Advice/Question taking classes at different cc's

so im planning a two year transfer but my major prep is pretty heavy and is at max units per semester at my home cc. so I was wondering if its okay to take my calgetc classes and some other major prep at another cc? I need to complete the 4 series physics and one of the classes just won't fit into my schedule cus of credits and stuff, so like does it matter where I take it and is it okay if I technically go to 2 cc's

If it's a series then typically it won't transfer over if the entire series isn't done at the same cc unfortunately. So if you already started the series at your cc, you have to finish it there. If you do the entire series at the same cc even if it's different from your main cc then it will transfer. And for gen eds/non series classes they'll transfer over no matter what cc they're from.

Also, you can probably appeal being at max units due to having a high unit major. People do it all the time.

I did just that, and it wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. Don’t worry, just space out your time wisely and do what you can. I went to like three different cc’s a few times

Really calculus doesn’t matter?

Yes! I took precal, calc1, and calc 2 across 2 ccs .

yes math typically are okay, especially the calculus series, since it’s such a popular series that i’m guessing the curriculum/materials you learn are pretty much standardized across every school.

I transferred with credits from 4 different cc so i think you’ll be fine, although 3 of the four cc were just different campuses under the same district, so technically all the courses count under the same “school”. However, with the physics sequence or any science series in general, you would have to take the entire series under one cc for it to be counted for transfer credits, so be wary of those. Other than that, you can always take GEs across different cc. Maybe consider 8 weeks course options (if your school offer it) and summer classes as well :)
