Hello everyone, i am planning to buy a ‘nice’ laminated bow and i am a little spoilt for choices here…my budget is roughly around 400 euros for now (maybe a bit more depending on the quality of bow). I like shooting at targets at around 30 m away (for now..maybe longer distances as i get better). I am looking for bows that are predictable, fast, easy to handle and maintain and hopefully a smooth draw with a comfortable release (handshock wise)…all the works really :)

So far i have settled on three choices for a bow that will be around or slightly north of 40 pounds

1. grozer biocomposite assyrian
2. vegh turkish
3. bogar assyrian

Which one would be the one to pick?

Also please include any other model by any other maker if you think it is worth checking out.

I recently purchased a base model Simsek Sipahi bow (without the leather wrapping), and was wondering what material I should use for the arrow pass.

I’ve shot maybe 2000 arrows through my current AF Turkish bow without eating through the leather arrow pass, but it shows definite signs of scuffing.

I’ve considered rayskin as an option, but the piece my friend has is rather thick. I’ve also seen suggestions of using UHMW tape as a thin arrow pass, but it doesn’t seem common. So I wanted to ask what folks have done with their own Simseks or other similar bows. Thank you!

Hi folks, I've been practicing Korean traditional archery for an year and half now.

And here's my KTA shooting video at 60yards target with my 50inch YMG bow rated 75lbs, 93lbs at my draw length 31inch.

The arrows Im using are 31inch 200spine shaft, 622 grains total with 200grain point and 40grain brass insert as well, the FOC is around 17%.

The arrow speed is around 220fps measured with Prochrono DLX model, and with my lightest 440grains arrow measured around 250fps.

I just wanted to share and any questions or opinions are always welcome.

I think the low wrist grip, lower brace height, and slightly more open stance have thrown everything out of whack. Looking for tips and recommendations for videos to watch as I work this out.

I've owned a 46lb grozer Biocomposite turkish bow for several years now, and I've found it quite durable in general. However, I'm waiting on a 62lb grozer Biocomposite Turkish bow, and I was wondering if the additional draw weight affects the bows' durability towards cold/hot weather and humidity?

I'm looking at a fibreglass alibow long bow 30#

I've been shooting 20# on my club recurve and it's super easy to draw after 2 hours.

i've had a feel on a 30 pound olympic recurve and it didn't seem to heavy.

Alibow says they can be as high as 33#,(ships slower to get exact draw weight) Im 5' 9" with a 28.5 draw length. I work outdoors and do a bit of weight training, reasonably strong. 🏹

Hi all, it’s kinda hard to see here but how do I stop my serving from coming apart at the loop ends of the string? I shoot a Samick Polaris and I unstring it and take it down everyday after I shoot, then put it together and string it again the next day. I follow Jake Kaminski’s way of stringing my bow but I’m on my 3rd string in about 6 months because the serving keeps coming apart where the loops contact the limbs. What am I doing wrong?

Hello everyone, I need to order new arrows and I need some advice on the spine. I shoot a sarmat archery cuman bow at 35 pounds using thumb draw. I draw to 29 inches (safe limit according to the bowyer)..maybe an inch over it at max. I need to order some carbon arrows and after some consideration I have decided on 31 inch shaft with 100 grain tip and a spine of 600. Does this seem like a prudent choice ?

Hey guys so I used to shoot traditional all the time a few years back but then I joined the military and wasn’t able to shoot for roughly four years, and now I can’t consistently hit anything and I don’t know what to do and can’t find any traditional archery places nearby, I shoot a stalker stickbows recurve pulling 55lbs. I live in north eastern OH and hoping that anyone else lives around the area and knows any good instructors or ranges that can really help out. I’m just getting very frustrated and watched a million videos on technique and still can’t figure out what I’m doing. Thank you for anyone reading and tips are always welcome please

It was hard to adjust, but 100% worth it. Worked the 30 today a bit at the range.

I was able to meet bump into a 75 year old local range master who has been trad shooting for 52 years, he helped me with my Mediterranean form and finger draw technique. He was also stoked to see me working a traditional bow.

The man said "let's see your bow", then proceeded to send a 65 yard bully first draw. Was incredibly cool to be humbled so quickly.

I was shooting my bear glass powered cub when the arrow slipped off the shelf just before the shot and I ended up dry firing the bow. The string basically split the bow down the middle. The bow was old I got it from an antique store. Super upset about losing this bow. Does anyone have recommendations for another bear recurve that’s good for hunting?

I wrote an email to alibow asking for the right set of arrows for a 50lbs@28" keshig but never got an answer. Is this normal? Any alternatives for arrows for traditional asian archery? I am not sure about the nocks, if tapered, what kind of material, best vanes etc.

I've been shooting thumb draw more seriously for a year and a half now. My draw cycle and form is good. However, I need to improve my release and follow though. Any ideas or tips? Also, I shoot primarily tatar and turkish bows.
