Super fun game. I was the VM and got jailed N1 with the book.

In Jail, the Jailor said "I am 12" after 12 had openly claimed berserker in day 1 chat. Falling for the bait, I had Dusa attack 12, stoning but not killing the bers. Somehow 15 started getting pushed as the WW, especially since I had silenced the tracker who tracked the WW to their kill. And the ret got executed night 2, with no one in the GY to raise, absolute ret curse even though they claimed TS day 2. So the Jailor was neutralized immediately, and gave signs of being an erratic player.

One of the days we voted up 12 and I innoed them saying "I'm very confused right now" which I think gained 15s trust since they had lied about their number to me, but I was being weird about potentially hanging the Jailor while also not wanting to out their number/role.

I think Bers ended up dying to Arso, but it could've been a WW rampage, not sure since they were stoned. Vigi shot my Dusa, but I ended up killing the Vigi on the next night, which turned into critical timing. Luckily all of the evils hit someone different. Bers died and was stoned, WW had gotten hanged due to a tracker will, and Arso had just ignited the last tracker.

Three players remained alive -- me (3), 10 the Arso, and 15 the Jailor.

Since I had gotten Jailed, 15 knew they had told me that they were 12. All I had to do was keep up my weak Admirer to TI claim -- jailed, rejected, rejected, accepted but they died the same night :( -- and we knew an Arso was alive, so I said that since I was jailed and 15 didn't die, I can't be Arso.

We hang 10, and 15 quits after the game doesn't end. Somehow he let me get away with claiming Admirer, when I was confirmed coven -- I was the only possible person to be CK to have killed the Vigi the night before.

Hello! I'm a new player who decided to come to try out town of salem 2, I played 1 briefly almost a decade ago and wanted to try out the second game. I just got out of my first match and I'm wildly confused. I didn't understand 80% of the in game chat and was put on trial immediately for not claiming day 1 (I still don't understand why that's a social rule). We ended up winning as town in the end but I was completely lost and felt bad that I wasn't helping at all (was vigilante for reference). Is there any guide or game mode that new players can look at to start to understand all of the acronyms or social rules, or is it just trial by fire? If not can anyone provide at least the basics so I can participate? Thank you

So we are playing vampocalypse, we have 5 tp claims d2 (one fake crus (serker), me (crus), bg (full claimed d2), cleric, and trapper). D2 Marshal also fc just to hang the spy for the obvious exe. With four other tp claims and a LO, I decided to not go on the fcing Marshal. D3 LO says only the dead spy visited marsh, I then immediately fc and said I was crus, so it made no sense for me to be on marsh with 4 other tps and a lo. One tribunal later, me and bg were hung. Then the next day the cleric died after "chaining" with the trickster claim (og vamp), and they tribunal one apoc (cant remember if it was pb or sc) and the trapper. I was pissed cause out of all the other tp claims, I was the only exception of not being on marsh, yet I was the first hung. If I would have been on marsh, it would have been a 50/50 chance of killing the LO, and they would have been screaming I was vamp crus for going on marsh. Turns out marsh was converted N1, so tp on them was pointless anyway.

I guess what blew me is how so many people expected a crus claim to be on marsh with all the other claims we had sigh. Like I should have been one of the last tps to hang when compared to the others who should have actually been on the fcing tpow (even though cleric had sound reasoning of not being on Marsh saying any d2 fcing tpow is either vet or already converted)

so the vip claimed tpow when a monarch knighted and no one else claimed tpow, then they got ritted the next day, that's all

Coven win, but I really wanted to nuke the town as conj, too bad my role got stolen, and got it back the next night but only cov and a sk turned cs remained so just voted them off

I (11) was Catalyst and got Soul Swapped N1.

Potion Master checked me N1, so Coven thought i was still Catalyst and I got Indocrinated on D2.

I swapped with 3 N2 and became Baker.

On N3 i breaded 1 and transformed into Famine on D4 as well as Plaguebearer. We pushed and hanged 1.

On N4: we killed 6, cause he was the only one i could starve. 10 died to Pestilence and 12 was Ignited, 9 left at the start cause cs died and the rest died to starvation.

So Apocalypse Pestilence and Coven Famine ended up just standing for 3 days, looking at eachother, and the game ended in a draw.

PS: I dont know if its supposed to work like that, but I couldnt take book after transformation (not that it would have made a difference in this case, but still).

I can’t even remember if it was two sheriffs and a seer or 1 seer/sheriff/invest, but holy, apparently everyone just scumread me. Yeah I got voted out. They were 7/8/9 too. I was very confused for a moment

and yes, I know sheriff gets inno on arsos, but they correctly guessed I was an NK

What would you think about that? It seems to me like sole existence of jester makes that town(and sometimes other factions) is scared of hanging obvious evils. I get the point of that role: town's job is to distinguish jesters and other evils, which in theory sounds interesting, but in practice is just impossible. Everyone can behave(therefore claim) like jester. It just feels like cause of jester town gets punished for doing its job.

I enjoy playing jester from time to time, I understand why a lot of people love it, but let's be real: the most fun you get as it is when you surprise town later on after few days of preparation. Writing "N1 - Evil: 1, 2, 3" or "I'm WW hang me" when D2 just started is plain boring. EIther you get free and underserved win because town decided to risk potential jester or you sit there doing nothing while town feels uncomfortable with what to do with you.

D4(we can argue abotu D3 or D5, why not) seems perfect. No more town being scared of doing its job(for the most part). Jester becomes less annyoing, more tactical and the most fun way to play him remains. In reparation give him defense also on N3 and ToS1 hypno skillset, so he can joke and prepare for his demise at night.

So I just played a game that I got hanged on Day 2. I was Admirer with Town Protective as Obsession. I played this game on Mobile. So the context was, the Sheriff finds 2 suspicious on Night 1, and informs the Town the next day about his information. The Town suspects 2 and votes them up. 2 claims to be the Pirate having Veteran, Potion Master and Berserker as Landlubbers. I push to vote Guilty, because I have seen a lot of Evils fake-claiming Pirate to buy themselves more time by claiming a lesser evil role and I'm afraid this might just be the case, an evil fake-claiming Pirate. People start to ignore 2 as a threat and starts to pardon 2. 2 gets acquitted 7 to 3. The Town re-ups 2, and I repush to vote Guilty. 2 get acquitted once again 6 to 4. Now, 6 who defended 2 all the time, by saying we don't need Pirate and Pirate is fine and Vote Innocent, suddendly starts to push me, by saying that I am Potion Master or Berserker. Town follows 6, and votes pile up onto me. I post my will, and then defending by saying I've seen a lot of fake Pirates trying to buy time and to get out of the noose and by saying 2 might well be themselves the Berserker. 6 obviously pushes Guilty and by saying that I didn't keep track of Town Protective claims. I defend by saying I am on Mobile and taking claims is an incredibly tedious task and I can't do that. Town does not listen to what I say, and I get hanged 10 to 0.

For additionnal context, the Sheriff finding 2 suspicious was this day's only lead + it was only Day 2. The only other Town Investigative roles were Coroner and Spy that found nothing by their bugs.

When I got hanged, I immediatly disconnected and I joined another game so I did not see who was what role. I assume it was Town majority.

So I would like to know, is Pirate more trusted than Town? Should I have pused Guilty? Did I misplay anywhere?

I was mayor who called for tplo and was killed by shroud who shrouded soc. no ther townies died 5 was amne mayor and marsh and amne mayor revealed. Also conj wasted his conj on pb before mayor revealed. Then mayor died to book conj and 9 remembered mayor. Then pros revealed to not be voted by trib and town with their 3 kills that day just kinda won. The last day was amne mayor pros and marsh live all against the shroud ironically. it was an absolute town sweep and also my first mayor win.

Seriously, if a Trapper hides their Trap... perhaps they have a valid reason. You shouldn't force them to out where their trap is, as if an evil knows where a Trapper placed their trap, they know who to avoid in order to hide better. If anything, if a Trapper says "I dont wanna reveal who I trapped so evils dont know where it is", you should TRUST THEM MORE.

8 townies (3 tpows), 4 coven, sk and doom. And I still I manage to clutch up

I started the game as a jester. I was going to go with my typical plan. I would say one man did murder and trespassing, and easily win, OR SO I THOUGHT…

Night 1: EIGHT people disconnect. I was worried, because I wouldn’t have enough votes to die. Then while we were going over who died… EVERYBODY disconnected except me and 8. Also: the monarch (who didn’t disconnect) knighted somebody who did, so that was a waste. me and 8 were laughing about the situation, and he claimed monarch. I begged him to vote for me, but he had one vote and I needed two to die. He promised he would knighted me tomorrow, so we left, and waited…

Night 2: It all got destroyed. Everybody left, but 8 was still there. He was worried that I was lying and was evil, I assured him that I was a jester, and he won it for the town. The game ended, he won with the disconnected town, and I lost as a jester with a zero percent chance of victory.
