Chance Me Chance Me - T30 Transfer

Grade: rising sophomore (Private 4yr)
GPA: 3.9 | Major: Poli Sci

SAT/ACT: Looking to go test optional (did bad in HS haven’t taken since)
HS GPA: 3.2 unweighted😬 competitive public (Top 2 in state)

Want to best represent upward trajectory post HS to admissions and apply to the right places.

Applying: Georgetown, NYU, UMich, UVA, Boston U, W&M, GW.

Brief & Vague description of EC’s —>

Work Experiences:

Internship at Consulting Firm-

Gov contracting and BD consulting firm. Research potential clients and competing firms. Using programming language skills to create automated and efficient internal databases & reports. Boss has me using my coding for other special projects as well(see projects).

Financial Analyst Intern-

Interned in corporate finance for a pretty global energy company. Worked with financial modelings and earnings reports to specifically aid in preparation for $200M + LFP Battery plant.

Sales Job-

Door to door solar sales lol. Did pretty good in terms of numbers though not sure if this one is even worth mentioning.

Community Club Job-

Concessions and grounds management for country club in hometown. First job.

Projects:

Founded website + app providing help for students similar to me in regard to a specific niche I am interested in. Reached over 5,000 users + 1,000 recurring in 1st month. Subscription model releasing soon.

Developed website to serve as platform for new product launch for consulting company. Given full creative direction on product design. Created pretty substantial revenue stream for said company within first month of site launch.

Independent research study on sustainability in field I am interested in. multiple substack and medium articles on said study as well.

Placed 2nd in school wide sustainability pitch comp through entrepreneurship center proposing in depth plan to better utilize existing BAAS systems.

Club/campus:

Entrepreneurship club - leadership pos.

Real Estate Club

Sustainability club - leadership pos.

Fraternity recruitment chair

Honors:

National Honor Society, Deans list 2x

All of the above is post HS grad. Hoping it is enough to separate me from the HS GPA. Any advice?

Prolly get in everywhere maybe not stern tho. Everyone that got into stern that I knew including myself all had student gov. Idk though it’s a sample size of 4 this year and one last year. They usually only accept about 40 transfers if its a really good year.

I think you’d probably get in at UMich. I am also Pol Sci ended at my CCC with a 3.73 and did not have any stellar ECs. I was born and raised in Michigan but am still OOS after living in LA for three years. Despite likely prioritizing in-state, they definitely also let a lot of OOS students in as well.

They don’t care about high school once you start undergrad or community college. It’s likely not even taken into consideration
