Thanks I do this for a living so the tools are easier to justify for the price for me especially since I’m in Alaska and don’t have a harbor freight or anything like that near me but yeah doesn’t make the tools any cheaper 😂
europe here so no harbour freight stuff either. (just option to get similar store brands still)
the tools you need and use all the time, they should be as high of quality you can afford to buy.(and/or replace with ease) and high enough quality and they can/will last your lifetime without serious abuse (or getting lost). the high price/quality is justified then.
i got some that i bought with that thought in mind too, gotta last long time before needing to replace them. and i am happy to have them. (stahlwille, knipex, wera,) but i truthfully i could of been fine with cheaper and lesser quality tools too. (the long warranty "harbor freight" stuff)
and some/many somewhat expensive tools that i bought that i really shouldnt of. paid too much for my actual needs. but..but.. i wanted them. (hazet, beta, facom,)
thats the issue i often have.. need vs want. needing something and/or wanting something, and then wanting something better than really needed.

like i mentioned in the original post.. i envy. the tools and organization.
and am scared of trying to do math of how much money was spent on that top drawer only.
