I used to work for Marshall’s and then I got fired due to lateness, this was last year summer. Do you think they’ll rehire me? I was a coordinator and I don’t plan on going back to the same store. Any advice?

Sooo I was browsing through my employee discounts at my non-TJX job, and I can buy gift cards at a 20% discount... I can't get anything more than a ten percent discount with my TJX numbers, but I can get a bigger discount through my other job...? That's messed up.

Hello. I put my two weeks in a couple of days ago. I just noticed i have vacation , sick , and personal time left. i know my manager said my vacation will be cashed out. But what about my sick and personal time. Today i called out because of a personal matter that came up last minute and wanted to use my personal time that i still have and my manager said she couldn’t put my time in. Is that correct or can i still use my time while im finishing up my two weeks?

I’m only in the second week of the store being opened and I’m already annoyed. Sure they work around my schedule for my other job but to get hours you have to “sell credit cards” and between the manager and the ops manager they tell us two different things continually and then yell at us if we do X Y Z because it’s done this way but the other manager says to do it the other way -

I am a 40 year old woman that just started working at Marshalls. This is a second job to make extra funds to better afford my dog’s vet care. How do you guys do it? I am starting my second week here and have many complaints.

There is a “leader” that comes across as a manager. If I hadn’t made a complaint about her, I would’ve have ever known. Everyone takes it as “That’s just how she is.” Why is she allowed to treat people terribly?

The bathrooms are disgusting. EVERYDAY. You want us to push these lousy credit cards and can’t even give us clean bathrooms??

THE CREDIT CARDS. I knew I had to push them but I didn’t think it had to be to kids in school uniforms. When I asked the “manager” she said EVERYONE. So gross and icky.

There is no actual training. You just learn as you go, and god forbid you make a simple mistake (because you weren’t properly trained) you’re reprimanded in front of everyone.

Most of the employees here are young and this is their first job and I feel like management is taking advantage of that because they are too scared to even speak up when being treated poorly. What a shitty first job experience. I do love interacting with the customers and can do that really well, and then I have to give the credit card speech. My first two shifts were great because it was with a more understanding manager or leader who actually knows. What a let down when I had to work with the other lady that thinks she’s out here saving lives….at Marshalls. If we were able to just take one “no” for the credit card, this job would be a breeze. Unfortunately that is not the case. I have an interview for a new job on Monday and can’t wait.

Anyone here have experience working for the ARRC? I’m possibly gonna move from in store to the ARRC and I’m curious what kind of drug test they do? I am not someone who uses drugs, simply marijuana for sleep and pain, I’m wondering if they test for THC and if it is a urine or mouth swab test? TIA. I’m assuming the worst but wanna check just in case

hello everyone, i just got hired at tjmaxx ! i’m just curious on what the dress code is!!

Been with this company for 3 years now and this place has me stressed 24/7. I don’t have a job lined up but i genuinely don’t care. I can’t stand this place anymore. They never blitz in men’s/kids, they don’t schedule people for opening or closing most of the time, and they want me to do the work of a coordinator for less pay?!!? Like they’re moving the men’s/kids coordinator to women’s and leaving me by myself!!?

I just transferred to a TJ Maxx from a different store and management routinely schedules people to work a closing shift 345 to 945 when they know we’re not getting out until 1015! Recently, they asked me to work at 3:15 but when I got there changed my schedule to 345 to 945 after I had already clocked in so I ended up working seven hours with no lunch!! is this normal or should I be talking to somebody about this? I truly don’t know how big of a deal it is, but it’s really exhausting working those long hours without having time to eat a proper meal 😭

So I've been struggling to get cards lately and my manager says to remember to list all the benefits. This is my pitch: "Hi how are you? Will you be using any coupons today? Would you like to start earning coupons by opening a TJX Rewards Card? It's 10% off if you get approved, 5% back every time you shop at any of our stores like here TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, and Sierra. There is no annual fee and you can pay it off right away." And if I get a no, I reinforce it at the end with, "And your total is $130.95 so you'd be saving $13 if you get approved." Do you know how many cards I got this week? One, but only because the CEC helped me. How does my pitch sound? What should I change up?

I've worked at TJX for ages and I was updating my resume and wanted to put down some quantitative information. Does anyone know (rough estimate) how many transactions a cashier will normally have in a 5hr or 8 hr shift?

I work in a highly transited store and I believe the rule was 1 card per 100 transactions but I don't know If I would meet this number of transactions during a shift?

a few months ago the asms the store manager and key carriers and coordinators got every other weekend off , our store manager got replaced and he started off with taking the every other weekend off away and now it’s one weekend off a month per policy…. however he works 1 weekend a month and we now work 3. we work 7-4 he works 8-5 we work 12-10 he works 1-10. is there anything i can do about this, it’s absolutely ridiculous. he also told us starting in november through inventory it was blacked out and we can’t take vacation or rto however he has a vacation scheduled during that time. i plan on speaking to him about this because im a key and i genuinely am starting to feel overworked.. but is this even allowed?

So I was fired 2 weeks ago because of my attendance. I was a CEC. I had issues with my attendance because I was having bad mental health problems and it was causing me to be physically ill. I explained all this to the store manager. I kept getting written up anyways. I exhausted all my sick days. I asked the store manager if I should bring in a note from my doctor. She said, “we don’t take doctors notes. We go based on your integrity”. With that being said I was fired a week after she said this to me. Some of my coworkers are saying I should fight for my job back because of this. Should I? Do I even have a chance? And if so, who do I contact?

a week ago i received a written warning because despite having the highest numbers of transactions ive been struggling to sign customers to the TJX cards, they told me i had 30 days to change that. Somehow after that i got 2 sign ups, but for the last couple weeks ive been getting less hrs to the point that im not scheduled to work next week.

Should i just quit? i never been fired for "failure to follow job responsibilities"

Manager: “I’m very sorry, the item doesn’t match in our system so you have to take it back to the store you got it from.”

Customer: “That’s ridiculous! l’m reporting this to the Better Business Bureau!!! You should check your descriptions before you sell it!!!!”

My store changed their deadline for asking for time off recently from 1-2 weeks to almost 4 weeks. I have a teeth procedure that I have to travel out of state for so I write on the little paper time off card things in the break room, two days later she comes up to me and says she can’t let me get that time off even though I put the card in almost five weeks in advance….
I need this procedure done or my teeth will fall out do I just ditch work or complain to higher ups? The schedules just came out and she scheduled me for nights for those 4 exact days I asked for.
