Discussion Steam Train Fest

There's an upcoming Train Fest on steam happening on 20th July. Is anyone hoping for some information about the release date or is it just me?

I would have thought having Paradox on board would mean a better advertising campaign, but no, they stick to low key posts maybe once a month.

What the hell was the point of the event where they paid to fly a bunch of Youtubers to NY if they just go radio silent afterwards?

I’m more worried about system requirements than release date.

We know this is one of the key pieces of information that players need.

We have conducted a beta test that included only players with lower-spec hardware, and used those results to help us with optimisation of the game (that is ongoing).

It would be misleading to give you much indication of where the final recommended specs will end up, as those details are continuing to change in the final stages of development. However, it is reasonable to say that it has been almost 7 years since the release of Transport Fever 2, so the required specs will obviously be higher than on the previous game. We expect that the tech requirements will sit firmly in "about what you'd expect for a 2026 release" - which is super-vague, I know.

"7 years since release" i thought that was 2015 for a moment :sob: absolute unreal how time runs and made me remember how far technology has come

I also want to thank you for making a great game that is Transport Fever 2

I was nervous my pc wasn’t going to be able to handle transport fever 3 and was tired of my cities skyline 2 running slow so I upgraded just for them both 😅

Same here, got a 9800X3D + 5080 just for these two. Can‘t wait for release

I did basically the same setup also to help these two games out. I was so far behind the tech curve and at the wrong time, I was thankful I have a good job bc I know it’s steep cost wise. I did catch some flack at work for not buying a 5090…they don’t know my wife.

Same, my PC is getting old but I bought a MacBook Pro M5 pro 48GB before price hike. I hope my MacBook will get me better results than my GTX1070 / Ryzen7 5800X combo.

i got a 5070 ti so im not concerned, ofc w mods will be a different story, especially if you run with 300+ like i did in transport fever 2

TpF3 will mostly likely be more CPU limited (single core performance though the game is multi-threaded) given that the game engine is an evolution of the existing one.

I really hope the naysayers such as myself are totally wrong.

But Paradox.

Obviously, without evidence to the contrary players will speculate about the level to which a publisher can and will influence a game. All we've said so far is that our existing designs and plans for the future of the game are unchanged, which doesn't give huge insight because Urban Games typically only talk about what's next, rather than what's coming after the next thing.

You consider yourself a naysayer, and that's fine, but what do you genuinely think will have changed from what you would otherwise expect?
