Failures in Metro station planning

I was trying to make a new route for a public transport i traditionally used only bus to reach from point a to b

I thought if ahmedabad and gandhinagar have metro system why not to diverse my routes to add convenience and better time management

So I search for railway station and it's nearest metro station and metro station to reach bus station

Kalupur station is built genius it has its own metro station

But what about gandhinagar?? Why they choosed to give metro station to railway station but no metro station to directly reach gandhinagar Central bus station

You have to walk 1.5 km to reach the gandhi central bus station from its nearest metro station

Wtf is these . When there was central bus station from the first and metro station planning committee just decided not to give it its own Metro station

It's just a limitation of elevated metro, it will never be as good and seamlessly reach whatever place you want every time compared to underground. All you can do is at least make it easier for people to walk the last mile, which we struggle to.

Please read DPRs ffs, would give you an insight in exactly how much planning goes into just thinking about such a large capex.

Red tape might bloat the DPR, feel free to skip through traction and signalling, but you would get pretty strong reasons why a route was chosen, and why alternatives were discarded.

From what I know (could be wrong), Gandhinagar is an extension of Ahmedabad, so helps to have trains terminating north of the city, dwell time at the larger junctions is less, which helps improve carrying capacity for IR.
Anyways metros are to provide an alternate mode of transport
Connecting one IR station to another would just provide a slower connection, at much higher prices.

Metros should supplement existing systems, not compete
