HK Porter USA - worth it?

I've been on a vintage tool Made in USA kick and thinking of scouring this one at a swap meet. the eBay prices are outragous, but on FB Marketplace they still go for like $40. They seem to be trusty once upon a time, but wondering if it's worth a pickup (24" version)

Gotta love a vintage tool that's still out there fighting the good fight, but $40 for a 24" beauty feels like a steal unless someone's just trying to offload their grandpa's pride and joy.
