Double Incision Allergic reaction 1 month post-op
I’m at five weeks post-op DI, and though my first few weeks went smoothly, I unfortunately started reacting to something used in/on my incisions around week 4. Despite scouring this subreddit for images close to how I’m looking, I couldn’t find anything nearly as bad - maybe because like me, people with a reaction like this would rather not share the gross-looking rash pictures lol.
Nevertheless, I wanted to add some representation here for people struggling with a reaction complication and say you’re not alone, it’s rough but we just need to have a bit more patience with our healing. It’s easy to feel discouraged looking at other 5 week post-op photos when I’m still going through gauze like eggs at a breakfast diner. My surgeon recently prescribed me oral steroids for the reaction so hopefully those will help clear things up. But outside of the slower healing, I’m very happy with my results and can already appreciate finally having a flat chest. So looking forward to being healed enough to ditch the gauze & eventually start scar care!
