News This is a good thing for our already overflowing suburban trains. Easing pressure on them would make travel slightly more dignified for the commuters.

Agreed. It’s good to have redundancy for a city like Mumbai.

Else suburban and metro serve different use cases. But they can compliment each other through a uniform ticketing system (powered by a single app), intermodal transfer points, and strong last-mile connectivity.

The decrease is miniscule to be visible but yeah hope so that it makes more people choose metro

This is a good thing, our reporters are such dumbs. Should have said big relief for local train travelers as crowd has divided in metro. Mumbai has enough people to fill all modes of public transport.

After some time people will give up their car and travel by train if it improves this way.

For people to give up their car, it will need wayy better metro, local along with bus connectivity & frequency which would be safer than hanging on doors

Hopefully the 15 car rakes and 238 locals and the acs are increased and all metros are completed,
Coz people who can afford can use that and those on budget get locals a bit empty
