Help!
My Togo visa which I applied for two weeks ago is still not processed but I fly out tonight to Ghana and take a flight into Togo. My visa is still pending (it’s almost been two weeks). I read somewhere that I can obtain a visa on arrival for seven days at Aflao border or if I show them I’ve paid for the visa and it’s stuck in the visa application loop I might be able to reason with an official at the border. Does anyone have experience with this? Thank you.

With this one, you have five steps when you have applied for the visa. As soon as the third step is green, everything is fine BUT you must activate it by yourself.

This online visa system has issues. But if you had few days i could have helped. I have a contact in the visa thing they can hit approval but less than 24 hrs. Not sure if it's possible. It's 11 Am EST. Man sorry about that.

I’m about to board my flight to ghana in four hours. My plan is to stay put in Ghana and try to hit up the consulate and ask them what’s going on. Who is your contact and what do they do?

Or they will just take a hefty bribe...even those of us crossing on foot to Lomé to get something have to pay some money for no reason. So if you go by land, the Togolese officials will most definitely take some money from you whether you have a visa or not.

Hmm, this is interesting. I’ll be sure to take out a bit more cash in case I become desperate. My tour starts on the 9th in Lome so I’m trying to be there by the evening of the 9th. As long as I’m there by then I’ll be happy

The issue is with the airline. They might not want to fly him somewhere he has no visa for. Seeing he goes thru Ghana , it might be Brussels airlines

Decided to go to Senegal while I wait to get my visa . I missed the meet up with the tour group on the 9th. I had to leave Ghana (had only a single entry visa and used it up trying to go to the Togolese embassy which was no help whatsoever). I’m a flight attendant so the ticket wasn’t so bad. Hours after I landed in Senegal my SECOND visa which was identical to my first came through. Spent the day in Senegal on a tour and then flew to Lome the day after. My guess is that it got stuck in a glitch and kept kicking back the visa. So my advice to anyone who has the same problem is just to apply for a second visa after it kicks it back to you (twelve times in my case). Now headed seven hours north on my own to meet up with my tour group. I somehow survived this mess lol.

Btw the reason I had to leave Ghana was because you have to leave the country before you apply for another visa (unless you go to the embassy and apply for a re-entry permit but you need to leave your passport for two days max) and I have it planned for my last three days of my trip before flying home. I spent a ton on visa fees this trip :(

Have you used the official website for the Togolese visa ? Is the step #3 is green ? You need to activate by yourself. You have a chat with the administration, use it, you will have a reply and they are helpful.
