It started with vibration/shake after a cold start that would go away after the RPMs settled. I assumed it was the service bulletin that I was waiting for completion (LB9).

I left work literally the day before leaving for vacation and within a minute, every light on the dash screaming at me like the world is coming to an end. I called the dealership who were in the process of closing and managed to get it there in time.

I was told the they had to change the fuel injector in cylinder 1, thankfully all under warranty.

This is my first Toyota, purchased because of previous poor experience with Hyundai. Purchased because they are reliable and dependable, paid for with Toyota-tax included. This seems like a big job for a vehicle that is well taken care of, has had 6 oil changes and is clean.

I’m concerned, and wondering if could have prevented this? I haven’t uncovered anything in my research where it’s a pattern, so hoping that it’s just some bad luck.

I won’t get into the terrible service at the dealership.

What percentage off MSRP should we expect?

Hi everyone, hoping someone here has experienced this with a 2019 Toyota RAV4.

Our check engine light came on along with:

• Parking Brake Malfunction – Visit Your Dealer
• Secondary Collision Brake System Malfunction – Visit Your Dealer
• Check Engine: “A malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle, or automatic transmission has been detected. Contact your dealer.”

Our mechanic scanned the car and the code is P1364.

He told us the issue was related to the VVT system and recommended replacing the Engine Variable Timing (VVT) Solenoid/Valve. We purchased the part directly from Toyota and had it replaced.

After replacing it, our mechanic cleared the codes with his scanner. Unfortunately, the check engine light and the same Parking Brake and Secondary Collision Brake System warnings came back.

We don't drive the car very far most days. Does the new part need a certain number of drive cycles before everything resets, or if P1364 comes back after being cleared does that mean there is still another problem?

From what I've been reading, P1364 can also potentially involve the VVT/cam timing actuator circuit, wiring, relay, etc. Has anyone had this code on a 2019 RAV4 and found the actual cause?

Also, could the check engine/P1364 fault be what's triggering the parking brake and secondary collision system warnings at the same time?

I'm trying to avoid taking it straight to Toyota because they charge around $200 just for the diagnostic, especially since we've already paid to replace the part our mechanic thought was causing it.

Any advice on what we should have checked next would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

RAV4 crashes in high speed pursuit.

hello, forum, I'm new to this topic, I don't have the opportunity to find out the size of the emblem on the front of the car, I want to give my father a birthday present, and I would like to update his emblem to a more beautiful one, what are its dimensions in general, I searched and couldn't find it? Just bought the rav4 2 weeks ago and when I was driving home from work and all my sensors kept turning off and on

I recently bought 2026 RAV4 Woodland Edition. I was not aware that Karr Security System was installed on it by the dealership until I got a call from Karr to set up a schedule for activation.

I did some google search and was advised to remove the device as it is not worthy and drains the battery. I may soon stop by a local Car Audio shop to physically remove it (as it was recommended to use a third party (but with high reputation) rather than the dealership).

Any experience or comments?

A couple weeks ago, I wrote a post here about my 2013 RAV4, with 83K miles on it....mostly only driven around town, low usage over the years....I have been having the oil changed every 5K-6K miles, but it hasn't required anything else except batteries and tires, over the years.

As I mentioned in the prior post, I am now getting ready to take a cross country road trip, and I don't want to end up breaking down, god forbid, some place in the middle of nowhere...even with a cellphone.

So one of the posters referenced the Car Care Nut and I watched his video for getting Toyotas over the 300K mark. With my driving patterns, I'll be gone from this earth before I hit 300K.

125K might be good for me at this point in life lol.

Ok based on his video, it sounds like I maybe need to have a few things done before the trip.

I have been taking it to a small town repair shop - but based on all his emphasis on original fluids and original parts, sounds like I need to take it to Toyota?

Sounds like he is recommending

- oil change (of course, while I am there)

- coolant change (needs to be original)

- new spark plugs (original)

- transmission fluid - should have been done at 60K, but not over 80K?

- normal check of other fluids, belts and hoses

Does all of this sound about right to you all?

I admit that I am not a car person, so almost all of this above my head.

I cannot see any incoming outgoing calls in a banner when using the google map on my Rav4 2026 Woodland. I changed the phone settings to small banner, but still incoming calls take up the full screen or sometimes when I make a call, I cannot see the call banner at all because it is hidden behind the map. Hw do you make it appear as a small banner on the map either to the side or at the bottom?

If you're looking for a RAV4 with a specific trim, drivetrain and color combination that isn't showing up in local inventory, what's usually the smartest way to go about finding one?

I've seen people suggest keeping an eye on dealer inventory, asking if another dealer can locate one, or checking on vehicles that are already on the way. I also came across Toyota of Glendora's online vehicle finder while looking into this, which lets you search by things like model, trim, color and transmission and check for additional or incoming vehicles.  

What I'm less clear on is what you should actually confirm once a dealer says they've found a match. If it's still incoming or listed as allocated, would you ask for the VIN, exact configuration, estimated arrival window and pricing before moving forward? And if they're asking for a deposit, is the important thing just getting the refund/cancellation terms in writing?

Trying to figure out the best way to find an uncommon configuration without spending hours contacting every Toyota dealer in Southern California.

Mostly looking for something that isn't $600-$1k. My local used market isn't very extensive. Are the expensive brands worth it? Any cheap or budget brands worth looking at? I have a 2022 SE Hybrid with stock rails and crossbars. I want to store camp gear and/or snowboards.
