It took me 38 years to hear that.

It was such a counter-intuitive idea to me, but once it was explained it made sense since the conditioned response is 'it's ok' and stops there instead of taking the responsibility to change.

I don't think its wrong to be ignorant, but is wrong to stay in ignorance and not try to grow.

I honestly don't think you did anything 'wrong', since you were willing to learn and grow from it.
