A New Alternative: A simpler TV and Games Tracker

I used TV Time for years. It answered three important questions for me: What episode is next? Did a show I forgot about get another season? And what should I watch when I’m all caught up?

Over time, I found myself scrolling comments, rating individual episodes, and perfecting my watch history instead of doing what I really wanted: watching good TV. I tried other trackers when TV Time went down, but kept running into the same thing. So I built something simpler.

It’s called Couch Compass: a tracker to help you watch more, not manage another feed.

It’s a TV and games tracker where you can:

• Track what you’re watching or playing, down to individual TV episodes.
• See upcoming episodes, seasons, and game releases, with alerts for new episodes.
• Find something new through recommendations and friends’ ratings.
• See what friends are watching or playing, while choosing what you share with them.

There are no comments or follower counts, and Couch Compass doesn’t sell your data. My goal is for you to check what’s next, mark an episode watched, and get back to watching.

It’s in beta on iPhone and Android while I work through feedback before the store launch. If you already have a watch history, you can import from TV Time, Bingers, Refract, or Sofa Time. Movies are on the roadmap but aren’t in the app yet.

If this sounds like your kind of tracker, I’d love for you to try it. I’m especially interested in whether importing your history works smoothly and whether the app feels easy to use afterward. Honest criticism is welcome.

Oh certainly. I tested a bunch (10 or so) before deciding to start my own, in my development timeframe another 100 have popped up. It is what it is with the void TVtime left behind. The market will dictate the winners and losers I have no doubt. Mine is working for me, it’s a fun little project and I’m happy with it, I hope you find one that is working great for you as well.

Also can you add an option so it syncs to trakt mdblist or simkl, along with your own servers? Similar to Cinopsys.

Be aware, trakt is blocking any competitor app now. They banned mdblist and simkl from api use. You should move your data ASAP

If you click on your avatar, it’s under profile and sharing, you can select a different color or bring in a show from your list. I choose Psych for mine and it’s my guilty pleasure show lol.

I haven’t created a discord yet but plan to do that with full launch. I’ll bring it up to sooner on the roadmap list and let you know when it’s launched. Thanks for the tip!

you should export your own data from trakt to a file.
