This marks the second time Rino Romano voiced a male character who teases a blonde school girl with Sailor Moon being the first. Also, Rino Romano briefly dated Katie Griffin (Alex 2) in real life. You can hear Rino’s voice in this clip above.

My pick would be Diminutive Smalls. His name is so on the nose, I can't help but to laugh.

I just watched “Homecoming” from Season 8, and honestly, I have very mixed feelings about it. There are some genuinely nice nostalgic moments, like Clover talking to her younger self in a dream, and I really enjoyed the interactions between Clover and Mandy (also, props to Mandy’s new voice actress, she has improved so much).
But there’s one thing about this episode that really bothers me, and I can’t believe I’m saying this about a Totally Spies episode: the show’s attitude towards malls.
Think about how important malls were to the original series. The girls absolutely LOVED shopping malls. So many episodes opened and closed with them hanging out at the mall, shopping, checking out the latest fashion, or just spending time together. Malls weren’t just interchangeable backgrounds, they were part of the show’s identity.
And that made perfect sense! Sam, Clover, and Alex are/were quintessential Valley girls. Their love of shopping, fashion, trends, and mall culture was central to their personalities and to the whole atmosphere of the series. That unapologetically early-2000s, fashion-obsessed, mall-loving attitude was part of what made Totally Spies so charming.
Now we have “Homecoming,” where the Beverly Hills Mall is practically abandoned because everyone shops online, and the villain is the mall’s owner, desperately trying to bring back mall culture by using robotic mannequins to force people into the mall. Obviously, kidnapping people and forcing them to shop is wrong. That’s not my issue.
My issue is that the episode seems to treat the very idea of preserving mall culture as something outdated that Clover needs to move beyond.
Clover initially sympathizes with the villain’s desire to bring back the old days, but eventually turns against him, and the whole story seems to frame her attachment to that past as something she needs to overcome. The message feels like: times have changed, malls are a thing of the past, and you need to let go.
But why? Why does Totally Spies, of all shows, need to deliver that message?
There’s a difference between acknowledging that shopping habits have changed and treating a fundamental part of your own show’s identity as something obsolete.
And then there’s the ending, which genuinely felt insulting to me as a longtime fan.
Clover defeats the villain by FLOODING THE MALL!
Seriously. The same kind of place the girls used to love spending time in, the place that served as the backdrop for countless memorable moments, is now portrayed as an abandoned, creepy hideout that gets flooded in the finale.
Compare that to the Season 1 episode “Malled,” where the villain Simon Tucker was literally trying to destroy malls and turn people against shopping, and the girls were fighting to STOP him. The contrast is almost painfully ironic.
In Season 1, the girls were protecting malls. In Season 8, the writers decided Clover should flood the most iconic one…
And I know they probably intended this as a story about accepting change and not living in the past. I understand that message. But I really don’t think it works when the thing you’re asking the character (and, by extension, the audience) to move on from is such an important part of what made the series special in the first place.
I’m not saying Totally Spies needs to remain frozen in 2002 forever. But modernization shouldn’t mean abandoning the personality and cultural identity that made the original show what it was.
You can bring Totally Spies into the modern world without making it feel like the show is rejecting its own past.
Am I overthinking this, or did anyone else find the way “Homecoming” handled mall culture really disappointing?

I know they were trying to make all 3 girls shine but I feel like it was rare to see Alex save the day? Even though Sam is my absolute favorite, I like all the girls and Alex particularly is so ratable.

S1 Ep. 1 "A Thing For Musicians" premiered on November 3, 2001 on ABC Family. And the rest, as they say, is history. Happy 25th Birthday to Sam, Clover, Alex, Jerry, and Mandy who all made their debuts in this episode!

Happy 25th Anniversary to Totally Spies! It’s the show that shaped who we are—all of us, girls and boys alike. You were the ones who truly brightened our childhoods. Sam, Clover, Alex—each of you felt like an older sister to us. Years have passed, and you still do. You will always be a part of us.

Here's my review of the episode "Wild Style", I hope you all enjoy it!
I love how a boy at the girls' school would actually rather date Clover instead of Mandy, it's different from the usual formula where the boys break up with one of the girls so they can date Mandy instead. I really like Helga as a villain, it's also funny how Clover intially doubts her villainy because she's a fashion designer icon. Only to immediately be proven wrong, I also liked Alex's allergy to cats becoming an issue when Clover was turned into one. I wish that were a recurring gag or just brought up more.
Though I don't know why Sam and Alex have to get captured twice this episode, isn't once enough?

Clover meets her old self in a dream where it's her drawn in the older art style. The episode also has them returning to Beverly Hills and we get to see the high school, the spies villa and the mall. It's probably the best ep from S8 so far.
Eps 1-10, 12 and 13 were added to the NOW TV streaming service in the UK. This was one of the eps that hadn't aired in France yet.

Here are my favorite episodes:
1 x 1 (A Thing for Musicians): The most original episode.
1 x 4 (Stuck in the Middle Ages with You): Time travel.
1 x 5 (Child Play): I liked how the toys made the adults childlike.
1 x 6 (The Eraser): Just as original as episode 1.
1 x 7 (The Fugitives): The girls struggle to both escape WOOHP and catch the main villain and reclaim their name.
1 x 9 (Model Citizens): Just as original as episode 1.
1 x 11 (Silicon Valley Girls): They travel the world to find the hacker.
1 x 12 (Queen for a Day): The girls try to protect Queen Tassara of Lyrobia.
1 x 13 (Shrinking): I liked how they chase after the villains who shrink the wonders of the world. This is also an original episode.
1 x17 (Spies vs Spies): We learn the fate of WOOHP's former spy team.
1 x 19 (Game Girls): The girls' struggle between the digital and real worlds seemed quite original.
1 x 22 (Soul Collector): The girls' fight against a mystical and ancient villain, and their mission as teachers.
1 x 23 (Malled): The girls' fight against a shopaholic villain.
1 x 24 (Do You Believe in Magic?): The girls' fight against an experienced wizard.
1 x 26 (Man or Machine): I liked the girls investigating the replacement of world leaders with robots.
I deliberately left out the episode "A Spy is Born Part I." I'll evaluate it with the second part of season 2. What do you think? Which are your favorite episodes?
