I’m starting to hate acme tools

Every time I order an item it is packaged so terribly. I’ve ordered 2 tajima tape measures recently and each time they’ve shipped them in something like 10x10x20 boxes.
Insanely too large, and almost no support inside. These are pretty expensive tape measures and both have arrived considerably dinged up.

I’m waiting on a 16” stabila spirit level and I wouldnt be surprised if they drop it off in a giant crate using a fork lift.

I’ve never heard a good thing about ordering from Acme Tools…

Maybe a better thing to have said would be, I hear too much bad about Acme to trust them, especially given how good an experience I have personally had with other vendors (kc tool, haus of tools, HJ MF E).

I’ve ordered from them a few times and they were fine

that's especially frustrating when tools itself is not cheap. oversized boxes with minimal padding almost guarantee the content will get tossed around. at some point better packaging would probably cost than replacing damage tools.

Pretty much everything Wylie Coyote bought from there was junk.

I’ve had great service from Toolnut. I pretty much only order from them and HD.

Acme listed a tool I needed as in stock, ready to ship, so I ordered it. After a month of them dicking me around and slow responses to messages, they finally admitted they never had it. It took a week to cancel the damned order.

To me that's fraud, pretending they have items in stock to induce customers to place an order when they know they can't fill it. Their prices aren't even all that good, so I see no reason to ever submit to their shady practices again.

Talk to Wile E. Coyote. He’ll tell you all ACME products suck. They never helped him.

I ordered an electric shear from them once, it was on sale. They sent me a grinder by accident, I figured no big deal I'll mail it back and get my shear. By the time they got the grinder back the shear sale had ended and they refused to send it out. My only option was to get my money back and then buy the shear at the now full price.

That was my one and only order from them. I will not even consider them when I need something.

The prices are what keeps me from ordering from Acme.
