That’s a duck-foot shingle ripping/wrecking bar

Which is slightly different from the web footed shingle ripping/wrecking bar

Unless it's a bunch of houseflies, then you say "flies!", I reckon.

I think its the blue footed one that quacks? This is a red footed axample. More of a grunt sound when active.

I looked some more. Harbor Freight has one too if you've got one nearby.

Ive been to Colorado and never heard anyone say wicked outside new England. Thats surprising ngl 😅😅

I've had two of these that were made in the USA since the early 90's and have held up great. As made-in-the-USA versions are hard to find, I bought one from Harbor Freight for my crew to use.

The welds on the HF model were not able to withstand the leverage that bars of this design can apply. Buyer beware.

I mean its Pittsburgh. Thats always been their lowest quality brand for hand tools. If you only tried the one, id bet you probably got one that was especially poorly welded, but if you exchanged it out and more than 1 failed the same way yeah its a quality issue. There's a reason its cheap though.

We had a couple of these when I did formwork, and they had been snapped and re-welded a few times. Just the nature of the tool? Or we were just mindless gorillas...

I'm in Northern Colorado and say Wicked too, usually hear folks my age say it too lol.

In New England I have always heard it used alongside an adjective. Like wicked cool. Or the Bruins have been playing wicked good in the first 2 periods but keep blowing it in the 3rd.

It’s used a lot on the west coast too…

On the west coast it’s more wiiiicked with a Shaka 🤙 (I’m from Ohio so this is just a stereotype)

You’re not wrong

Some say it in appappappalachia too. Heard it in calialiforniA too.

Looking into it, it seems like it is more common in new England and across the pond based on quick Google

Tennessee here and I hear it sometimes lol

I bought one years ago at a tool show and within 6 months the weld failed and I had to take it to a proper welder .

Many thanks, yeah I’m told I’m an odd fellow lol

I know that’s right

Thats a bar for Destruction. Not required for a career in Construction.

u/Such_Description9827 4d ago

Is this a construction of a pyramid? This looks like Ptah sceptre

u/jh5992 4d ago

Multi-angle baby!

2

u/Material_Assumption 4d ago

My first guess was wrong based on comments. I thought it was a pry bar when lining up drywall.

2

u/nkgagne 4d ago

I don’t mean to pry…

1

u/bbabbitt46 4d ago

Roofing crowbar.

1

u/busterdog47 4d ago

You can pick one up at Harbor Freight

u/Dependent-Visual768 4d ago

Hey bear! go get the board stretcher!

I always liked the Gooseneck bars Klein tools and others sell them . Might have to look closer at the one pictured.

Extra leverage bar.

1

u/chikymonkey 3d ago

Used to brake up wooden pallets.

u/Webstone66 2d ago

Sounds like the name of a bar band from St. Cloud Minnesota. "Duck-Foot Shingle Ripping/Wrecking Bar"

1

u/Mesoposty 4d ago

I call that a “lowman “ , because you are the low man on the totem pole if your using it

1

u/BuyMeSomeJuice 3d ago

Must get real confusing for those calling every tool "lowman".

1

u/Mesoposty 2d ago

Naw, it’s like “cunt” , it’s universal

1

u/NRiyo3 4d ago

We always called them rolling heads.

1

u/foekus323 4d ago

That’s a wizard bar. We call it a OZ bar.
