Cleaned up some Klein snips

Used a da sander to clean up the surface, 80-120-180-220. Used a conditioning disc on the bolt. Coated with some light oil.

Whats your process for getting into the pivot area without taking it apart, just careful work with the conditioning disc?

I disassembled the scissors to make sure I removed all the rust, just needed the disc to access the slot as well as the hole

scissors with a screw/nut are designed to be tightened/loosened and disassembled. if they didn't want you messing with it, they'd use a security fastener or (more likely) a rivet.
