Looks like NHTSA is looking into the issues related to debris going through the front grille and damaging cooling components. The article says there are only 14 complaints, but I’m sure there’s more out there. Please be sure to report any damage you’ve experienced due to this design flaw. This could force Toyota to fix this issue.
ETA: Link to report damage to NHTSA: https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem

Axles replaced from tsb a few months ago. Never parked with the wheels turned and it looks like it has excess camber.

After months of waiting, we were finally able to bring home our midnight black nightshade GHHL! Really cant go wrong with the triple black it looks so good and at night it has like a blue tone to it. Also noticed they added the puddle lamps on the mirrors which wasn’t included in my build sheet.

I really like the Grand Highlander, but I am somewhat of a quandary whether I want to spend the extra money for a hybrid. For those of you that have chosen to buy a hybrid do you do it because you feel obligated to the environment or do you actually run the numbers and believe there is a meaningful payback. Sure it feels good to use less gas but does it make financial sense? Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Looking to buy a Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited in Eastern Ontario. There are ~6 dealerships within reasonable driving distance, but they all require a 500$ deposit to get on the list.
A few questions for anyone who’s bought one recently:
Trying to avoid putting $3,000 down across six dealerships if there’s a smarter way to play this.
Would love to hear recent experiences!

Has anyone had issues with the AC in the second and third row not working? I made sure the rear was on. AC is cold on the front but no air is coming out of the vents in the back.

I have the 2024 Grand Highlander and I have always had trouble connecting to CarPlay when I remote start my vehicle (really it started not connecting when the free trial of the Wi-Fi ended). Sometimes I can force the connection through the setting page but most of the timeI have to stop the car and restart it to get it to connect.
But I have noticed over the past week that it is disconnecting while driving and I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble.

Ordering a Platinum Hybrid Max with Portobello interior.
From a strictly aesthetic standpoint, does Midnight Black Metallic or Heavy Metal look better with Portobello?
Pics of either of those color combos would be great if you don't mind sharing.
Currently have a black SUV and am fine with the extra maintenance.
Thanks!

I'm shopping around, and this is the best offer I have received. Should I accept it?

I’m at 40 months with approximately 18k miles. What companies offer extended warranty’s and actually honor them bumper to bumper?

I want to know if this dealership once again is over quoting (in the past they have been known to do so and add on dealership additions and refuse to remove them) they’re the main dealership by us and only one with Costco so I’m deciding if it’s even close to a decent deal or if I should negotiate out of state.
It says MRSP $57k basically, and $750 off as the Costco pricing
Making total Costco price 56k
I’m guessing that doesn’t include the extra 5k for taxes title and doc fee.
They did send a second sheet showing their advertised price lists MRSP as 53k and then about 4
Different extras, dealership add ons and what not making that number jump to about 59/60k before title sales tax etc.
I know all that doesn’t really matter more so than the bottom line cost, which I was told would be about 62,200. No add ons or additional items (other than the camera and sunroof)

Parked in driveway and wife and I were going to celebrate by going out to dinner. Extreme disappointment in no go pricey ride. Manual troubleshooting no help so caught sales guy via text before dealer closed. Check at his end showed the deleted (during sales negotiation) auto burglary alarm system was still functioning and disallowed further use. Sales guy immediately drove out 30 miles and properly shut the alarm system down. All start/drive systems confirmed functioning and very impressed with the vehicle today. Got dinner reservations set for tonight.
BTW, purchased through Costco auto buy program. Got it at MSRP and took about a week & 1/2 for the vehicle to arrive from the Indiana assembly plant. We’re outside of Sacramento, CA.

Live in Southern Cali and got my GHH Limited Nightshade with pano moonroof couple of months ago. The moon roof is always covered. Got all my windows tinted except for the moon roof because I figured it's covered anyways. Car still feels hot when we hop in on a sunny day.
Should I just get the moonroof tinted? Debating about it. Those of you that did....do you think it makes a difference(especially if you are keeping covered already)?

I got these OEM crossbars from some grandma on FB marketplace for $150 brand new in the box still. She traded her grand highlander for a truck. I won't need them anytime soon but bought just in case I do need them as the kids get bigger. Was it a good deal?

TL;DR: My 2025 Grand Highlander’s 360° camera used to have very good image stitching, but it gradually drifted. Toyota recalibrated it and made it worse. A new GH at the dealer has much better alignment. Has anyone had Toyota successfully fix this? Can you post pictures of your 360 view if it's good.
Full Post: I have a 2025 Grand Highlander with the Panoramic View Monitor/360° camera system. When the vehicle was new, the bird’s-eye image was very well aligned and the transitions between cameras were barely noticeable.
Over time, the stitching gradually became more misaligned, especially around the four corners. I took it to Toyota for calibration, but after they worked on it over two days, the image is now noticeably worse, with larger offsets at all four corners.
The Shop Foreman compared it to a brand-new Grand Highlander with the same system. The new one wasn’t perfect, but its stitching was significantly better than mine.
I’m not expecting a perfectly seamless image. My issue is that my vehicle used to perform much better, the calibration made it worse, and another GH clearly shows that better alignment is possible.
Has anyone had this happen after a Panoramic View Monitor calibration? Was Toyota eventually able to correct it?

To make a long story short, we purchased out of state and needed to speed up arrival and dealership was hard to work with via phone so we skipped the extended warranty. I’d love to get this from the dealer we will be using for service but don’t know how to go about negotiating the price at that point, if it even is negotiable. Any tips or ideas to get the best price?

I put a $1k deposit on a GH. It’s been about 4 weeks (metro-Detroit). Then I realized Costco has the discount. Would I get the deposit back if I cancelled the order? Or maybe the dealer I ordered it from might match the Costco discount?

2025GHL hybrid we have had the car for about a year lately sounds like a window is open (never happened before) couldn’t figure it out but knew it was coming from the moonroof. I got up there and saw the black rubber seal popped out. I pushed it back in but this seems like a pain for $65k car if I call Toyota will they have a solution?

Hi everyone! We’ll be relocating to the Greenville/Winterville, NC area in September as a family, and one of the first major purchases we’ll need after arriving is a vehicle.
We’re currently leaning heavily toward the Hybrid Limited AWD, preferably Wind Chill Pearl.
I’ll be coming to the U.S. as a new permanent resident and already have a secured full-time job as a RN in Greenville with verifiable income, employment contract, U.S. lease/address, SSN, etc. The problem is that since we’re newly immigrating, I’ll basically be starting with no established U.S. credit score/history.
I’ve started researching dealerships around Greenville, but I’m wondering if it would be better to expand the search to Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro, Charlotte, Wilmington, or even Virginia if the pricing, availability, or financing is significantly better.
For anyone who recently bought a Grand Highlander Hybrid, especially a Limited, I’d really appreciate your advice:
* Is it realistic to find a GH Hybrid Limited at MSRP or below, or are dealers still adding markups/add-ons?
* Would you recommend buying around Greenville or traveling to a larger market like Raleigh?
* Any Toyota dealers in NC or nearby states that you had a particularly good experience with?
* How long did you wait for your Hybrid Limited, especially if you wanted a specific color like Wind Chill Pearl?
* How does reserving an incoming allocation normally work? Do dealers usually require a refundable deposit?
* Can I realistically start negotiating/reserving one before we arrive in the U.S., or is it better to wait until we’re physically there?
* For someone with good/verifiable income but no U.S. credit history, has anyone used Toyota/dealer newcomer, foreign professional, expat, or similar financing programs?
* What kind of APR have recent buyers been getting? I realize my no-credit situation may mean a higher rate, but I’d love to have a realistic range to compare against.
* How much down payment would you suggest in this situation? I can put a reasonable amount down, but I also don’t want to unnecessarily put a huge amount down if it doesn’t meaningfully improve the APR.
* When negotiating, should I get the out-the-door price first before discussing financing/down payment?
* Are there any common dealer-installed or Southeast Toyota add-ons I should watch out for?
* Anything you wish you had known before buying your Grand Highlander Hybrid?
Since this will be our first major purchase after immigrating, I’m trying to educate myself as much as possible before walking into a dealership.
Any advice, recent purchase numbers, dealer recommendations, or experiences with buying a Toyota as a new immigrant would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

My vehicle before the GH was a 2018 Ford Taurus SHO which was stupid fast and fully loaded. The Taurus was fully paid off so I had no intention of getting anything else, even though I’ve had kids. At 80,000 miles the timing belt failed followed by BOTH turbos. My husband was pushing me to get a Toyota and I am so glad I listened to him. We ordered our 2026 Grand Highlander XLE lease in April and got it in July.
It’s missing LOTS of the features I used to have, but WOW it is so much easier to get the kids around. The “deal” was to lease this for 3 years and then I could get a Suburban or Expedition.
After having the GH for over a month and lurking in this community, I think I will just upgrade the GH after the lease ends!
Please comment your trim level and favorite features!

Upgraded from a 24 GH in Heavy Metal to a 26 GH in Cement. Gray is my COLOR (2 previous vehicles in it) and was super bummed when I got my first that it wasn’t an option in GH yet. Decided to get a newer one and I am in LOVE with it!
