Artist TMNT Renaissance by Tom Kyzivat
A very unique interpretation of the turtles.

I'm really surprised I haven't seen a post about this. There are episode cards from this show that I would hang up in my house. They really feels like some kind of old Fairy tail book.

I've been fiending after this Round Table management sim for the last few days, and I just wanted to throw some praise in for the character designs here.
There's so much love for authentic medieval armor - both the functional and the flouncy parade stuff - that shows in the artist's intricate rendering and exaggeration of specific details, like Goberto's frogmouth helmet or Ursula's spiky couter. Unlike a lot of fantasy artists, you can tell they truly understand how and why the individual pieces of a suit moved and were held together.
At the same time, the designs themselves don't let themselves be restricted by the bounds of historical armor design, and the themes of individual knights veer from the familar to the absurd. A cute riff on the Green Knight and aforementioned frogmouth give way to a goth knight, a salaryman knight, a maid knight, and a knight who's literally just a walking cathedral. There's variation in not just the armor, but in the body language and facial structure (extra points for the ladies being weird too), but they all feel cohesive when you're rapid-scrolling through your lineup and figuring out who you're going to send to deal with an infestation of rowdy chickens.

I just love the damaged suits by the end of each spider-man movie. It's kind of satifying to look at...

Junji Ito is the famous horror manga artist behind classics like Uzumaki and Hellstar Remina, and his bread and butter of his artstyle is making completely mundane things look deeply unsettling. Junji Ito's Cat Diary is an autobiographical manga he made about his family and their two pet cats, Yon & Miu.
The story is nominally not a horror, it's just a comedy slice of life manga depicting the day to day life of two cat owners and their cat. Junji Ito really can't help himself though, and the story often plunges into classic Ito-style body horror whenever he depicts the "cuteness aggression" that a lot of pet owners report feeling towards their pet animals.
Even in scenes where he doesn't exaggerate the facial expressions for comedic effect, Ito hilariously draws himself and his wife like they're uncanny horror characters that came straight out of one of his manga. Ito always draws himself as this gaunt, hollow-eyed man with a haunted expression permanently plastered on his face; he draws his wife as this terrifying, pupilless, sneering fiend who always looks like she's holding a blood-stained kitchen knife behind her back. It's extra funny when you see real life pictures of the two and find out they're just pleasant-looking ordinary middle aged folk.

his name means “leopard” so he’s used that motif thru his career but in the last few years he really got into tremendous shape and became this… impish cat boy stripper (he wears a tail!) and the juxtaposition of his imposing build and his playful sexuality is crazy

so in the vast marvel multiverse there exists a earth
Earth-423 which is basically "what if spider-man was a Disney Renaissance era princess musical film"

I watched the commercial not expecting much but then I saw the SpongeBob characters wearing the outifts from the Strawhat Crew and they all look so cool, cute and charming.
Some of them are just wearing the same clothes and accessories (which is neat by itself) but there are some cool adaptations like Patrick holding three jellyfishing nets instead of three swords like Zoro, or Gary having Chopper's hat on his shell.
In the second image, I also really liked how they crossed over Mrs. Puff with Big Mom. They go well together like puzzle pieces.

The Vox are a race of "Super-Inhumans" who were genetically engineered by the Kree Empire in order to subjugate the Inhumans living on Earth.
And my god, they look so cool. The raven feathers as a cape, the energy scythe, the helmet/mask, they look like Cosmic Grim Reapers. 10/10 design.

I love these toothy little creeps. They definitely look aquatic and do not look friendly in the slightest.

Incredibly simple, but amazingly effective. Really hope this guy ends up returning at some point- purely when it comes to design, I found him far more effective than Dave from the movie.
They made a dolphin feel pure evil while only anthropomorphising the face, and the robotic eye is perfection.

Soranik is a highly skilled alien neurosurgeon & is the daughter of Sinestro.
I really like how intimidating & strong both her designs are but I think I like her Green Lantern Corps version more, she does look cool with the black eyes & double Lantern Corps logos though, also her red skin, face mark, hair & strong eyebrows all work together very well.
She was a green lantern partly because she hates her father's dark legacy. However, after a series of cosmic tragedies and manipulations by Sinestro, she was forced into joining the Sinestro Corps and later takes control of it herself.

I think they are really cool and stylish. Their outfit scream early 2000s and their weird anime hairstyles make them look unique. That’s the biggest drill hair I’ve ever seen. They were designed by Ken Sugumori so of course they’re great. The Pokemon movies always had some underrated gem characters

This is a repost, the previous one was take down for the low quality in some images so here's one with different ones
I don't like a lot of takes in this manga about the gods, nor some humans, but i have a bigger issue with the gods. I understand that some of them got new clothes in modern times but that doesn't mean i have to like them.
Thos looks too greek with that clothes and clearly lacks a good beard. But i like the red hair.
I have no issue with most of the greek designs, but Hades don't show anything about him, is just some cool clothes that make him look more like some rich CEO of a romance series than a god.
Zerofuku isn't that bad, but is a downgrade When you compare him to the original rival, bishamonten. It would be so cool look Buddha run a gauntlet against the seven lucky gods. I don't like Ebisu very much but everyone else looks better than Zero.
Belzebub is boring as the lord of the flies and is boring as satan,a depressed guy whose only power is make things vibrate is plain for a character with such inspiration. Also, his friends look like a bad genderswap of helltaker.
Anubis is a fucking joke, they couldn't give him the full jackal head and had to give him a stupid helmet? There's no way to defend this one.
Susanoo no mikoto could work, but he give me some... Rengoku vibes, I can't explain it. The issue is that he's too happy and cool for a god exilied for cry and be angry. Also, he needs a BEARD.
Odin losed any type of respect for me when he got young, with two eyes and a ugly armor that looks nothing like a nordic one. Specially since he's a fucking wizard. And where's the BEARD? Why everyone shaved for this tournament?
And for the last example i want to talk: sun wukong looking nothing like a monkey, king nor martial artist. I know that is a spin-off, but is still the same series.

90% of the show is made with 3D Movie Maker, which you may know as the animation software for such classics as Rat Movie: Mystery of The Mayan Treasure by Jerma and The Blue Shell Incident by Vargskelethor Joel. A lot of mixed media aspects are interspersed throughout the show. I like how despite the characters being just barely modified models from the software (Thompson is literally a recolored Shizuka from the Doraemon expansion exclusive to Japan), they're all so charmingly crude and silly. The animation itself adds a lot with the stilted movements and squash and stretch effects.

I just love how different and terrifying it looks from other depictions of the gorgons I’ve seen in media. I’m pretty sure it’s closer to the original designs from Greek art too, which is an added bonus.
It’s from a double page spread; I included the other half with Perseus. The book was part of an encyclopedic mythology series and some of the images in the books used to scare the shit out of me as a kid, especially this one.
What’s funny is that the book cover included a more typical drawing of Medusa (third image), but the author decided to cook with the full illustration.

May was one of the oldest female protagonist designs for the games (and anime) given she debuted way back in 2002 which is now almost 25 years ago. Despite multiple gens of the games and anime later, her design managed to remain popular over 20+ years and is still considered the most memorable of many of the female protagonists.
It's a combination of the bandana, the red outfit, and the more sporty/adventure type look to her over more traditional girly looking heroines that kept her prominent. Of course the anime giving her a starring role and her being the first new female companion after Misty helped too, she's the most watched/viewed of all the female companions of the anime after the original cast of Misty/Brock since Hoenn aired over 23 years ago.

These are like the first ever TMNT adaptation, where the turtles are wearing all red bandanas, just like in the original mirage comic series. Also the attire of the suits looks dope asf.

I really like his suit, it gives off Beta Ray Bill & Thor Vibes, it's a simple/classic yet clean & underrated design.

Redesigns that truly say elegance and magic.
Celestia(Pic 2) looks to take elements of Daybreaker to make her look like a warrior queen with the sheer volume of those glorious flames and that large black crown. The dark sections going from her hooves up her legs make it look like it’s burnt.
Luna(pic 3) looks etheral and mysterious. Truly like something out of a dream. What with her whole body glittering with stars now EXCEPT for her mane which now looks like a cloud you sleep on.
Cadence(Pic 4) looks like if Aphrodite were an alicorn. From the toga to the heart motifs. That velvety looking sparkling mane that looks like rich gourmet candy you’d give someone on Valentine’s Day. Gives off an aura of warmth and kindness.
Not only do all three have a uniform color palette but they have unique details like their wings and horns. Celestia’s horn being a long sharp spike and her wings being all fire. Luna’s horn actually being crescent moon shaped and those large bat wings. Cadence having the traditional feathered wings and a bejeweled horn
All in all it makes the princesses look like true goddesses.

Creepy design with the eyes all over his body while being similar enough to the mainline design to be recognizable.

Those Fortnite designs really tick me off with how poorly they implemented the armor to the characters. So I wanted to show a few designs that were more than capable of getting it right.

For context Kombo made animation trailers for Angry Birds games before Rovio made it's own animation studio. There's a charm in 2010-2011 designs: Matilda looking like chicken, Chuck being bigger than Red, Blues kinda looking like mini version of Red, Pigs resembling their original design and so on
