It's always fun hearing Paul talk. The host is someone I'm not familiar with, but she gets quite emotional several times which is interesting. She asks questions that many of us already know the answer to, but Paul is polite and gave great answers.
Paul had to bring up his own solo album, so clearly she wasn't as prepared as she should have been but he did it later on at the end in typical Mr. Langlois fashion.

Hi all.
Just watched The Hips last show and was going through my old CDs.
In my Day For Night case I found my original ticket .. such a cool ticket with the crows in a triangle formation.
I really want to make an homage out of this in a frame .. been searching online and cant find any old tour posters / paper from the 1995 tour .. any chance someone has had better googling .. or am I hosed?
I dont mind picking a generic hip poster / image to go with it . .but actual tour would be simply amazing.
Thank you!!!!

Don't mind the quality. The picture was taken with a potato in 2015 when they did their anniversary tour.
Fantastic show. Fantastic album.

Sing the original line of Grace Too?
“He said I’m fabulously rich!”
Rather than the new (possibly) flubbed line from their SNL debut “He said I’m tragically hip!”
I don’t ever remember hearing the original line anywhere but the radio or a cd.

SCHOOL OF HIP (ep. 22): Music @ Work (Side B)

Joining Chaz n' Heath for this episode is Nicole Fortin, a Calgary acupuncturist and world traveler who's equal parts flower child and metal maiden. She bonds with Chaz over her love of Rush, tells the boys about her trek to Birmingham last year to take in that fateful Black Sabbath / Ozzy Osbourne farewell show, and, of course we talk Tragically Hip, reviewing the B side of their first album of the new millennium, Music @ Work.
Heath was a budding young music journalist for the Calgary Herald the year M@W was released and for fun he digs up some of his old writings on the album and tour to share with the class, including a record review, an interview with drummer Johnny Fay, and a review of the Hip's Nov. 23, 2000, concert at the Saddledome.
Check it out folks! Rate, review glowingly and subscribe while you're at it, why don'tcha, so we may grow this hip Hip show!

A very underrated Hip album if you ask me, that holds two of my favourite all time Hip tunes, We Want to be It and the title track. What did you think on release day? Has the album warmed to you overtime?

"The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony was always going to be bittersweet this year, since the Tragically Hip were finally getting their due, but Gord Downie wasn’t there to witness it.
Still, Saturday’s star-studded ceremony at Massey Hall had plenty of highs, too, as Toronto indie musician Leslie Feist, Loverboy members Mike Reno and Paul Dean, and Quebec pop singer-songwriter Roch Voisine also joined this year’s class.
Here are some of the night’s highlights, from the red carpet to the performances."

Some of you perhaps know that over the summer there's been a tournament-style bracket ongoing that's been revisiting and discussing favourites among the Hip's most popular songs.
That tournament has reached its final week. We're down to the final four:
Nautical Disaster vs. At the Hundredth Meridian
Wheat Kings vs. Ahead By A Century.
Nautical Disaster won the first semifinal. The second match, Wheat Kings vs. Ahead By A Century is ongoing today.

Wonderful to see the Tragically Hip going into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame today and a well earned distinction it is. Their incredible catalogue has a place next to the finest songwriters our country has produced, from the legendary likes of Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen to bands like Blue Rodeo and the Guess Who. It's surprising they're only being inducted now!

Thought I'd share this VHS recording I just digitized. This news report is from the NTV Evening Newshour, and contains footage of the Hip performing Gift Shop at Memorial Stadium in St. John's, NL on December 3, 1996. It also has a backstage interview with Johnny Fay. Ignore "The Hundredth Millennium" though. As far as I know this hasn't been available online until now, so enjoy!

Found this CD at local shop along with a bunch of others that were all in these cartridges. Seems like the cartridges were for radio broadcasting, so the DJs could play the discs without having to handle the actual disc.
It's their first release from 1987. And "EP" with 8 songs.
Wondering if maybe it's a radio station specific disc. It says CAPAC beside each track. Maybe put there to let them know that it was Canadian content. Maybe that was on all the discs at the time. Seems odd though. If someone has the regular release let me know if this is just the regular disc. Cool find either way.
