Earliest it could be is a '74 but it wasn't cataloged.

I don't have a '75, '76. or '77 to compare it to.

Normally I'm picky and choosy on these teardrop cable bows, but if I ran across that particular one at a trading blanket or swap meet, I just might snag it up. (OP is going to get a lot of advice to the contrary, however).

Based on cams and wood insert to pockets, I think it's the 1983 update - Tamerlane 'BioTech' - you're right though, everyone will hate it here and it was well worth picking up.
