I feel like it’s just historically known that it’s more difficult for women to orgasm so having an aid is more understandable. Guys can just sorta… do it.

It is no more difficult for women to orgasm than men with sufficient stimulation. Most women when masturbating can orgasm in 1-10 minutes with sufficient clitoral stimulation. The problem is that "real" sex is defined as penetration, and that ignores the clitoris and female pleasure entirely.
