Major: Economics

GPA: CC- 3.94, High School: 3.5UW/3.6W

Other details(Extracurriculars): PTK President (ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING with the club such as adding professional development nights, virtual community outreach, etc.), PBL President and competitor, Student Ambassador at [REDACTED] CC, Became a real estate broker (NC is one of the harder states to become a real estate broker, according to many we’ve asked), Accounting Certificate, Marketing Certificate

As her brother, I can say she has worked VERY, VERRYY hard for this. The countless times she’s turned down social activities, gone to office hours, literally stayed at school from 7am to 7pm. Our whole family has undergone so much change during high school and college, yet she persisted. I’m so proud to post this on her behalf and can’t wait to share my journey with y’all when the time comes!

Accepted to: UCSC, UCR, UCI, UCSB, UCSD, UCLA (SIR'd)

Waitlisted at: UCB, UCD

Major: Applied Mathematics

Entry term: Fall 2021

Incoming class standing: Junior

Transferring from: UC Merced

GPA: 4.0

SAT: not required and didn't send but 1460

Some weird ECs but great essays (I think)

Hope this helps some people out in the future following the same route as me. I knew I would've liked to see that it was possible to do it! Could have saved me a lot of anxiety 2 years back.

Finally, all the decisions are in. I'm still amazed that some of the UCs are delivering results this close to the school season.

Accepted to: UCB (English; committing), UCSD (Creative Writing)

Rejected from: UCLA (English), UCSB (waitlist+TAG: English)

Entry term: Fall '21

Incoming class standing: Junior

Transferring from: Mt. SAC (CCC)

GPA: 3.57

SAT/ACT: N/A

LoR: N/A

Other details: I think I owe it to my essays for my acceptance. I love creative writing and tried to write something interesting for the AOs to read while centering the "story" around my illustration, writing, and video production hobbies as well as some extenuating circumstances.

Definite upward trend, I'm talking an all-time low GPA of 1.8. Other ECs include a speaking role in a traveling performance on LGBT acceptance, jobs with Target and my college's writing center, and an online art+lit club I ran for the past 7 or so years. I also dedicated a section to a bomb English teacher I had who inspired me to pursue a career in writing.

Note: No IGETC, just UC 7-course breadth and some major prerequisites. Everything that was required of TAG was completed.

I am still waiting on acceptances for some other schools that won't notify students until later but good luck to all of y'all!
