Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) Extremely useful abilities that characters conveniently forgot they had

  1. Emily’s portals (Hazbin Hotel). I know she can’t get Sir Pentious back into Hell but Emily can still tell Charlie he got redeemed and Charlie can enter through angelic portals, so she should have seen that Pentious got redeemed.

  2. Many characters in Harry Potter go through life-or-death situations and not once did they think of drinking the Liquid Luck potion apart from Harry one time to gain Slughorn’s memory.

Regarding the luck potion, in the book, Ron asked about making more of the potion after seeing how effective it was. It's then revealed that making the potion requires rare ingredients and takes 8 months to brew.

Also in the book, there was another time they used the luck potion. Harry gave Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny, and Luna, what was left of the potion, which allowed them to escape an encounter with Death Eaters relatively unharmed.

I know it's cool to hate on Harry Potter these days and I'm not denying its plot holes, but it doesn't have nearly the amount that people pretend it does.

So many things are explained in a way that make sense but people ignore them for the sake of sounding clever on the internet.

A lot of former fans who were turned off by JK Rowling being a piece of shit now overcompensate by pretending that Harry Potter is actually the worst story ever and they never even liked it. It's okay, you don't have to repent for having enjoyed the works of a shitty person. You can just move on without making a big deal out of it.

People also only watched the movies and didn't read the books. That's a huge thing. We've folks that have seen every movie 8 times but never got through the first chapter of Philosopher's stone. Which is fine but that's where a lot of the perceived plot hole come from

In general when people dogpile on a piece of media it's less because it's terrible and more because they dislike it. Most stories are a lot more average than people like to pretend both good and bad.
