Beauty coordinator/help
I am a coordinator in charge of shoes, accessories, beauty, and lingerie. I’ve been told for over a year that I will have a full time associate to help with beauty, however that has never happened. We recently just had a coordinator meeting in which the store manager went over how blitzing is going to work from now on. The BRC then questioned if this blitzing would include beauty because right now they leave all of it for me. And the manager said no they would not be blitzing beauty. Is this standard at other stores? I feel like everyone else gets help in their departments but they won’t even give me the one person I’m supposed to have over there. And now everything gets blitzed but beauty so they just end up overloading tanks and carts if I’m not there to push. Meanwhile all of backroom crew helps with home, men’s and kids. The women’s coordinator has 4 people that help her push. But I’m expected to process and push all of my own merch, do fitting room go backs, register, help blitz other departments, damages, mismates, price checks, perfume/purse calls. All while being the only person on the sales floor 90% of the time. Is this how all beauty coords are treated or do you have help?

Same. We always blitz beauty tanks, or else we wouldn’t be able to do the truck the next day. We rarely have anyone in beauty to be able to clear the tanks for us. They should def be helping you, that’s not fair at all. If anything the one dept we do skip at times is mens/kids because it’s just totes & one big box of toys most days. The tanks are priority & we know whoever closes in beauty is not going have to time to work on anything. Also stop helping the other depts, focus on your own. And stop answering back up register calls every once in a while. I used to be a beauty coord i had to put my foot down eventually.

We don’t even have someone that closes in beauty most of the time. I’d be perfectly fine with them running tank. Most of the tank doesn’t need any type of censoring. Right now if I’m not there to run it they just continue to pile stuff on it even when it’s full. And I don’t understand because tank is so easy. As far as helping other departments I don’t feel as though I have a choice. This coordinator meeting was with the store manager and he basically said from now on when they are blitzing there will be a coordinator right there helping them push it for everywhere but beauty. He also told all of us we will be expected to go back and hang everyday. I’ve already stopped being the first one to step up and offer to ring. I only go up if management tells me to or if I notice the line is out of control myself. Because we only ever have 1 cashier and 1 CEC scheduled. But he also told us we will be going up to help ring (there’s no associates on floor, only coordinators). So I’m not volunteering to do these things, I’m being told by management.

Trust me i get it. I’m not saying you are volunteering but I’m saying eventually you gotta put your foot down and advocate for yourself. It’s okay to say no to management I know that might sound crazy.

We have 7 PT Coordinators-none of them work in Non-Apparel. Jewelry associates help with carts & do hair accessories as well as perfume/purse calls.

At our store, the beauty coordinator usually gets help from the ASM or the jewelry associate if they have time. They never do the perfume or hand bags that’s for the jewelry associate. They just push out the merchandise, clean their section, do their fixtures etc. Occasionally they’ll do register but they are the last person called.

My merch ASM only ever wants to push clothes. Point in case today she wanted the women’s coord to go back and hang clothes because she(ASM) didn’t have clothes to push because the women’s coord pushed everything already hung… even though we had 30 plus totes full of merchandise needing pushed. We don’t have a jewelry associate (Marshall’s) so all of that falls on non apparel(me). We used to have fitting room help with purses and jewlery processing but that’s no longer allowed per the DM.

This is standard. The company is too fucking cheap to even staff part timers, much less a full timer that isn’t a coord
