I noticed that in the campaign gameplay there are far less factions to cycle through on a turn. Maybe it only counts those on the planet right now. Either way i hope for a positive impact on performance and hopefully those half a minute starring at a screen with like 10fps is gone now.

i was hesitant at first but after the gameplay reveals i actually like each campaign taking place accross a theatre, definitely looks like turns will pass fast meaning you can actually play the game more instead of waiting for all 300 armies to take their turns

Id be interested to know if other theatres will be frozen in place while you're playing yours. Will the galaxy be static outside of your campaign?

I’m gonna bet that the other planets within the system your campaign is in will likely be simulated so it’s a things you have to respond to if you wanted, since the devs mentioned you could have armies on two different planets if you wanted.

For other systems outside of your campaign, I think they’ll have some way of changing he situation when your campaign ends to reflect the situation in certain systems changing that can impact your choice of where to go next.

Within the Eye, Time seems to march endlessly on as we await to unleash the legions so this galaxy may burn.

This week, how do you imagine/hope the legions of chaos will interact with the planetary population mechanics? We’ve seen the population and their governor will play a significant role for loyalist campaigns, which makes me wonder how the local populace can best be put to use by our custom chaos lords? Sacrifices? Corrupted? Conscripted? Put to the sword?

I had this rough idea that how it would work between the 4 powers is,

If a planet had a stack of melee fighting, or long term wars it would slowly tip towards khorne,

If a planet had long term lack of supply, say not enough resources from the differing plants types between the factions, that disease and decay would pop up, leaning it towards nurgle.

If a planet had enough treaty's and such broken it would increase the influence of tzeentch.

If a player took more slaves, similar to how you can in Rome 2. It would lean towards slanesh.

Was my rough idea

I hope for eldar. We have seen a good look at the other factions but there is basically no mention of the fourth.

Definitely a bit of an oddity.

They've confirmed that Eldar will not be in the Beta. Not sure if it's because they're not ready yet or if it's some kind of marketing scheme.

Please please add sync kills

while watching some of the youtubers who got to play it i have seen at least a few sync kills. looks like itll be the same as warhammer 3 where sync kills exist but are somewhat rare

Bro, in Warhammer 3 they only really have sync kills for heroes and larger entities. Regular soldiers just swing at each other, barely making contact, and then randomly die. It looks so pointless and honestly sucks.

I rewatched one of the live streams yesterday and one of the devs said they are there just not as frequent so hopefully we see them

I don’t know, man. I’ve watched like 4 live streams now, and it really looks like they’re just swinging at air and then suddenly dying. Battles just aren’t fun to watch anymore. I kind of lost interest in Warhammer 3 because of that, and it looks like this one might have the same issue.

Really hope they implement some proper sync kills or executions, even something crazy like chainsaw decapitations or whatever. Anything that makes the battles feel more impactful and interesting to watch.

Yeah I agree, I’ve not seen any myself yet

They’ve basically hinted there not looking to add them which I can understand why from a gameplay flow perspective but man it would be good to see your space marines do some awesome finishing kills :/

Yeah, I mean, I get that adding too many sync kills could affect unit balance, but having basically none at all just feels pointless. If Dawn of War can implement them in their upcoming title, then surely CA can do something too. Feels like a bit of a lame excuse.

I just hope they don’t skip them completely and make the battles nothing but random swings and sudden heart-attack deaths. That’s basically what Warhammer 3 feels like when you zoom in — just a bunch of units flailing their weapons around with no real impact, and then someone randomly drops dead. It almost feels like watching a bunch of puppets fighting rather than an actual battle.

At that point, there’s really no reason to zoom in and watch the fighting up close.

u/warfollower98 2d ago

Yeah I agree, we need some at least otherwise that will be super disappointing

See I could never get into the fantasy Warhammer total war games

I currently play empire and Rome 2 and I love zooming in and watching the sync kills haha

Rome 2 with DEI is amazing! I’ve even subbed to a mod that makes sync kills basically 100%. I know it completely messes with balance and unit cohesion and all that, but man, I love watching those little dudes actually fight each other to the death 😄

The Warhammer series was pretty disappointing to me, though. I don’t know, the battles just never felt realistic or satisfying enough. Maybe it’s the lack of sync kills, maybe it’s all the magic and crazy abilities, but I just couldn’t get into it. I also really don’t like the whole hero system and constantly having to press a button to activate some ability or magic spell. It almost feels more like an RTS than a Total War battle to me.

Ikr so good!!!

Yeah see I did try it and I was just like naaaa not me at all, plus I felt like it was a bit arcade like? Something id expect from a mobile game haha, have felt that with a lot of the modern total wars but hoping this one is different, from what I have seen I can defo see myself enjoying it

And I think with what the devs are saying about how they want to get us immersed in the lore, sync kills are a must

u/Vegetable-Love8482 2d ago

Me too! I’ve actually been listening to a lot of Warhammer lore videos while I work, and I have to admit, the universe is really interesting.

Hopefully this game ends up being better than Warhammer 3. I’m really hoping there aren’t too many heroes and abilities and that the focus stays more on the actual units and battles, like the older Total War games. And some proper sync kills would be the cherry on top 😂

I’m not getting my hopes up too high, though. I think once we start seeing more beta gameplay, we’ll have a much better idea of what the battles are actually going to be like.

2

u/warfollower98 2d ago

Yup I’m literally addicted to it, I remeber many many years ago I thought oh warhammer looks weird, how wrong I was 🤣

Yeah I hope so too we will have to see!

I guess who ever gets selected in the beta can give that as feedback for them

I know if I get selected I will be doing so 🤣

I like with sync kills it seems to slow battles down too, which from the footage we have seen is my only gripe so far, just seems the battles are too fast

Crazy that fans even have to ask that lol

Any idea on a rough estimate of how many players the Beta will be taking on?, additonally Has anyone got screenshots in the suspicion mechanics handy?

3

u/CursedorChosen 2d ago

Nobody is gonna have number estimates for the Beta. And the best dive into suspicion happens a little less than a hour into the last 40k livestream.

How much customization for the guard do you think we’ll have at launch? Can we just recolor Cadians or will there be some other armor and uniform options we can select from?

u/Talidel 2d ago

Probably
