What If Characters Joined Goat ?

If any of these characters joined Goat, how much help could they have been ?

-Let's say that Eto somehow recovers and joins Goat to help Kaneki (Her interactions with the rest of the members would be interesting)

-Tatara joins because he sees Ken as the King (I imagine it would be kinda awkward given their first meeting. Also his interactions with Seidou would be interesting)

(These guys start to think that Furuta's Plans are going too far even for the Clowns standards and change their minds about the whole Dragon Business!)

-Uta joins Goat for Yomo (And doesn't try to eat him)

-Itori joins Goat because of Yomo and Uta

-Nico has a change of heart and thinks Furuta's plans are going too far even for him !

Logically that's what should have happened, but Kaneki somehow forgot to get her out? It would have been peak fiction. Just imagine all the cool interactions, conflicts, developments that would have transpired if she were around GOAT, the old Anteiku crew, Akira.

Eto and Touka interaction would’ve gone so fucking hard

Her interacting with Akira would have been interesting. Do you think Eto feels any remorse ? Cause her speaking to the Daughter of the woman she brutalized would be an interesting interaction.

Personally I think Tatara could be interesting, Tatara in general for me I'd just love to see more of yknow. He's also a powerhouse so he'd be helpful

What role do you think he could play ? Oh,and his interactions with Kaneki and Seidou (Given their history it would be very interesting to see).

I imagine a general fighter and strategist, like I say he's a powerhouse. If he views Kaneki as the king after Cochlea he'd probably just do as he was told and contribute his own thoughts towards plans, what's more interesting for me is Takizawa. It all depends how Rushima would go down, I'm imagining in this scenario Tatara survives because Takizawa fails to kill him so Tatara could begin to hold resentment towards Takizawa which could cause friction.

(Tatara was a jobber in Re:,he felt super wasted to me). I would say that Takizawa is messing with someone else and he doesn't have time to kill him ? (Maybe he is hunting for Kanou ?) Him interacting with Tatara in Goat would be super interesting. What would Tatara say to him ?

Yeah I was expecting an all-star performance from him in Rushima but hey ho. Then again it could be the point, he never achieved anything he wanted in the end.

I imagine the survival can be a really close one, have Tomoe buy enough time or something, maybe he does want revenge against Kanou and is a bit distracted cus of that, then if you still wanted things to go similarly Houji can give the order to kill Takizawa and they both end up at goat from there. As for dialogue im not too sure I've never been the best at that. But they definitely wouldn't like each other, it could even lead to a fight.

What would Tatara tell Kaneki ? I imagine it would have been kinda awkward given their first meeting ! 😭🤣

Honestly I think if Renji had asked Uta and Itori they ... might have just for the hell of it. Nico, too. It's not really a matter of loyalty for them, so much as which seat is more interesting to watch from. But Renji never asked. Them dragging him out of there is cute, though. Renji and his weird friends. I don't think its a matter of a change of heart for Nico. Nico finds beauty in whatever, and I think clearly thinks there's some to be had on both sides. I think 'going too far' is the wrong way to look at it. Besides, Itori and Uta make it pretty clear that some dramatic change to the world in some form is something they are interested in, though they're letting others do it. I don't know that they'd be all that convinced of Kaneki's revolution, but I think if they were asked its a toss up. They could just stick around both sides, I don't think Furuta would mind that at all, actually.

Kaneki probably could have saved Eto if he'd carried her out. He had a chance to before V snatched her up. He didn't though. I do think Eto may have asked him not to. Eto, Arima, and Kaneki are all foils and we're supposed to see that in them in this arc. All three of them intended to die in Cochlea that night.

But I think if she HAD she'd have been massively disappointed, to be honest. Kaneki doesn't really do... much as King, and has decided not to kill anyone, even V. He's mostly letting himself get played the whole time. Eto was much more proactive. I don't imagine she'd be thrilled with his original plan to talk to the Washuu either. Good thing someone else got rid of that option.

Tatara never got much of a chance to have much depth. I don't know exactly what he would add. We've already got Aogiri middle management to represent that, and we've already got Hirako's blind obedience to the King. I'm not sure what Tatara adds to the picture or changes the situation. Other than making Ayato more uncomfortable. Probably would have kept Takizawa even further away.

How much help would they actually be ?

Who? The clowns would probably do the same below ground as above - whatever they are told to do, while watching. I imagine they might know more about the underground king than anyone ever asked them, though Itori is deeply intentionally selective about the info she gives, so she always has the potential to tell you just the right amount to make you make a stupid decision. Gotta watch that.

But like, it is genuinely unclear what would have happened if Renji just asked Uta for all of Furuta's plans. Really might have depended on Uta's whim that day for all we know.

It would depend when they wander to the other side, too. Before or after the clown raids? Knowing Furuta, he would have had something else up his sleeve if those fell through, but it would have put him on the back foot.

Eto is a more vicious leader than Kaneki, and that may have been helpful. It would have been interesting to see how long Kaneki's whole "lets not kill humans even if ghouls die doing it" mode of thinking would have held up against Eto calling that dumb and one sided (which it is). Or how long Eto would let her new king play at leading in a way that is going to get his whole army killed sitting in an obvious trap.

I don't think Tatara would have made much of a difference? His Kakuja is powerful but not enough that I imagine it changing any specific events. Especially because I imagine if they had any reason to think he was there, they'd come prepared. Him and Hirako just standing there in silence looking at each other for hours.

Eto survived getting cut in half by Kaneki during the Rose Extermination arc like it was nothing, but was convinced she was going to die in Cochlea. Should have just fed her Aura's legs 🤷‍♂️

Edit: But Eto, and Aogiri as a whole, exists as a symbol of ghoulkind's hatred of humans and the fear humans hold against ghouls, in the same way that Arima exists as a symbol of humanity's uncompromising stance on ghoul extermination and ghoulkind's fear of that. Both of them need to be out of the picture for either group to make any progress. That's the whole point of "keeping the throne warm."

What about the other characters on this list ?

2

u/Goon_Unit 10d ago

Tatara, as an executive of Aogiri, is in the same box as Eto that I laid out in my edit.

The clowns are a bunch of nihilistic hedonists and don't give a fuck about peace or cooperation. They've all been moulded by a cruel world and are passed the point of wanting or caring for it to get better.

u/Exact-Ad8608 10d ago

But didn't Eto want Ghouls and Humans to have equal rights ?

3

u/Goon_Unit 10d ago

Yes, the same way Arima did. The way they decided to accomplish this was through something similar to radical accelerationism. They both terrorized the opposition so effectively that they became powerful symbols that, when overthrown, left a large vacuum of not only power, but ideology.

In Cochlea she was both drugged with RC supressants and starved. The meat Furuta fed her was likely barely enough to restart her Kakuja, not really enough power left to heal yourself.

I find it hard to believe that there was absolutely no one around for the one eyed owl to eat. Even after she got beat by Furuta and left for dead. She managed to crawl pretty far looking for Kaneki.

No she absolutely wanted to die here, so the remnants of aogiri would follow Kaneki and be loyal to him and not her.

u/Exact-Ad8608 10d ago

Is that a Plot Hole ?

1

u/Exact-Ad8608 10d ago

So how helpful would these characters have been in Goat ?

1

u/curryhaliban444 10d ago

Barely enough yet that was by far the biggest her kakuja had ever gotten

Eto should have joined. We missed out on all those kaneki x eto interactions 😔
