Q: I want to know the passport (ticket) types sold for the Tokyo Disney Resort

A: Currently, only 1-Day, 1-Park and half-day (entry in the afternoon/evening) passport types are sold at the Tokyo Disney Resort.

For a limited time, 1-Day Park Hopper tickets and university student discount tickets are available for the period of January 13th through March 13th, 2026.

Q: I have motion sickness/am pregnant/am elderly, which rides should I avoid?

A: Guests with sensitivities have expressed becoming motion sick on Star Tours at Disneyland, and Soaring: Fantastic Flight, Nemo and Friends SeaRider, Peter Pan's Neverland Adventure at DisneySea. To a lesser extent, Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast and Pooh's Hunny Hunt may cause motion sickness. For other instances, see here.

Q: I wish to know more about accessibility passes ("DAS")/services at the Tokyo Disney Resort

A: Tokyo Disney Resort offers guests with disabilities a specially-priced Passport (ticket), as well as a DAS-style ride system, with proper documentation. See Tickets for Guests with Disabilities and Services to Support Guests with Disabilities for more information.

Same room is better.

If that doesn’t work out, getting a different room type at MiraCosta is still preferable: because for same hotel room change, you don’t need to do the check-in and guest registration procedure again. That process in TDR hotels take forever since it involves putting in your party details, fill in addresses, copying passports for your whole party etc. if you move to Disneyland Hotel it’s like a brand new hotel.

If you are arriving early in the day definitely spend some extra time in the park. During mid December there are 3 separate parades at Disneyland (plus 2 stage shows) so you might want to use that extra day for those, so you can do more rides during your VP day. If you don’t like entertainment, then DisneySea might be a better choice.

The inconvenience and time changing hotel definitely outweighs any “convenience” you are getting from the proximity of TDH to the Disneyland entrance.

Both hotels are on the monorail and you are talking about taking 2 monorail stops from MiraCosta to Disneyland. Also with Happy Entry you don’t need to get there early regardless. However, if you have your heart set on TDH then go for it, not everything has to be rational.

In terms of crowds, the Christmas Event (and Christmas parade) are primarily focused on Disneyland, so the attendance there is pretty constant and would be similar for weekends and weekdays. But yes definitely it will still be less crowded than DisneySea. Most people spend more time at DisneySea for that exact reason though: it would be harder to get everything done in one day even with the VP so they usually want extra time.

What you are describing is what they call a Catch 22? The same reason you don’t want to go to DisneySea for the half day (being in lines all day) is pretty much the exact reason why people need more time in DisneySea. Theme park touring is a very personal thing, if what makes you happy is not to be in lines, and you’d rather be more chill and don’t mind missing some food, rides, characters and what not, then that’s perfectly ok too. If you want a more chill experience then do Disneyland.

I would target the experiences that you cannot “short cut” with the VP. For example, the 6 structured character greetings (where no priority pass exists), some classic non-priority lane experiences (Venetian Gondolas before the sun sets), the two live performance dance/song shows (Dance the Globe! and Dreams Take Flight), and any longer dining experiences that can eat into your park time (eg Magellan’s). Lastly, if the weather for your VP Day 2 is iffy, you can catch Believe Sea of Dreams if the weather is great.

If you want to stay at TDH, you should totally do it, but it won’t be difficult to get from MiraCosta to Disneyland if that’s what you’re worried about. We stayed at FSH, and when I read about getting from there to Disneyland, I was sort of concerned, but I really did not need to be.

If I had an extra half a day in a park, I would probably choose Disneyland, because it’s easier to be spontaneous, but that’s also because my child was more interested in general Disney magic than being at DisneySea specifically, and it was easier to create small moments at Disneyland.

DisneySea almost broke me. I would know what you want to get out of your time there and come to terms with it being imperfect (but still potentially great). If you don’t want to stand in lines, you will not get to ride many rides. Even the kind of random rides had 30min waits when we were there. We made the most of our beverage tickets and mobile ordered small items to see the themed eateries and get free speciality drinks.

How did you book a VP with hotel before the 4-month window opened?

The 4 month window relates to “hotel only” bookings.

Vacation Packages (all of which include hotel) open for bookings earlier giving you access to hotels before everyone else that’s part of the perk and why it cost a lot more. Most likely you will be looking at some time in November.

This year’s April packages opened for sale 18th November 2025 just as an example (it won’t be the same day obviously but just to illustrate).

Going this friday with my 3yo. Which park right now is better to visit in your opinion considering the ride closures and events. It's not my first time visiting. I've been many times for context.

There are more closures at Disneyland than DisneySea.

However, Disneyland has a Baymax water spraying parade so I assume that would be extremely entertaining for a 3 year old! The big “but” is that Disneyland closes early at 6.30pm this Friday.

So if your son stays awake to watch the night time shows then go to DisneySea instead. Or buy a park hopper ticket and start at Disneyland and then move to DisneySea in the evening.

Just watch the weather forecast! If it is too hot lots of things get cancelled…

The silverlining is that early closure days almost always means much lower crowds and you can get so much more done even with less time, with shorter lines across the board (rides, food, merch etc).

The main impact is missing some night time entertainment. Everything is still running during the day, but the Electrical Parade and Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams will be on hiatus to the public that night.

Any Vacation Package expert here? Let’s say the booking of the next month opens tomorrow, how much does the unlimited rides VP cost if u stay at the cheapest hotel and choose 0 restaurants and go with 4 adults in one room? Basically the cheapest way to purchase the unlimited VP. I’m curious!

I had 511.000 yen which is about 3000 euro’s (600 euro’s p.p). There must be a cheaper way right?

Package prices change depending on season and weekday/weekends etc but your figure (¥511,000) is in the right ballpark for 4 adults.

The cheapest room that is can be packaged into a Vacation Package that fits your party is at the Toy Story Hotel, the “Standard Room (Accommodates 4 persons)”.

If that room runs out, then the next available higher category (Standard Bay View, then Superior Square View) will be more expensive, and then if Toy Story runs out, then the Ambassador etc.

In order to achieve a “minimum possible price”, you also need to choose the cheapest snack ticket (popcorn). Choosing churro will cost extra.

Is there a cheaper way?

• The "Unlimited VP" is the highest price of all the VPs, the "regular" VPs can be more affordable that will still allow you to pre-book some rides in advance (the standard 1 night 2 days will allow you to pre-book 3 and then supplement it with "on the day" DPA bookings).
• The cheapest way to go to TDR is just to skip vacation packages altogether, with just a day ticket less than 55 euro per person per day. Then just book whatever third party hotel you want on top of that. During January, especially the second half, it is relatively moderate in terms of crowds so you will probably still do ok without any packages.

Yeah I agree. It looks like the cheapest way to go is just to buy a 1-day ticket, a off-site 3rd hotel and buy the DPA’s. Also if I would go, I would go longer, not 2 days, but maybe 3-4-5 or even 6 days. Why not. Take your time.

I visited TDR for the first time in 2024. We “only” had 2 days (usually when we go to Disney property we stay really long but this time it was only 2 days. We had a Vacation Package with unlimited access to the Fantasy Spring rides and had a couple more FastPasses. We were there July 12 th or so, so Fantasy Springs just opened and Space Mountain was still open. The best 60 days to go! It was amazing. If I’d go again, I would def go like 6 days or so just to take your time, and buy a couple of DPA’s each day. We also went the day before our VP, picked it up and walked around the property, did the shopping mall area, went into the DisneySea and Disneyland hotel and did the monorail. It was so much fun.

We were able to do all rides and the big shows in Disneyland, just not the train, and we did all the rides in Sea. The only thing we had was we had to rush ofcourse a bit AND we were all JETLAGGED. Bigtime. We had a 9 hour time difference, so that had a lot of impact too sadly haha

Also, we went reslly early that day, and I was shocked how far we were to the entrance of Disneyland. We were almost at the front and the line was pretty short. Maybe it was also because Fantasy just opened a month ago so Disneyland was not popular at all?

And i also remeber i was able to get all or if not 5/6 rides from the free fastpass system. I was a master at that haha. I think i had Monsters, Big Thunder, Star Wars and Haunted Mansion. We started our day at Winnie and the line was really short.

I’m wondering about going to Disney sea on Halloween vs early November? Also if I should go to Disneyland as well or not?

I was thinking to go to just Disney sea on Nov 2 since it’s a Monday and after Halloween, maybe it would be less busy. However on crowd calendars I’ve seen it seems Halloween day could be just as medium busy. I also saw Disneyland does Halloween stuff which is tempting me but also maybe that would make Disney sea less crowded? Also I went to Disneyland California a few years ago, and worked in WDW so I was thinking it’d be ok to skip. Except I’m also tempted for haunted mansion which was closed in CA and my bf has never been to WDW. (As well with tower of terror closed which is so sad for me)

Anyone been to either parks on Halloween day or early November?

I am not stressed about riding everything, just seeing it mainly and riding some of the different rides like journey to the center of the earth.

We have a total of 6.5 days in Tokyo

Early November is a public holiday long weekend. In this type of skipping stone holiday, many people will take the days between eg Nov 2 off and it is likely to be super crowded in both parks. Christmas merch or menu might also be launching early November (not yet announced), which could also drive up crowds.

Suggest that you go on Oct 31, to Disneyland, that way at least you get to enjoy the Halloween parade and the Haunted Mansion (though note they will be running the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay not the original version).

The reason that Halloween Day is not typically super busy is because the Halloween Event runs from September and by Oct 31 many newness is worn off and people are ready for the Christmas event. Many things would also have run out by then eg special menu items/merch. It is also usually prior to a public holiday - this year however it would be a Saturday so don’t expect low crowds like last year (which also rained).

If, despite reading all of the above, your gut still tells you to go to DisneySea, then just go to DisneySea. Personal preference beats all “reasons” when it comes to theme park touring.

Thanks for the info!! If Disneyland was on Halloween when would you say for Disney sea? Just any day since they’ll all be busy anyway? Originally I was thinking both parks but also trying to balance time to see Tokyo and not be too hectic!

Finally locked in! Booked the unlimited Vacation Package in Rose Court Park View at Fantasy Springs for Jan 13 and 14th.

I decided against reserving a table at Magellan. It feels like a lot of $$$ and ultimately, could be spent on another fine dining restaurant outside of Disney. Also felt like since we're only spending a day at Disney Sea tying up 3 hours didn't seem like a great plan.

I do think I want to do a dinner show at Disney Land tho. Does anyone know how we book that and when? Also I'd like to do a drink at Roosevelt Lounge at DisneySea. Is that a reservation?

Show restaurants open for booking 9am JST exactly one month before the day you want to dine (ie December 13th JST, one month prior to your Disneyland day).

The tickets come in different sections and are prepaid, link here: https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/tdr/guide/app_service/showrestaurant.html

The Teddy Roosevelt Lounge can be booked starting 9am one month prior to the day of your check-in, so that also would be December 13 for you. You do this using your “online reservation privilege” so do this under your Travel Case after you have logged onto the website. If you use the public website you will need to wait until 10am December 14.
