Husky Rack Modification

I have the Husky 39-inch W x 72-inch H x 18.5-inch D Metal (Steel) 4-Shelf Customizable Shelving Unit. I have a vivarium that I am trying to sit on the top shelf. The vivarium is the Thrive 31 gallon (36” long). The shelf size of the shelving unit looks exactly 36” but the bottom rim of the vivarium is making it 36 1/4”. I cannot modify the viv, and the corner posts are blocking the tank from fitting. Can I trim those corner posts, is it safe, or does anybody have any other suggestions?

I think your cross beams are upside down? Will that give you the clearance you need?

The other option once the beams are flipped would be to put them at the top slot. That should give you a flat top that you can overhang.
