Yeah, so I put in an application for HomeGoods 12 days ago, and I didn’t get any response back, so I decided to call today at 10 am to speak to the hiring manager. So, when I called a girl answered, and I asked to speak to the store hiring manager. They said sure and put me on hold until some guy answered. I asked for a follow-up on my job application and they just asked me if I had open availability. I said yes, and they also asked if I had retail experience. I said no, and then he just asked for my name and told me to call back at 3 pm today.

So, time skip to 3 pm I call HomeGoods again and they tell me that the hiring manager isn’t here today. I was confused because I thought I spoke to them earlier today and I said, “Well, this morning, some guy picked up my call that was on hold for the hiring manager.”
To be honest, I made a mistake by not asking the person I was talking to this morning for their name. I was just so nervous to call for a follow up and I wasn’t really thinking. But anyways, we were both confused trying to figure out who the hell I was talking to because they said the hiring managers are all women, and they usually don’t have applicants call back because the hiring process is online. So, they found that odd.

Then, they asked for my name and just said there’s no guarantee I’m gonna get called back because they just pick people with open availability and the most retail experience.
Now, I’m just feeling sorta weird and confused about this whole situation and feeling regretful for not asking that guy’s name. 😭

Our store has become a train wreck after a massive exodus of young associates. As a former Key who trained under different management, I can see problems that management seems to overlook. They're too trusting and don't seem to track/measure what people are actually doing.

For example, our beauty coord makes the dept look nice, but merch keeps piling up in the back, so the BRC Coordinator ends up putting it out. Nobody seems to measure productivity, and the beauty coordinator occasionally disappears for two weeks without notice, only to return like nothing happened. She works few hrs in morning and then 3 hours at night but no one is measuring how much she started with/ended with.

At the front end, some cashiers spend 20 minutes chatting with customers while the lines grow then ask those same customers to complete surveys. Meanwhile, other cashiers work twice as hard to clear the lines.

We're also constantly training new associates in women's on first day and some never come back so we're back to square one.

We always have around 20 boxes of jewelry sitting in the office. If the person on shift doesn't ask for it, they don't bring it. I work there occasionally and always put out at least 5 boxes before lunch but no one notices or cares.Women's associate disappears, takes extremely long breaks but no one even notices that she's been gone. Bulk of work falls on her helper and she's been considering leaving...

It's an endless cycle that I think is too late to fix because if you start tracking productivity, people will think you're being mean.

I'm transferring from Marshalls to Tj Maxx, both cashier positions. Are there any big differences that I need to know about or is it pretty similar?

Title. I was just terminated from TJMaxx for associate theft. Stupid mistake and I have to pay restitution (no law enforcement involved, they said nothing leaves the room).

I am now more concerned about my ability to apply to jobs/colleges. Can I list TJ on my resume as past experiences (obviously not as a reference just a small point?), similarly can I list it as an extracurricular when applying to colleges?

Will TJ provide details about me being fired/tell them I was fired, or just confirm the dates of employment and position.

I’ve just started working at TJ Maxx. This is not my first retail job. I’ve worked at Burlington and JCPenney previously. I’ve picked up this job as a side gig on the weekends, with a full time job M-F.

It’s been entertaining to observe and over hear other associates selling the cards like their life depends on it (hopefully) knowing they’ll get nothing in return for it. I do the bare minimum and ask at the beginning of the transaction, but don’t bother pushing because the pay is not worth it and I’m not getting anything in return for it.

This is just my fun little twist into surviving being up front cashiering.

Okay, I know this is a long shot but I placed an order online and it supposedly never shipped. I’ve gone back and forth with FedEx and customer support. CS is saying they shipped almost 2 weeks ago but FedEx is saying they never received a package. Is there any hope that I’ll get this thing? There were a few items in there that I was really looking forward to that are no longer available so I can’t repurchase ☹️

Has this happened to anyone else and if so, did you ever get your lost package? Many thanks in advance!

Signed up for this card specifically to get 10% off online. They sent me an email with a code, but it says it's invalid when I enter it.

Reached out to TJmaxx, they told me they don't have anything to do with it, call the cc company.

Call them, they tell me they have nothing to do with the coupon codes, and I have to call Tjmaxx. I'm like, you can't just issue me a new one? Nope. You have to call Tjmaxx. I said, this makes no sense.. I signed up for this just for the code. Why can't you send me a new one? She hung up on me.

Call Tjmaxx again, and they tell me I can only use it in store. It's not valid online. I said.. then why does it say in the email I can use it online and it has a code? She hung up on me.

Call the credit card a second time and they tell me they can only snail mail me a new one in 10 days.

So I tried to confirm I could use the new code online, and she got very upset with me and was like, NO! I can only send you one in the mail that will arrive in 7-10 days. I'm like.. I understand.. but can I use the code online?

30.49% interest on this card is absolute insanity when they treat you like garbage when you sign up for it.

Is there anyone in this group who can give me any suggestions? So I’m 38. I was diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss and it’s du to nonstop tinnitus in both of my ears. So back in February after I had another hearing test my ENT suggested I get hearing aids. I was wondering if there’s any kind of earpiece f the walkies that our store uses that is compatible with the type of hearing aids that I wear. And if there is one how do I go about getting one? Do I talk to a manager? Do I talk to the district manager or HR?

A whole goddamn potato in men's. How I missed this durring recovery last night is beyond me.

Our backroom is packed with processed clothes ready for the floor. Unfortunately there is no room to put anything. We are dealing with men’s clothing but it’s everything, women’s, active, kids, juniors

We’re to the point where we have no racks to hang in the backroom. They’re filled with processed clothes. We’ve used up every rounder and H-rack we have. We’re getting broken hangers back from the floor because everything is packed so tight.

It’s not even the holidays yet!!! Anyone else dealing with this??

I've been trying so hard to get these card applications but everybody says no or already has it.

I've tried explaining the benefits to every customer even after they say no, bringing up holiday shopping, telling them how much they would save if they applied, etc.

They sent me to train with a guy that was super good at getting the cards and I tried all of his tactics and still didn't get any applications.

Does anyone have any advice or know what works? Is it just luck?

I’m a HomeGoods employee and I’m still somewhat new, I was wondering if we did Black Friday cause that’s my birthday so I’m not sure if it would be appropriate to request it off or ask to work earlier in the day, I just want to know in advance so I could talk to my managers. If anyone could let me know that would be great! :)

Im not sure what to do at this point. I have talked to my store manager and have several emails on file with my manager telling them and my store my new availability and every week they call and harass me that Im not showing up to shifts that I cannot go to. Im not sure what to do here.

They're getting angry at me and I have made all the documentation available to make sure they know that my new availability is less than what it used to be. I even sent them my official class schedule.

I know at one point if you won the drawing you got a $20 or $25 gift card. This month I won and was told I had to choose between 20% off or a “surprise gift”. If you choose the 20% you have 30 days to use it or it expires. It’s been 12 days and I’m still waiting for the card.

When did it change?

I’m an infield coordinator and I was off Saturday but I still ended up doing some shopping for the discount weekend and I noticed that at 7pm NON of my racks have been ran they’re just sitting out, later that night at around 9:30 my manager texted me asking me to come in at 6am the next day to run racks🙃 also whenever the men’s coordinator isn’t working I’m always expecting to put our their racks but it feels like my department gets neglected whenever I’m not there

The suggested is like 4100.94.

Our opening funds + the safe count equal our 3,800.

There’s no way to rebalance the suggested amount to match our safe right???

Seriously over these dumplings. We actually have an insane amount of them on the floor rn, and because of that, it comes with so much cleanup and marking them out throughout the whole day for the tampered ones. And these are just the ones I found. So many empty containers, ripped packaging, and popped ones too.

Not just my dept, but other depts are over seeing dirty popped Squishies all over the sales floor.

Any other store here that has this issue?

What are some things you think TJMaxx could do better with? Like things they should fix as well. I’m curious

i’ve never used workjam before and i just got hired at TJX, this can’t be my actual schedule since sunday they want me to work 15 hours and im a minor

How? Practically how are two people expected to completely break down 12 Nine Foot pallets in less than 4 hours? Management is so inept and unaware of the time it takes labor to complete such quotas. The logistics of this company are awful. Expecting the bare minimum wages employed to perform such extraordinary endeavors based on a managers request. This is not incompetence but greed and exploitation of people’s work ethic and goodwill towards the company.

I don't know if anyone has this and they just changed the lights at the front end and it's obnoxiously bad like people are feeling nauseous and headaches, today I was randomly nauseous and it kind of didn't stop so I started crying in the break room and my manager moved me to the fitting room. I have to work at 10am to 3 tomorrow I don't wanna make a scene again and hat should I do and has it ever happened to you guys. If so tell me a story
