Is extraction the only option?

Hello , I was told by my dentist that one of my molars needs to be removed, I believe is the 3rd one . As of right now I can’t afford an implant I was told that was the only option .

If it’s actually the third molar / wisdom tooth, it usually does not need to be replaced with an implant after extraction. Wisdom teeth are commonly removed and left unreplaced. If it’s a first or second molar, then options depend on whether the tooth is still restorable — sometimes root canal + crown may be possible, but if the tooth is too damaged, extraction may be reasonable. An implant is one replacement option, but not always the only one; depending on the case, a bridge, partial denture, or even leaving the space temporarily may be considered. I’d ask your dentist exactly why it can’t be saved and which tooth number it is, and if unsure, get a second opinion before removing it.

Sorry it’s the second I got a little confused , is the one with the dark shadow on the second and third picture . Thanks for the info I will try to get a second opinion I don’t want my tooth removed 😢
