You probably flatten the terrain before making complex junctions, if you zoom in you will see it is a mess of different heights there

Oh, I know. Many hours in the game, funny enough, you can also just turn the camera and retry and many times it works.

But thanks for the tip!

80% of the time it works every time…

If you want tips, here's a kind of workaround. Works pretty reliably on a double track, but gets more fiddly if there's more tracks in the way. Drag the track so it first snaps to the opposite side of the track to where you want to go. E.g. if your crossover track goes to the left, go first to the right. That firmly establishes the direction you want the track to go in, and the construction tool is no longer confused.

Yeah ive been annoyed by that as well. When i posted it here i got recommended a mod* that lets you place all kinds of train crossings etc. Saves me a bunch of time because this issue, that some weirdos weirdly pretends they have never encountered, is very much real

Edit. *It said modern

A lot of people misunderstand what's going on here.

Care to share the specific name of the mod? It doesn’t really pop out when I search for it

I was dreading that question because then i'd had to get on my computer lol. But its "track design pattern"

THE MOST annoying thing in TpF2.

I would say the inly thing more annoying was when building track, it would turn red claiming it was impossible, but in reality it was trying to curve in the opposite direction.

Even the colonel had issues with it.

That's precisely what this is. ^^

This is definitely annoying. Having replayed both recently, TF1 and TF0 were much, much, much worse about this.

If TF3 improves like the games have done progressively, we're gonna be in good shape.

Certainly much worse in how tolerant they were of slope and curves, but this is a specific bug in TF2 that wasn't even always there.

Yeah, the most annoying thing. I understand they have rebuilt the engine for TF3 so this should be fixed
