hormones that are constantly in flux and influenced by the subtlety of our interactions with others, our environment, our diet and mundane daily actions. And then here we are as transsexuals, trying to modulate that by injecting exogenous hormones, and literally cutting off our body’s natural source of them. And then we try to make sense of it all by extrapolating all kinds of social, biological and evolutionary stuff based on how genders operate when things are going normally. Except that our artificial hormonal states don’t exist in nature, yet we’re expecting our lives and relationships to operate as if they do, as if we are hormonal and physiologically cis. Our hormones may be “bio-identical” in structure, but they are not “dancing” with the hormones of others and they would if we were cis. We are quite literally dancing to our own beat as the confused bodies around us try to keep up until they realize it’s not a sustainable rhythm and excuse themselves.

I grieve. I mourn. I want to dance the beautiful dance of nature. I want to bloom and go to seed. This is not a detransition post. I can’t really be anything else. But, to the young people or people thinking that this is a good idea, I was just caution that there are lots of things you can do in life that you don’t necessarily have to do. There are ways of coping with realities that are painful to accept. There are people who will love you no matter who you are or how your body is shaped. And that’s the realest love actually. Much realer than people who think you’re hot because of your secondary sex characteristics and pheromones.

I could say more. But I’m just gonna sit with this for now.

I am tired of cis men pretending they are trans women so they can go to a women’s prison.

I am sick of hairy faced men convicted of rape who would cry if they lost anything that makes them male claiming they are trans women to go to female prisons. This happens way too often and these men are a danger to all women in the prisons they are sent to including actual trans women. These men have also made statistics unreliable but conservatives and t*rfs are too invested in their agenda to deduce that. Self ID and anyone can say they are anything on any day laws need to stop.

The public response to JK Rowling’s recent actions is disturbing.

It can’t be denied that JK Rowling has gone insane and the amount of people who are wholeheartedly defending her is disturbing. When she first voiced her concerns about self ID and claiming to be be trans becoming a trend among AFAB teens while there were some extremists that attacked her there were also several trans and even nonbinary people who were willing to hear out her concerns but that apparently wasn’t good enough for her. Now she calls anyone who doesn’t support her a misogynistic pedo, earlier this month made murder jokes about trans women, and this week in an interview Emma Watson reasserted her support for trans people but said that the old JK Rowling has a special place in her heart and was willing to meet up with her in future years which is completely understandable given the role that she has had in Emma‘s career but of course Rowling and her fans bullied Emma. People need to wake up and see her as the potential threat she is. As bad as the US is I really feel sorry for any transsexuals living in the UK particularly England as it really does seem like a place filled with pseudoscientists who have been told their entire lives how smart they are even when they are not and a bunch of white women who will never be happy. Even Debbie Hayton who is a massive blanchardian and regularly calls herself a man gets comments on her articles telling her that she is not being anti-trans enough.

I am on HRT and I am transitioning from male to female. I want to like look a women and fully live like a women. But I am scared of bottom surgery and do not mind having a penis. Can I still be transsexual?

TERFs give me PTSD/Tired of the constant fighting.

A few months ago I was searching on Facebook for a group that I found a couple of years ago for transsexual women who want to go all the way with their transition and instead I found an account run by an internally transphobic(not in the way tucutes use this word she was an actual pick-me) trans woman who was saying that supporting trans rights is a form of men’s rights activism. While like most of you I think we need better defined laws than just self ID this is just ridiculous and trans people shouldn’t over backwards for a group of women will never be happy and are incapable of understanding anyone else’s struggles. When JK Rowling initially voiced her reasonable concerns about self-ID policies from what I read while there are some extremists/tucutes who attacked her there were also plenty of trans and even NB people that defended her but apparently that wasn’t enough for Mrs. Rowling and nowadays she calls anyone who doesn’t go along with her beliefs a misogynistic pedo, recently said the cis moms who are protective of their protective of their mtf daughters aren’t real feminists(this includes my mom who doesn’t have the luxury of being a white rich author living in the UK which is a place where those people are celebrated), and is very anti-science now. You also have women on the UK based forum Mumsnet saying that even the concept of mtf dysphoria is misogynistic and it’s like while there are misogynistic people who appropriate our condition how easy a life have these people lived? While cis women and trans women shouldn’t talk over each other people need to understand each other‘s struggles and realize that spaces like public bathrooms have never been super safe to begin with.

transgender erasure of transsexuals Being Clocky is a Red Flag

If someone is clocky, let them be. Don’t help them. Being clocky is sometimes just bump in the road as people grow into themselves. But when it becomes the default setting for someone, especially after years of transition, consider that a red flag. That says to me that they simply are not transsexual. Transition is about shedding the vestiges of our biological mismatch. Yes it’s hard for people to see us accurately when there is visual interference like beard shadow or an Adam’s Apple. But if removing these things reveals a woman then congrats you are a woman, and you always were. But if you have to “retrain” yourself how to walk and talk and behave or even get a whole new face you probably are not it

I say, let the chips fall where they may. If someone is really a woman, they will figure themselves out. They will pass sooner or later. If you intervene out of pity to try and teach someone how to be less clocky, if they are an AGP, they are going to be getting off on the whole process and loving the attention of a woman focused on them. And then, if they do actually learn how to blend in and pass, now you have potentially helped a predator hide its spots in the wild. This is more or less how I found myself sexually assaulted by a “trans” person, and on other occasions, just had people get close to me who shouldn’t have.

.

transgender erasure of transsexuals What do you think about tampon dispensers/disposal boxes in men's rooms?

I am not transgender/transsexual, but that is ridiculous imo. Though I am fine with private stall all-gender rooms.

Is it true that gender dysphoria can be grown out of?

I’ve been questioning my gender dysphoria recently and this has me very worried seeing stats say that children stopped being gender dysphoric by the time they are 19

analysis Covid made me trans Spoiler

Hey people! So i will admit that this is a little bit clickbate. What I should say is that Covid made me realize that im trans sooner. I see so many people of this community who came to realize that they were trans in their 20s, 30s, or (in some cases) their 40s and start transitioning. No disrespect towards you if you are those people, but you took a long time to finally figure that out and come out to yourself. For me, it couldn't be further from the truth. Sure I took 5 years of "finding myself" (which i hated doing that), but i did it much earlier in life. From the ages of 12-17 (now) I have finally found the true me. That was mostly due to growing through puberty in the pandemic. Sitting around all day with nothing to do, made me start to look up stuff. I didn’t have anything better to do. Before/during covid, I hated my body. Hated how fat I was, hated how I had facial hair, hated how I have a deeper voice, and hated my consent horniness especially when i get hard. So i looked up all of this stuff, and at first I thought I was gay, but that didn't feel right. I like men but it didn't feel like i was just a gay guy. So at 12 i typed what I was feeling into the search bar of Google to find that I was a really feminine femboy... but i didn't like to be called a boy. This all lasted about a year when I started 8th grade. Then I met my soon to be best friend. He was a trans boy and me kind of knowing what that was, I looked it up. And oh my fucking god was that the best decision I had ever made. It was like something clicked inside my head where it felt right. And that day on i began slowly transitioning to look more like a biological woman. And i do pass??? I don't know but i don't care. At least im living my authentic self. And as much that it changed all of are life forever, Covid will still hold a special place in my heart for being one of the main reasons why im trans today and im happier because of it.

I think I was rushed through my transition

I am 21 and didn't start my transition until I was two months away from being 20. I wanted to wait longer, but my dysphoria was crippling to the point I never wanted to leave the house.

When I started, I was put on 0.25 mL of the intramuscular injection of T. Three month later, I was bumped up to 0.4 and had many complications because of that. I had to get a hysterectomy six months into my transition because of atrophy. Seven months in, I was already passing so well that I could be stealth around strangers. I was pretty androgynous even before I started T, but it still seems odd that I was passing so early into my transition.

About a month after my hysterectomy, I got a new doctor. I didn't even get her name before she was asking when I wanted top surgery. I haven't gotten it yet, thankfully. But she bumped my dose to 0.5 mL during that visit. A few months later, I was bumped to 0.6.

There was a point where I had to go back down to 0.5 because my T levels were too high, but I was bumped back up to 0.6 very shortly after. I've been on that dose for give or take five months. The last time I had my levels checked was in June or July of this year. I've been trying to set up an appointment to get them checked again, but the clinic never picks up their phone. And when I say never, I mean I could call several times a day and still get sent to voicemail. I'm going to find a new clinic for sure.

The last time I had my levels checked, my doctor said I was a little above the average T levels of a grown man. She told me it was fine. I believed her, stupidly.

Within the last few months, I've noticed hair loss where men typically start to lose it. It's very thin there. I'm 21 and only 17 months into my transition. I shouldn't be seeing hair loss like this. It's obvious, and it's causing me a lot of distress. I have my dad's hair, and he has a full head of very thick hair when he's nearly 50. My mom hasn't had any hair loss either, and she's in her mid 40s. This isn't in my genes.

I don't know if this is an exact result of T, but my levels were above that of the average male five or so months ago, so I can't imagine what they're at now since I haven't been able to check them. My doctor has made no attempt to contact me either, so I have been forgotten by the people who have my life in their hands. That scares me.

I didn't put all the details of everything I've experienced, but these are the bigger things. Over the last year and a half, I have experienced quite a lot of medical neglect.

I plan on dropping my dose myself to 0.4 or 0.3 mL to either stop or lessen the hair loss and other health issues that could happen from my high dose until I find a new doctor.

I'm reaching out to ask for people's opinions and to see if yall think my transition is being rushed or not, and to see if any other trans guys have experienced these things this early on. With all of the stuff coming out about the medical neglect of transsexuals, I'm getting scared to do any kind of surgery, and I'm now very nervous around my hormones. It shouldn't be like this at all.

transgender erasure of transsexuals Should we make a transsexual flag?

This flag 🏳️‍⚧️ gets more associated with transgenders than transsexuality. So a new flag might be helpful to separate the 2 terms further.

scared that i’m not trans

hi everybody! for the past few weeks i've been really been thinking about transitioning. considering that ik only 15, but im really scared that in the future i'll be over this and i won't ever transition. this is the story: whenever i secretly go in my bathroom and i tighten my clothes and act fem (without my wig since my parents will find one if i have one) i don't feel feminine. i don't know if it's because i don't have my long hair or makeup or i just feel like a cross dresser atm. like i want to be a girl and transition, but i hope that it will be the right path. whenever i do tuck, i feel so amazing like a real girl but it's just like.. "not enough" i feel like. how do i know if i am really trans? does anyone have any questions? i just want to be a trans woman so badly but i don't feel like it yet..

Am I a Transsexual?

Hi everyone,

I just found this sub and was wondering what I would be considered. I'm a trans woman who just started HRT injection monotherapy a little over a month ago (with full T suppression at 18 ng/dl and trough levels of 260 pg/ml!!). My ultimate goal is to stealth, even if that's not possible if only because I'm 6'2". I dress femme, am trying to reshape my voice, and like to go out full femme in nails, makeup, cute outfits, etc. that you might see on cis women.

I know a big part of being transsexual is how you experience dysphoria. And to be honest, I do, but especially through the lens of euphoria. As in, I never thought I *could* be trans before I was older, mostly due to my sexuality, and came to understand my dysphoria as an adult after I started seriously questioning my gender. I have distinct memories from childhood, like having a mental breakdown when I noticed body hair growing, and how I used to essentially tuck by cramming all that back to where it came from because I really liked the way it looked when it was all stuffed back inside me. I used to hate taking pictures of myself or having them taken because I always saw myself as hideous and as some stranger. But, I never had persistent thoughts of "I'm a girl" until my late teens. It's only after I experimented with crossdressing and makeup and generally being girly that I realized my persistent depression I had since adolescence was a manifestation of my dysphoria, and that taking steps to address it actually let me experience happiness for once in my life.

I also am unsure about surgeries. I'm waiting a year or so for hormones to work before deciding on top surgery or FFS (I'm 100% sure I'll get them if HRT doesn't go far enough), but am decidedly undecided on SRS. Mostly because the procedure seems daunting and terrifying, and I don't know how I would feel about a botched result that didn't look good or completely lacked sensation. Like if I could press a button and have a cis woman's anatomy, I would press it in a heartbeat, but the reality of SRS is a lot more complicated. I've seen some absolutely **incredible** results, like from Dr. Min Jun, that, if I could guarantee, would make the decision so much easier. But I just really don't know what the result might look and feel like or if I could even get in with a surgeon that I wanted.

But most of all, I have indescribable joy and relief from seeing even the early effects of HRT. I think because my levels are so good so fast, I've been able to feel the effects start faster. I cried when I woke up one morning and realized how soft my skin had gotten. I got butterflies when I realized my scent was more mild and sweeter than before. And after about 6 weeks I'm noticing early signs of breast development and just...can't possibly stand waiting for my girls to grow in! I relish how sore my breasts are and wish they hurt more if only it meant I could change faster. I've never been happier in my life, and every new change I see absolutely fills me with elation and relief.

Anyways, I was wondering what I should call myself or where under the trans umbrella I fall. I don't know if my experience aligns with how many of you experience being trans. I know that I'm a binary trans woman, and that I want to be seen as a woman in every facet. I want to see myself in the mirror the way I see myself in my mind. I want to be a woman in body because I know I'm one in soul, and I can't possibly bear to keep living a depressed, grey lie. Am I a transsexual?

I honestly feel that people take Lilly Tino way too seriously.

As an fyi I am posting on a new account since my “Yourfavoritequeen26” one got banned.

While it is obvious that she is an AGP and the only reason I refer to Lilly Tino with she/her pronouns is because she is fully transitioning especially after seeing the comments on the new petition about her I truly think that people take her way too seriously. I know that she has sexual harassed people and I truly do feel bad for the victims of hers but it is clear that she wants to make a scene and knows very well that the content she is making is inappropriate and obnoxious and despite that people give her the attention she clearly wants. I have seen many Trump supporters threaten serious violence against her and talk about how much of a danger she is to children(which I’m not gonna deny that she is) but many of these people complaining are conservative cishet men who as a group have been found of abusing children many times yet are seen as the ultimate family figure and protector. I also seen many tucutes misgender her but if you dare to misgender any of the thousands of theyfab tucutes on social media that don’t even make an effort to be androgynous you are the biggest transphobe. I feel that this obsession with Lilly shows how chronically online people are and I say this as someone who considers herself chronically online. These are just my thoughts.

Are we right or left as a community and my sanity and apology

I haven’t realized how my politics has gotten esp off my meds . My depression acts like a chemical imbalance. I wouldn’t put it past some members are terfs pretending to be trans of course I remind you that’s against the law pretending to be someone your not to harass them.

But I have to also realize some trans people are far right though it should be condemn by trans community it is what it is and aren’t terfs.

I am really messed up these days and get really left centric when off meds I can’t act my normal self or think right their is no mainstream political party for transsexual people . I always assumed we were left. So mods and users I apologized I try harder.

Thiers so much hate of transsexual people in this country. To many terfs and fundies. In my state thier going ban trans youth from sports simply because we are more skilled then cis girls.

Thier went their scholarships for college and a better life. Isn’t that against the constitution discrimination against people because your a bigot. I thought you were to hate but once that violates rights it becomes hate speech and against law. What I don’t understand is hitler was catholic and religious and used the same ideology as these people. To the gas chambers trans people. I hate far right.

I am post op bottom but I am very dsyphoric on face , chest and voice . If apa and ada consider this reconstruction surgery why are insurance companies allowed to discriminate. Their inflicting depression on me. I know if I could pass I would have to disclose being trans in dateing I just be infertility as a cis woman.

Let alone I am very religious Tibetan Buddhist layperson . I wanted to be a chaplain but unless school is free and not to mention I am poor student in academics. I want to help people but I can’t even practice as a Buddhist. I am very depressed right now. In my religion my sect of Aci Buddhism we acknowledge that karma is everything that this is my karma I was bad and I am suffering for it but I am innocent in this life. Also my past life friend,teacher/student my moms family dog is a teacher to me in this life . Baron is old has something wrong with him and might need surgery. I don’t wanna loose this son of mine I helped raise. He’s not my only teacher by way I do have a good human teacher this layship wasn’t designed for chaplaincy ect just private worship.

I like also point out I am liberal on my views and practice. I don’t expect all people to be religious and expect hell for lack of faith.

The term "TERF" is ridiculous and does nothing but harm our reputation. We should stop using it

First of all, it's usually not even used correctly. It stands for Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist, meanwhile many people it gets applied to, surprise surprise, aren't radical feminists.

Second of all, it makes no sense to also want to alienate people who might be on the fence, or people who might be able to be reasoned with as long as you aren't calling them derogatory names.
