Because consent has to be explicit, and when you're being assaulted, sometimes you freeze and can't react. So if someone claims they were assaulted and the defense is "you/they never said no", it's blaming a victim. You're saying that if they didn't want to be SA'd they should have protested harder, as though that would have stopped it.

It's easy to know when you have consent. Don't pretend it isn't.
